No, they are not tunnels. They are narrow passages, like very narrow arcades.

Beautiful pictures of a place that is very close to my heart but, for a viewer, sometimes uncomfortable to watch, especially when walking close to walls. Perhaps, in the future, consider including more shots with the camera still, allowing more time to take in and appreciate the beauty?

I understand what you mean. Saint-Saphorin is like a small compact fortress and the narrow passages can look a little bit confined.
