Blood Sweat and Tears video and song were built and written based on Demian, a novel by Hermann Hesse which won a nobel prize in literature back in 1946. I read this book (because of this Mv) and I'll try my best to interpret and summarize the story here. The story follows a young boy named Sinclair who had a friend named Demian. Demian acted as Sinclair's mentor during his childhood and transition to adulthood. Sinclair as a young adult experienced series of existential crisis, believing he lived in between the world of light (the world of illusion, full of goodness) and "the dark world" (the real world which was full of lust, temptation, anger and evil world). Demian, and later on Sinclair's another mentor Pistorius, believed that in order to become a full person a human needs to embrace both of their light and dark sides. This will then lead Sinclair to find out about Abraxas, the god of light and darkness. There are sooo many imageries and jawdropping details on the MV that represent details in the book. But the point is this song is about the loss of innocence and temptation, about being a human and embracing both of your good and dark sides. The scene where Jin kissed the statue (which I believe the representation of Abraxas) means he seals the deal with the devil himself in order to fully embrace himself as a person who isn't perfect, full of flaws. The white and black doors represent the world of light and the real world. Suga playing piano represents Pistorius who was an organ player in the story. The phrase that RM read in English here was also taken from the book, page 26 (on the version that I read). It says "He too was a tempter, he too was a link to the second, the evil world with which I no longer have anything to do." "He" here refers to Demian, that Sinclair once thought as a bad influence for him, maybe it's because Sinclair tried to deny his dark sides. The book is heavily influenced by a swiss philosopher and psychiatrist Carl Jung. One of his pupils was Hermann Hesse's doctor back then. This MV and song are also influenced by a german philosopher Nietzche. There's a quote by him on the wall above the painting that Jin is staring at. It is in German but it means "You must have chaos within you in order to give a birth to a dancing star". Again, the same theme occurs here, about embracing both of your light and dark sides. Only by accepting your flaws and mistakes you can reach your true potentials. Hesse learned a lot about Jung's psychoanalysis and experienced it himself so that was why Demian was heavily influenced by it. What makes it even more interesting, BTS album MOTS 7 is also based on Carl Jung's theory (hence the songs Persona, Shadow, and Ego were born-- these 3 elements are important in Jung's theory Maps of the Soul). BTS are deep, my friends. They talk about real things like the pain of growing up and youth's experience. They literally make a lot of armys become smarter and read on classic literature like this because of them. lol. Welcome to the fandom! (Please note once again that this is all my own interpretation after reading the book, take it with a grain of salt.)
I also bought & read the book and marked everything that ties in with the MV and short films, from objects to situations and concepts and well, now it's FULL of highlighted parts and thin sticky notes stick out from all sides like teeth in a dentist's worst nightmare because I ran out of places to stick them lmao. It's incredible how much of the book is represented in the MV and the short films.
This is exactly the reason why sixty-one-year-old me followed BTS. They are no-nonsense group. They don’t sing and dance just for the heck of it! They make me analyze and think! (Even their fun song “Permission to Dance” is, sort of like, encrypted! You have to look at all the angles to really interpret their songs. It’s not just PTD per se! It has a deeper meaning [balloons, signages, the cowboy look etc etc etc]). I am a new ARMY (Oct. 1, 2020), thus I still don’t know a lot but I am reasonably informed. The first thing I did was watch TheRiseOfBangtan and xCeleste’s explanations of their MVs (why are they almost always similar, in a way) together with her explanation of Bangtan Universe. Their early MVs (MOTS) are interconnected. ARMYs, correct me if I said something wrong. 💜💜💜
@@springdaykeukenhof9312 exactly. I first got into them because I loved the dancing and some of their songs sounded good but the more I dug into their songs and videos and the meaning behind them, I fell in love. I like trying to analyze things instead of having everything just be obvious. I also love them because they are amazing human beings. They are so great to their fans. 💜💜
I feel like this entire video is Jim's brain freaking out haha. The entire wings album/era is based on the book Demian by Hermann Hesse. I hope you will watch the explanation video to the mv and song( video done by xceleste) Demian is a book about becoming who one is, the loss of innocence, finding your true self. Within the lyrics of Blood, sweat and tears they are saying that they want something so badly that ir costs them their innocence. Jin, v and the statue all of it refer to the book and the words RM speaks in the song is a quote from the book itself. In the wings teasers the words RM speaks before each teaser is directly quoted from the book.
After I watched this video a few years back I immediately went to Weverse and signed up as ARMY. I never financially joined a fanclub in my life but this one right here... Mind-blowing. I felt compelled to support them. The visuals, the art references, the way the boys acted, the beat, storytelling and the choreography! I was hooked. Like in their career, the Wings era was a turning point. I'm sorry I didn't know about it then.💜💜💜

Jim, Jim, Jim…I spent most of the reaction crying with laughter. Your reaction was fantastic! Hope you watch the explained video. Yes, there’s BU, also a book, mythology, religion, loss of innocence…it’s a mind bending, beautiful piece of art. So looking forward to your Wings album reaction. One of, if not the best, BTS album. I adore it. See you then.
About the song: it was a moment because there wasn't really anyone doing that kind of genre in Kpop when it dropped, it was kind of against the curve of genres Kpop groups/the industry were/was doing at that time, and after it a lot of groups started doing songs like that lol it was truly new and refreshing when it dropped, everyone was freaking out about both the video and song
Traveling through BTS Universe... is something else. One hell of a ride, indeed. BTS's MV's are short films full of symbolism with a whole storyline, where nothing seems to be by mistake. Every video is a continuation of the previous one! No one else is doing it like this! *At the beginning of the MV V is the only one in pajamas, so the museum is in his house. V is the fallen angel (Icarus), tempting the others, as seen by V’s little smirk at the end like 'yay we got him'. *J-Hope was trying to save V from giving in to his shadow persona so he shot him with an arrow. *"Nae pi ttam" in the chorus sounds a lot like 'Pietà' which is the renaissance sculpture behind J-Hope holding the bow and arrow. *Jin standing and watching the painting, hesitant to follow the crowd, he seems to be the only one who hadn't decided which way to go yet. *There is a Japanese MV version of Blood, Sweat & Tears which is the antithesis to the original MV. Almost yin and yang/heaven and hell of temptation. *V's representative color in BTS is green (his mic and in-ear pieces are green). Everything tempting them is green: the poison (absinthe) in RM's cup , on JK's finger, tears dripping off Jimin's blindfold, the fumes around Suga and the splash coming off of J-Hope's arrow hitting V). Jin was the last one to be tempted and the statue bleeds green at the end. *The scene where Jin kissed the statue means he seals the deal with Abraxas in order to fully embrace himself as a person who isn't perfect, but flawed. *The white and black doors represent the world of light vs dark. *The phrase that RM reads was also taken from the book, it says "He too was a tempter, he too was a link to the second, the evil world with which I no longer have anything to do." He refers to Demian, that Sinclair once thought as a bad influence for him, maybe it's because Sinclair tried to deny his dark side. *V with the veil coming off - the unveiling of the true self / shedding the mask / fake persona *JK on the swing - swinging between both sides/worlds. Swing usually signifies carelessness, not having a worry in the world. Even though JK has lollipop in his mouth (child-like innocence), I'm more inclined to it signifying swinging between good and evil. *All of them having apples on their plates. Apple symbolized temptation in the garden of Eden. If they're going to bite into the apple that means they're going to give into temptation. Same symbolism with V's jumping off the balcony. He's the Icarus or the fallen angel. *Blindfold - to blindly accept the temptation or it can have a different meaning, that of 'see no evil' and therefore avoiding temptation. *The balloon signifies the shedding of childhood and child-like innocence. Artworks from MV: *'Pietà' by Michelangelo, or more of an altered version of it. This is a marble statue of the Virgin Mary holding her dead son, Jesus, after the Crucifixion. *The painting Jin is examining at the beginning of the MV is called 'The Fall of the Rebel Angels' by Peter Bruegel the Elder, painted in 1562. Bruegel is depicting a passage from the 'Book of Revelation' in the New Testament of the Bible. The archangel Michael and his angels are shown driving the rebel angels from Heaven, and battling demons, half-human and half-animal monsters. *The painting called 'Landscape with the Fall of Icarus' is shown when V is jumping off the balcony. In Greek mythology, Icarus is the son of the master craftsman Daedalus, the creator of the Labyrinth. Icarus and Daedalus attempts to escape Crete from being held captive by King Minos by means of wings Daedalus constructed from feathers and wax. Icarus flew too close to the sun, causing the wax to melt and he fell into the sea to his death. This isn't the only time Icarus makes an appearance in BS&T! *'The Lament for Icarus' by Herbert James Draper, painted in 1898, shows a dead Icarus, surrounded by lamenting (grieving) nymphs and can be seen in the room with JK on the swing. *In the Japanese version of BS&T there's a ceiling painting, a baroque fresco painting by Giulio Quaglio and it's located in the Ljubljana Cathedral (or St. Nicholas's church) in Slovenia. It's an illusionistic painting to make the ceiling look higher and arched. The fresco shows the transfiguration of St. Nicholas in the center while the persecution of Christians under the Emperor Nero and Diocletian. LOL BTS attracts the thinkers, so it seems! 😃 whoever thinks BTS is some boy band focused primarily on their looks, is mistaken big time. Meanwhile, a whole lot of people will simultaneously expand their mind's eye through 'popular culture', simply by opening themselves up to different cultural influences, exploration of classic literature and digging into human psychology. All I know is I'm all for it, love me some food for thought like that.
Seeing you watch this and getting confused trying to figure everything out really reminds me of when I first started getting into the BU and after seeing your reaction to the wings teasers on stream yesterday I’m excited for you to hear the full album! This is one of my top 3 BTS albums and it’s definitely one of my favourite concepts they’ve done. there is so much going on with the visuals in this mv it’s impossible to catch everything in one watch 😂💕
When I first watched BST, I got that this was good vs. evil/Angels vs. Devils immediately and by the time they showed the Dark Angel. I was already yelling at Jin to RUN! Yet, he kept walking closer. I was freaking out. Then he touch the Dark Angels face. I was screaming! Stop, get out of there. Don't! Please Don't! Then when he kissed him. Seeing that the Wings were gone from Tae's back. I'm literally yelling at the screen No! No! No!! I swear this video put me through the ringer.
answering some of your questions without giving BU spoilers: I think the museum is actually supposed to be V's house, he's in casual clothes like the robe, the others are wearing street clothes (not in the dance scenes as much but the story scenes. ) Vs wings were ripped off or whatever and put on the statue. V is tempting them with various temptations. Could be love, or anything. The guy that jumps off is V, he might be able to fly, since he has/had wings. They sort of do go into a painting, if you look at the background in the scene with the table like the last supper, it's swirly like a painting by maybe monet or something, impressionist style. The lyrics to this are great too. Oh last thing because I can't remember all your questions and I don't want to spoil the BU link to this, what RM says in the red scene with the balloon is a quote from the book demain which I saw others explain to you so I won't. Suga playing the organ , he's a character from that book as well. Oh & the quote on the wall in white that Jin is standing in front of in 1 scene is a Nietzsche quote. 💜
All this album (wings) is for me the best so far because it's a whole package. The songs are insane but also so deep. All the album is based on a book by Hermann Hesse. This book is really really deep and they have succeeded to put this story into songs but the songs also relate to their personal life and the stories of their characters in the BU. It's pure genius and so artistic. This MV and the short films are just full of symbolisms that connect everything : the BU, the book even art references like Icarus (with the painting in the back of the room and JK floating in the air with the green wax on his finger during the MV...). It's too much lmao I recommend to watch explanation videos.
this is the most confusing MV for 1st timer. even me back then!. hahaha but this is the most requested song. glad that they did this song last LA concert.
Other armys may correct me but based on the novel's characters, Jin represents the protagonist Emil Sinclair who grew up in innocence. His childhood friend and mentor Max Demian is represented by V who became some sort of his demon who opened Emil's eyes to the world outside. That's why V is depicted in the mv as the fallen angel, the one whose wings were cut. Suga represents Pistorius, the rector and organist in their local church who teaches Sinclair how to look inside himself for spiritual guidance. Lots of armys thought Map Of The Soul was the first time Jungian philosophy was expressed in BTS works, but they may have actually started with BST since the novel Demian is full of Jungian archetypes and symbols. The author Herman Hesse, turned to Jungian psychoanalysis for treatment to address psychological struggles he experienced as a child which includes the conflict between his carnal instincts and strict moralism of his parents, and this mirrors the exact conflict experienced by Emil. Jin kissing the fallen angel statue may be referring to the part when Demian kissed him on the lips but I think it's like symbolizing giving in to temptation. I know there's lots to take in but it'll be a bit less confusing when you watch the explanation videos of army theorists.
i laughed so hard at the "you need some moisturizer". by the way, did you notice that at the end the reflection of the flower is a completely different flower in the mirror? right before Jin's face starts cracking
WINGS is one of my favorite albums, and I'm so excited for you to hear the rest of it ♥️ It's like they're maturing with each album and, personally, they get better and better. (My fave verse is Suga's 2nd verse 😍) haha aaaaanyway.. It's pretty interesting stuff ☺️
I see what you mean about how the video is so amazing that it over shadowed the song. When you listen to the song by itself then you really know if you like it or not. Looking forward to Sunday!
This was the song that reeled me in the rest of the to becoming army. Guess I gave into the temptation 😏It’s so beautiful musically and lyrically. My favorite bit of choreography is when they move their hands around their heads reflecting see no evil/hear no evil/speak no evil.
This video is amazing. When I watched for the, probably 20 times, I didn't understand a thing. Leaving aside the cinematographic side of it, which is gorgeous, the symbolism behind is incredible. I watched a video that explains pretty well some aspects of the video and since then I truly started to fully appreciate it. I you want, you could watch it, you'll find it searching: Blood, sweet and tears: What does it mean? I recommend it.
the entire album was based on " Damien" by Hermann Hess!! if you know the book, it makes a lot more sense lol there are great explanation videos for this MV and i personally really liked the video called "Blood Sweat &Tears : what does it all mean? " by a channel called " don't worry i am not afraid"
Jim, I wanna recommend you watch the Japanese Version of this music video too - it's a crazy bringing together of all the elements of the HYYH storlyline up until this point and it's absolutely mindblowing if you recognize all the different call backs and opposite depictions of scenes we've already seen. You'll probably have to do it on twitch tho because their japanese label dishes out copyright strikes like free cookies lmao
I’m cracking up whilst watching this🤣 We’ve all been there Jim. I was soooo confused the first few times I watched this. Took me a lot of reading, analyzing, and watching multiple explanation videos to fully understand the nuances😆
I love your reactions. I was in tears most of the time. My personal favourite it "Don't touch it, don't touch it". From them on I was laughing and couldn't stop. Sunday can't come fast enough 😍
In order to understand the Blood Sweat & Tears music video well, we need to think about the hint given to us in advance, . The main character, Sinclair, struggles between the comfortable and happy world of light and the new world of darkness. In the end, you fall into temptation and you can't go back to that innocent time again. That is the theme that runs through the music video. The growth of a boy who conflicts in the world of light and darkness. And each of the BTS members is in charge of good and evil (or Sinclair and Damian), and how they react when a boy encounters evil and temptation as he grows up. Resistance to temptation, resignation, and a sweet fall in temptation.
😂🤣😂🤣 sorry jim 😅 i laugh so hard because of your reaction, thats also my reaction when i we watch that video 😆 Pls. React to their Dance practice for Blood sweat and tears.
Loved the reaction, sometimes watching the video and lyrics and listening to the music video can be quite overwhelming. Usually when I listen to Korean songs with an mv the first time, I do so without the lyrics, focusing only on the mv visuals and the actual music, then I go back to the lyrics afterward, if I liked the song. Although this mv does have ties to the BU, it can also be interpreted on its own, it's is essentially the boys going through the various stages of growing up / growing out of youth into adulthood / giving in to temptation. While TMBIL MVs showed a lot of their struggle in youth and resistance to growing up, Blood, Sweat and Tears can be seen as the culmination of that, finally giving in to adulthood.
Aw Jim, i have mixed feelings! Part of me thinks it's a good idea that u watched this one on ur own w/o the chat going crazy, cause it would have for sure. But there's also some moments that would benefit from instant answers. I'm not sure if the dream team mentioned the book this also got some inspiration from...I don't think I've seen anything mentioned in chat so far, or maybe they didn't on purpose and I'm ruining it. Anyways, happy to wake up to this reaction and I'll c u on Sunday!
I became an army last year when I first saw this music video I understood only half of it but after reading the comments of senior armies I understood it completely but yeah it is really difficult
This songs choreo is my fab choreo of all the songs as it's sensual yet powerful at the same time. Also there are lots of deeper meanings behind every detail in them is MV including the fallen angel with black wings and the fight between temptation. Also the MV has so many iden details that even to this day (I've seen it over a million times) I'm still finding new things and messages. Also Jimin in this era must be my fav as I just love how his voice sunda and that siler/Grey hair really suits him
One thing you may want to know that, the wings album has many interpretations, had BU meanings, each song has something from Demian (a book) also each of them represents a part of the self (map of the soul)
You are perhaps the first reactor that I have seen talk during the Jin kiss scene. Most are practically holding their breath. It was kinda funny how different your reaction was.
Jin's face - half-light and half-dark. Damien learning about the dark side all humans possess - or the dark that keeps humans? The painting is Sergio Cevertti's "Fall of other Rebel Angels." And references the twentieth-century novel about a young man discovering his evil side, entitled: Damien" by Henry Hesse. The video caused me to read Damien - a fascinating book! V removing his hands from Jin's eyes represents Jin's recognition of his evil impulses - the statue with the black wings that V once had. Jin is Sinclair, and V is Damien. The comments by Haura Emilia [below] are much better than mine!💜💜
man I watched this video the moment it dropped and let me tell you -- everyone reacted exactly the way you did HAHAHA and tbh until now, I don't think I fully understand this song. It's such a banger though. Also, Jungkook became an adult that year and they just went for the sexy theme straight away LMAO
I loved the Ghostbusters reference it was Viggo. When you predicted the next album (Wings) would be an art album boy do you get to find out how right you are. This is the foundation of a very very dense artistic cake with layer after delicious layer each different but all tie together. Plus the songs like this one are so good and catchy. I mean who else in pop/kpop is making super catchy songs based on 1940s Nobel prize winning literature, Jungian Psychology, and throwing some Nietzsche in because why not?? Oh a sprinkle of Greek mythology because it’s a dense cake the more layers the better. Wait we need lots of art references from the Fall of the Rebel angels to Icarus, Warhol, Bansky, the last supper. Honestly I question people who don’t blink in confusion or leave this video going “what was that??”.
I have read the book demian in the original language (german)(also not because of bts. It was before the mv came out in school). It is so much better to explain the mv with the german words used in the book. Many words couldn't really be good translated because there are not such words to replace the german words. This mv is such a masterpiece and I'm so proud and happy that it has something to do with demian. It's one of my favorite books and I'm from germany so It's very cool to me. I'm also so happy to see you react to first love, outro: wings and all the other song! Can't wait for sunday^^
Lolz! enjoyed the reaction so much!! You repeatedly saying what does it mean makes me wonder whether you would be reacting to a explanation video of the mv. The one by “don’t worry I m not afraid” is a good one if you are interested
❤ your reaction Mr Jim.Thank you again.I have always impatiently waiting for your reaction. When you watch, The Rise of Bangtan tittled 'Blood, Sweat& Tears' then you know. Before this even Suga said that the dances are too sexy for him. What they ate doing with this music actually showcasing , Temptation in its finest chaoctic hour.We have been through these from our youngerself to this point in our life.So keep on reacting to yhem boys, you won't regret it😍😍
Love this MV, it's amazing.....the temptations of youth and how it all falls apart! Of course it has deeper things going on, it's BTS. It was V who jumped off the balcony. Great song!
I haven't laughed this much in a while! 🤣🤣 Your reaction was SO RELATABLE! "What does this mean?" "Don't touch it! Don't touch it!" "You need some moisturizer!" I can't- 🤣
i love your confusion. Blood swear and tears is one of my fave eras, like the whole concepts and evrything is just way too good. Altho the song is not on my top 10 musically, is really and the whole performance and all just out of this world
Insert classic comment: BTS really just waited until Jungkook's turned 19 to make this lol Also, you NEED to watch the "Wings tour trailer". If you like this MV, that little trailer is the peak cinematographic video released from this album and people usually forget about it
You: “Who rides a bike in a museum by the way?” Us: “Suga. Suga definitely does.” You: “I’m pretty sure you can’t do that.” Us: “Suga can. Suga absolutely can.” 😂 😂 😂
I love your reactions, mine was literally the same when I first watched it 😭😭 Anyways, read the book Demian by Hermann Hesse, besides being the biggest inspiration for Wings era, it's an amazing book.
"artsy, creepy, sexual, religious" YES 😃 overall, Blood, Sweat and Tears is a presentation of different temptations that everyone have experienced in an artistic and aesthetic way it's also the music video that everyone had the hard time to understand, and honestly, most of us still don't understand it, i guess it's just how you interpret it
In youtube there si a vídeo explaining the meaning of this song the Chanel is italian army.... she has a very interesting explain videos i know it's been a little times off this video but You should see them
Blood Sweat and Tears video and song were built and written based on Demian, a novel by Hermann Hesse which won a nobel prize in literature back in 1946.
It says "He too was a tempter, he too was a link to the second, the evil world with which I no longer have anything to do."
"He" here refers to Demian, that Sinclair once thought as a bad influence for him, maybe it's because Sinclair tried to deny his dark sides.
I read Damien after watching the MV as well and I can honestly say, this is the best comment summarizing the book and whole concept I've ever seen 😯👏🏻
loved your explanation, although I've been an army for a long time, I learned a lot from your comment, you seem like a very intelligent person :)
Don't touch it - don't touch it!!! its at this point I started laughing thinking "oh just wait" 😂😂😂
Same here! 🤣🤣
😆😆😆
Same 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@armywingsbts_ka how many of us had exactly the same thought. 😂
@@kesha2412 probably the whole famdon lol🤣🤣
The quote above the mirror:
"One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.”
Friedrich Nietzsche.
I feel like this entire video is Jim's brain freaking out haha. The entire wings album/era is based on the book Demian by Hermann Hesse. I hope you will watch the explanation video to the mv and song( video done by xceleste)
Demian is a book about becoming who one is, the loss of innocence, finding your true self.
I'm sorry I didn't know about it then.💜💜💜
In live , the highlights were choreography and vocals.
"You need some moisturizer" had me dead 😂😂😂
He isn't the first I've seen say that! LOL

Blood Sweat and Tears video and song were built and written based on Demian, a novel by Hermann Hesse which won a Nobel prize in literature back in 1946. I read this book (because of this Mv) and I'll try my best to interpret and summarise the story here.
There are sooo many imageries and jaw-dropping details on the MV that represent details in the book. But the point is this song is about the loss of innocence and temptation, about being a human and embracing both of your good and dark sides.
Jin represents Sinclair in this scenario. The scene where Jin kissed the statue (which I believe the representation of Abraxas, who is also V) means he seals the deal with the devil himself in order to fully embrace himself as a person who isn't perfect, full of flaws. The white and black doors represent the world of light and the real world. Suga playing piano represents Pistorius who was an organ player in the story. The phrase that RM read in English here was also taken from the book, page 26 (on the version that I read). It says "He too was a tempter, he too was a link to the second, the evil world with which I no longer have anything to do."
"He" here refers to Demian, that Sinclair once thought as a bad influence for him, maybe it's because Sinclair tried to deny his dark sides.
The book is heavily influenced by a Swiss philosopher and psychiatrist Carl Jung. One of his pupils was Hermann Hesse's doctor back then. This MV and song are also influenced by a german philosopher Nietzsche.
They literally make a lot of ARMY become smarter and read on classic literature like this because of them. lol. Welcome to the fandom!
(Please note once again that this is all my own interpretation after reading the book, take it with a grain of salt.)
Tons of art pieces are represented in that mv:
- Pieta (Michelangelo)
- The Fall of the Rebel Angels (Pieter Bruegel)
- Landscape with the Fall of Icarus (Pieter Bruegel)
- The Lament for Icarus (Herbert James Draper)
- Baroque Fresco (Giuaglio Quaglio)
- Perseus with the head of Medusa (Benvenuto Cellini)
- Livia Drusilla as Ops, goddess of fertility
- Laocoon and his Sons
- Crouching Venus
- Venus de Milo
- Venus at the Forge of Vulcan (Francesco Solimena)
- Ares Borghese
- Diana of Versailles
- Angelus Novus (Paul Klee)
- Regimental Band (Darsie Japp)
- French fashion photograph (Henri Manuel)
"What does this mean?!"
Hahaha, I am loving watching your thought process for the BU. And you are going to love the dance practice. 🥰💜
Same I was laughing in solidarity when he was almost screaming “don’t touch it! What is happening??” because we were all there the first time. 😂🤣
*V with the veil coming off - the unveiling of the true self / shedding the mask / fake persona
*JK on the swing - swinging between both sides/worlds.
Artworks from MV:
*'Pietà' by Michelangelo, or more of an altered version of it.
Thank you
It was V who jumped
V jumped while smiling. I think he was happy to jump into temptation.😉
No! No!! I swear this video put me through the ringer.
answering some of your questions without giving BU spoilers:
I think the museum is actually supposed to be V's house, he's in casual clothes like the robe, the others are wearing street clothes (not in the dance scenes as much but the story scenes. ) Vs wings were ripped off or whatever and put on the statue.
The dance practice for this is a must!
I love how you immediately smile when you hear the music 💜
This music video is ART. There's like 100 symbolisms in here. Explanation from diff experts have blown my mind video after video
Best song of 2016 ever. The unique sound
V is falling Angel.(Damian)
this is the most confusing MV for 1st timer. even me back then!. hahaha but this is the most requested song. glad that they did this song last LA concert.
Blood sweat and tears.... my fav mv. Thankyou
This song made even my mom a fan hahah the power
Vigo is the bad guy from Ghostbusters 2 that comes from the painting. I'm a little embarrassed I can remember that but forget so many useful things. 😂
6:50 V (taehyung)
This song and its video are related to Hermann Hesse's novel "Demian" about the awakening of adolescence.
This is the best reaction I watched for Blood Sweat and Tears.... Thank you!> 💜💜
Other armys may correct me but based on the novel's characters, Jin represents the protagonist Emil Sinclair who grew up in innocence.
Jims cursor going nuts while saying "you need some moisture man" I can't...
i laughed so hard at the "you need some moisturizer". by the way, did you notice that at the end the reflection of the flower is a completely different flower in the mirror? right before Jin's face starts cracking
I recommend it.
the entire album was based on " Damien" by Hermann Hess!! if you know the book, it makes a lot more sense lol
there are great explanation videos for this MV and i personally really liked the video called "Blood Sweat &Tears : what does it all mean? " by a channel called " don't worry i am not afraid"
Jim, I wanna recommend you watch the Japanese Version of this music video too - it's a crazy bringing together of all the elements of the HYYH storlyline up until this point and it's absolutely mindblowing if you recognize all the different call backs and opposite depictions of scenes we've already seen. You'll probably have to do it on twitch tho because their japanese label dishes out copyright strikes like free cookies lmao
With first time reactors, I anxiously wait for them to be shook when the Suga playing the organ, V’s torn wings, and “the kiss” scene starts. 😮😮😮😮
Me keep saying... Stop freaking out jim...😄
I’m cracking up whilst watching this🤣
We’ve all been there Jim. I was soooo confused the first few times I watched this. Took me a lot of reading, analyzing, and watching multiple explanation videos to fully understand the nuances😆
Love your reaction😂 The confusion, the frustration, yelling, screaming, yep, all relatable!
For someone who kept saying "I don't get" I have to say you get more than you think 😂
Great reaction! I'm looking forward to the stream on Sunday 💜💜
It’s about the pain of addictive love
😂🤣😂🤣 sorry jim 😅 i laugh so hard because of your reaction, thats also my reaction when i we watch that video 😆
Pls.
Anyways, happy to wake up to this reaction and I'll c u on Sunday!
been an army since march of 2017 and still have no idea wtf is going on 😭
I became an army last year when I first saw this music video I understood only half of it but after reading the comments of senior armies I understood it completely but yeah it is really difficult
I love BTS so much💜💜💜💜
This songs choreo is my fab choreo of all the songs as it's sensual yet powerful at the same time.
Also there are lots of deeper meanings behind every detail in them is MV including the fallen angel with black wings and the fight between temptation.
Also the MV has so many iden details that even to this day (I've seen it over a million times) I'm still finding new things and messages. Also Jimin in this era must be my fav as I just love how his voice sunda and that siler/Grey hair really suits him
You can find most of the answers to your questions in Demian 🤭 but there's a lot of explanation videos out there on RUclips.
One thing you may want to know that, the wings album has many interpretations, had BU meanings, each song has something from Demian (a book) also each of them represents a part of the self (map of the soul)
As suas reações são tão verdadeiras é engraçadas 😂, eu amo. Esse é um dos motivos de eu ser inscrita aqui
Haven't been able to check out the twitch stream, did anyone mention to watch Boy Meets Evil before watching the MV, its the trailer for the album
11:07 I'm not sure if you guys realize that the flower in the mirror is not the same.
It’s about the effects of alcohol temptation
"You need some moisturizer!!" said Jim to Jin's creepy-cracking face 😂😂😂
It was Taehyung who jumped.
man I watched this video the moment it dropped and let me tell you -- everyone reacted exactly the way you did HAHAHA and tbh until now, I don't think I fully understand this song. It's such a banger though. Also, Jungkook became an adult that year and they just went for the sexy theme straight away LMAO
This mv is so beautiful, mannnn
Maybe after the choreography try watching the parody they did for a BTS Festa they did
"you need some moisturizer" 😂😂😂
I came here again to hear you shout "Don't touch it! "😆😆😆
Lolz! enjoyed the reaction so much!!
What they ate doing with this music actually showcasing , Temptation in its finest chaoctic hour.We have been through these from our youngerself to this point in our life.So keep on reacting to yhem boys, you won't regret it😍😍
There is a really good explanation Video that explains it from the book View without the Bu spoilers
“You need some moisturiser!” 😂😂😂
You have arrived at the raving, arm waving stage.
He’s a fallen angel
Love this MV, it's amazing.....the temptations of youth and how it all falls apart! Of course it has deeper things going on, it's BTS. It was V who jumped off the balcony. Great song!
hahahah love your reaction as always💜
I haven't laughed this much in a while! 🤣🤣 Your reaction was SO RELATABLE! "What does this mean?" "Don't touch it! Don't touch it!" "You need some moisturizer!" I can't- 🤣
Fuck this is funny!!! Your freak-out is one of the best I've seen!
"...he's like sucked into some kind of dimension here...." 😂 sounded like you were back to ghostbuster
"WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?" hahahahahahah welcome to the wings era! XD
i love your confusion. Blood swear and tears is one of my fave eras, like the whole concepts and evrything is just way too good. Altho the song is not on my top 10 musically, is really and the whole performance and all just out of this world
Insert classic comment: BTS really just waited until Jungkook's turned 19 to make this lol
Also, you NEED to watch the "Wings tour trailer". If you like this MV, that little trailer is the peak cinematographic video released from this album and people usually forget about it
fyi, they made a parody of this mv and it was hillarious.. hope you can check it out
You: “Who rides a bike in a museum by the way?”
Us: “Suga. Suga definitely does.”
You: “I’m pretty sure you can’t do that.”
Us: “Suga can. Suga absolutely can.”
😂 😂 😂
OMG! I was saying the exact same thing! Haha
@@radsb right?! Great minds think alike 😂
OMG i was dying laughing...."Don't touch it!"
I love your reactions, mine was literally the same when I first watched it 😭😭 Anyways, read the book Demian by Hermann Hesse, besides being the biggest inspiration for Wings era, it's an amazing book.
Hahahaha he's as confused as everyone of us were when they dropped this album
"artsy, creepy, sexual, religious"
YES 😃
overall, Blood, Sweat and Tears is a presentation of different temptations that everyone have experienced in an artistic and aesthetic way
it's also the music video that everyone had the hard time to understand, and honestly, most of us still don't understand it, i guess it's just how you interpret it
Someone please link the explaination video to Blood, Sweat and Tears MV. So cute how confused he is.💜
It feels artsy. It feels creepy. It feels religious. It feels sexy. Truth. *Chef's kiss* because I almost peed myself laughing.
Suga and JK are dropping a song this 11th. Suga produced it. JK sings it. The teaser on their “7fates “channel
please watch to the explanation video of the mv.thank u
See no evil hear no evil. Speak no evil
In youtube there si a vídeo explaining the meaning of this song the Chanel is italian army.... she has a very interesting explain videos i know it's been a little times off this video but You should see them
The one smiling jumping off is V aka Taehyung not Suga
It definitely has that sexual energy. Suga even said something along the lines of him feeling unsure about the song, as it might be too sexual hahah
Almost a year since your last Nemophila reaction :(
This song changed kpop
