You can also put a layer of Desitin over his owie. It’s zinc and waterproof so he can get it wet and it will be protected from the sun. My boys were both on their swim team for years and that saved us from scars. Feel better soon Wyatt! Praying for you all!

I feel you with just going somewhere and sleeping. I have 2 kids who are a little older, 6 and 5, but I Homeschool and they get up at the crack of dawn. I am not a morning person and i don't normally get a lot of sleep because i go to bed late. I just want sleep!

You just helped me feel like I’m not alone. This past week I went through some completely different scenarios with my kids, but had the exact same thing happen where I had intrusive, anxious thoughts that have been really hard to overcome. I know I need to turn it all over to the Lord. Thank you for sharing your experience and helping me feel known by God. Sending best wishes, thoughts and prayers your way!
I’m a mom also but my kids are much older, 19 and 21. I still feel this way with them and they are adults now! I feel like I have to protect them and do everything for them. I think I honestly could use some guidance on how to let them go and live their lives. It’s hard, very hard for me. I’ve been a single mom for 18 yrs now so they are what has kept me going and gave me purpose. ❤ sending love and prayers to you ❤praying for your sweet dad! ❤

The hotel thing is what my parents used to do for birthdays or anniversaries. My mom would spend the night at the hotel by herself and then we would go swimming the next morning before checking out, just an idea ❤

I am so sorry that you are and have gone through so much recently. My little girl was bitten by a family members dog on her forehead, the bridge of her nose and upper lip. The dogs tooth shifted her two front teeth. Luckily she did not need stitches. The situation has traumatized her though as she fears when dogs bark at her (even our own dog scares her and she would never bite her). The hospital was so sweet and gave her a stuffed animal that she still snuggles with for security.
Your anxiety is so much like mine! When my son was in elementary school I would get a panic attack that some how my son was taken from the school. I would call and Pat the secretary would check and assure me he was fine. We lived in a very small mountain town,very safe. You hit it on the nail when you said giving it up and trusting in the Lord. That is the only thing that controls my anxiety now ,is going to the Lord and trusting in him!

❤❤❤❤❤❤ Prayers for your family are up and continuing. I am very sorry to hear about your precious Wyatt. I am happy he is not hurt worse. My son had a trach, scars on his face and feeding tube. The doctor told us to use Mederma. It helped, the scars are better not all the way gone but it helps. You have reminded me that I can not control the pain, the rejection and the scars they receive. I have to trust God fully that he is going to care for my babies. Thank you for the reminder and update on your life. Praying for restoration of your Dad's health, your health, your Mom's health, Wyatt's health, Leo's health, Atticus's health, Truett's health and Harold's health and career. Praying for you to sleep well. Praying for school for Truett, Leo and Wyatt to go well. Praying for Atticus to grow up healthy on all the baby milestones. In Jesus's name, Amen 🙏
Poor little Wyatt! I could not imagine what happened! I would've had a heart attack over that too! So sorry, sweetie! Thank goodness you got a plastic surgeon to do the closing of his wound. That is huge and will definitely help eliminate a lot of his scarring on his face, so that was a great thought to get that for Wyatt! ( : You did everything you could do to help him, and I know exactly what you mean, I love my kids and grandkids sooo much it hurts! Rachel keeping a band aid on is not going to be good for scar. Sun cream will protect the scar. However can you get a cream that contains Vit E that is the best to heal a scar. My Grandaughter just had chicken pox and typically had lots on her face. She had vit E and they are healing so well
As parents and more often Mothers we are front line when things happen and all you can do is Give it all to God he has a plan for all our lives.
She talked about how she’s taking care of it, so it’s pretty clear she knows what she’s doing.
Hi Rachel, I just wanted to let you know that if you put Oil of Olay SPF15 (I think 15 is what the hospital told me to put on my neck after surgery} it will help to keep it from being a dark scar. You rub it onto the incision or wound once it is scabbed over gently once a day. I did it every day for almost a year and the scar is barely noticeable. It worked for me. I didn't know if you knew about this or not. Sending hugs to you and your family. Take care. 🤗

My boys are adults and I still do the same thing when they get hurt and it is completely normal it will be that way for the rest of our lives and the lord has the plan we are just doing his work.

I was with my mom when the doctor told her she had lung cancer, just her & I & it was so hard, she passed in 1989 & it seems like yesterday, still very hard to deal with .

Give them worries to God and leave them in his hands trust in him. Like you said it is all out of your control and don't steal them back from God.

Actually, when it comes to what we go through in life, it's important to remember that those in the Bible who faithfully followed Christ went through hell on earth, and most paid with their lives; including Him, His apostles and disciples. It's amazing how many that claim to be following Him today, expect an easy, smooth path through life. So when viewed from that perspective, we really do not have a lot to complain about. These are normal life events experienced by virtually everyone. The easy path does not make us strong spiritually and otherwise. Also important to remember.

Just curious, was it one of your dogs? As dogs get older they are more aggressive cause they are sore and tired. Our Rottweiler will be 9. I am extra cautious of leaving my kids alone in a room with him.
Not one of ours, but a dog of a family member. It was storming outside so I think it made the dog anxious. But yes I 100% agree with you. We actually noticed Ranger and Tracker getting more aggressive toward one another as they’ve gotten older which worried me with the kids. Ranger got pretty protective over Atticus and I didn’t want the kids accidentally getting between them if they started to fight over something and get hurt. We did a little experiment and had Tracker stay with my parents for a couple weeks to see if it changed both the dogs behavior and it drastically did. They have both been a lot calmer. It was hard for me to make the decision because she’s my dog, but ultimately it has been better for the dogs and we still get to see her all the time and the dogs get to see each other too. Plus my parents have been wanting another dog after Boomer passed but also their hearts weren’t quite ready for a totally new one so having Tracker with them has been nice. She’s actually staying with us for a few weeks now though which is nice!
Also i was 3 feet away when it happened. Dog was on the couch and he was just standing next to the couch. I turned around to grab the diaper bag to leave and Wyatt screaming and when I turned around I saw his face.
I'm sorry this happened to your son. I'm glad he's feeling better and healing well. It's sad to see our dogs get like that as they get older. Especially since having them before you even had kids. I'm sure Tracker loves all the attention he gets from your parents. Sending lots of prayers for your dad.

Let the scar breathe inside if your putting a band aid on also treat it with a silicone dressing will stop scarring. Get ointment with silicone really helps with scarring his age will help and I promise it will heal.
There will always be things with kids. God protects you ask him you need to lean into God.

My daughter got bit in the face by a dog when she was 3. She needed 17 stitches right under her eye and on her cheek. She’s 6 now and you can barely see her scar! It’s so scary though. We kept a scar ointment on it anytime she was in the sun for a year. But now it looks great and she isn’t afraid of dogs in the slightest. I hope he heals quickly!
My daughter was bit in the face when she was 2, by a dachshund. Shes 11 now and theres still a small scar but its barely noticeable. I think it hurts us more than them when our babies are injured.
My daughter also got bit before 2 right on the cheek line. She's almost 3 now. May I ask if you put oil on it for help with the healing process? I'm doing it 3 times a day every day. Thankfully, it's getting smaller. I just get nervous for when she's older. I also agree it definitely hurts me more since it happened right by me. 😞 I'm sorry to comment on yours. I just don't know anyone else besides now.
@mirandajean6959 I believe I used coconut oil once the stitches came out. But I'm sure bio oil would be more effective

That old saying...when it rains, it pours..... you certainly have your hands full.. Have you ever thought about hiring someone to come during the day to help with the kids for a couple hours ? You could use that time to take a nap or get some things done that your wanting to do.. just a thought.. Pray things settle down a bit... you need some "mommy" time...God bless you Rachel 🙏
They talked about hiring a nanny before but not sure what happened with that. Life happens with ups and downs. They’re strong and will make it through it all.

Vitamin E oil helped my scar tremendously. Praying for you and your intrusive thoughts Rachel! The devil is a liar and will try to cast fear wherever he can. Like you said they are Gods children first and foremost and they have a hedge of protection over them. Praying for your dad and family and thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing your thoughts. It helps me feel less alone as a mother 🤍🙏🏼
