- For the first time in 31 years, Ethiopia has qualified to the African Cup of Nations!
After a first leg 5-3 defeat in Khartoum in which the referee's terrible decisions including two of the most ridiculous penalty calls you have ever seen, Ethiopia were ready to destroy the Sudanese national team in Addis Ababa today.
The Sudanese simply sat back and defended with an anti football style while Ethiopia played her beautiful passing game that mesmerized her fans.
The game finished 0-0 at half time with the Ethiopians clearly the superior side.
But in the second half, St George striker Adane Girma headed in the 63rd minute a beautiful cross from Getaneh Kebede to send the fans into an uproar. 1-0 in Addis, 5-4 on aggregate meant only 1 goal away from glory.
2 minutes later history was made. Saladin Said scored after a poor Sudanese defensive clearance and Addis Ababa stadium exploded into joy at the sight of a dream.
A dream of ending a 31 year major international trophy drought.

We really have a connection. Ethiopians love Sudanese people and Sudanese music more than people of any other country. But do you know why Ethiopians like Sudanese music? It is b/c it is not odd to their ears b/c there is a connection. If you were to classify people of the world based on perseverance, Sudanese and Ethiopian will be in the same group. I personally feel we are one. Actually if u do research on ancient writings, you will find the connection. We were one under the Kushite kingdom.
