    The Landoll 800 Series looks incredibly efficient for loading and transporting heavy machinery. The direct-to-deck loading feature seems like a game-changer for improving safety and speed!

    This would be sweet for the Navy. There are so few equipment operators that are trained for the standard global drop necks. This seems to be a better choice.

    They make out detachable neck trailers are a new thing, it's been around since the 1970s! And before that Dyson trailers detached the rear axle/s instead.

      What's even more ridiculous, is they've been widely used here for decades, that I know of from experience, and I'm only a few decades old... Yet, it's somehow new and completely revolutionary, while still basically exactly the same. I guess cause it has air suspension adjustments instead of just hydraulic drop and then pick up for ride height, only thing I see really different from the old low boys.

    Screw that new grease system a mechanic needs to get under the trailer and inspect the trailer brake system and suspension. It's not about saving money or time. I want my trailer looked at during each service.

    • @coreyschmidt1647
      @coreyschmidt1647 8 лет назад +2

      +Michael Comins the brakes and suspension should be looked at every day if the person pulling the trailer does a proper pre trip inspection.

    • @cominsm
      @cominsm 8 лет назад

      +Corey Schmidt What do you do? work at McDonalds. So what you're trying to say it's the drivers responsibility to get under the trailer and look at the s cams bake shoes air lines brake drums and not the mechanic. I also see from your next post you know nothing about powder coating either, you have a comment about everything but know nothing about what you talk about. Typical

    • @coreyschmidt1647
      @coreyschmidt1647 8 лет назад +3

      Michael Comins you might want to consult the fhwa rule book before you act like I don't know what I'm talking about. As part of a proper pre trip inspection the driver shall inspect all major suspension and brake components for signs of wear or damage. Including: check brake drums for cracks or obvious distortion, linings for separation|missing|excessivly worn friction material, s cams and slack adjusters for play and signs of excessive wear, brake chambers for proper securement and signs of damage, all visible air lines for chafing, cracking, or any other damage.
      I'll tell you right now, over a decade of hauling equipment and running wreckers has taught me that a good driver will find more problems on a truck and trailer than a mechanic. Care to know why? Because a drivers license is dependent on it. If a truck gets inspected at a scale and there is a fault with the equipment the driver gets points on his license not the mechanic.
      Your comment makes me think you're one of those idiots that has a dually pick em up truck and pulls a gooseneck with a bobcat on it and thinks you're a big truck driver.
      And to my other comment about powdercoat, well as I said above over a decade of experience. I've pulled several different landoll products, currently a 330b slide axle. The problem with powdercoat is the fact that a semi trailer flexes, and after time the repeated flexing of the trailer causes the powdercoat to partially detach from the metal's surfacewhile staying intact as a covering for the trailer. Rock chips and cracks in this now free floating coating allow water to enter and hold moisture against the bare metal causing excessive corrosion. That effect is worsened here in the Midwest where salt is used for clearing snow. I've seen landoll trailers less than four years old with large amounts of corrosion more indicative of a trailer more than ten years old.
      So stfu! You loose! you get nothing! good day sir!

    Interesting apitong hardwood decking = min 9:03
    Why use wood on platform exposed at sun , rain , snow .. ? Stainless steel is much lighter, more durable .. The wood is cheaper than plastic resistant to harsh climates flexible in Tropical and Frozen winters ?
    This type of wood has been used for flooring in trucks for more than a half a century and has become an extremely popular choice amongst truck owners who want something that is durable, strong and still very affor .
    But wood burns if it comes on it gasoline and fire in case of accident , explosion in gas station, parking lot, or intentional arson .

    • @coreyschmidt1647
      @coreyschmidt1647 8 лет назад +3

      +Baron Local because wood is still the strongest lightest material available. Stainless decking of similar strength would not only weigh more but is also traction concern. The only other option with similar weight is extruded aluminum, but extruded aluminum has a relatively short fatigue life when compared to wood in a lo-boy application.

      ***** Maybe so but almost all "lowbed/machine" trailers here in europe are steered at atleast one of the axles and you go over 4 axels they are almost allways steered at all of the axels.

    • @garethifan1034
      @garethifan1034 10 лет назад

      Well that's just another point to consider..

    • @Puckgrinder85
      @Puckgrinder85 10 лет назад +2

      NibiZ_Sw3 Likely out of necessity due to tighter roads? Why introduce more items that can break/ wear out if we don't need it. There are steerable trailers here too, for the ones who need it, not really sure where you were going with that.

    I like the grease lines new access with line extension lines for grease ease. No reason ANY driver couldn't grease the wagon every week or so many miles? I'm no where saying regular service isn't needed but that could potentially keep wear to a minimum. Reducing in complete s cam and bushing rebuilds. Plus not having to remove hubs so you can do this repair so saving on seals and bearings having to be cleaned and re preloaded and locked down. Nice system

    I'd take an XL specialized XL70-HDG over a landoll any day of the week. Landolls RGN's are nowhere near elite. Just a rip off the 835 series is a 35 ton with 60k in a 12' concentrated and they want an arm leg and nut for them. I can get the same options for on the XL70-HDG and get 70k in a 10ft. So is the only word for these trailer really "elite"?
