Brown trouts, pointy snouts

  • A couple of days sampling the superlative fly fishing for brown trout. Many trout caught, lost and missed. Some magnificent brown trout are brought to the net.
    Warning! The highly versatile adjective that starts with F features alarmingly frequently in this video. It is used to describe wonderment, disbelief and disappointment in all its forms. Something that Patrick and I experienced many times over the course of our trip.

    Is there anything better than seeing a trout stick its head out the water to take a dry fly? Nice to see a couple of “mature” gents enjoying themselves!

      Thanks. Yes we are getting a bit older but we still get frothy on trips like this one.

      Thanks Peter for the encouragement. The lucky green rod is a sage pulse 5 wt. it’s my ‘sole mate’ rod. I use it for everything.

    Amazing, Paul. Have you thought about refreshing the cork on your green stick?

      @@armandflies4650 only if the cork was twisting on the blank. I wouldn’t want to jinx it. It’s my lucky rod.

      Ah well can't argue with that. Let me know if you reconsider. I have some real high grade Portuguese cork, wod be happy to give her a makeover.
