I'm glad Kidman points out the director's sense of humour, I really enjoyed it about this film and I think I was the only one laughing at a lot of lines in the cinema even though they displayed brilliantly dry, amusing and dark sense of humour

Yeah I totally agree with the OP. After watching this movie I at first decided not to watch ANY reviews or commentaries because I knew they would miss the most subtle nuanced aspects that are definitely in the film - except that is impossible on YT because of what comes down the feed! LOL ...Anyway now that it's too late for me I will only say - people all assume they know what this story/movie is about; but they don't. It's a difficult movie, and I think it must have been VERY difficult for the actors to make. Trust me, it's worth money to see the key - ABSOLUTE key - turn in the movie's entire meaning... On one level it's all pretty obvious, and that's the only stuff that most comment-makers are focusing on. The Director gives it away right in here in this video above - but it's like that other 'big' movie 'As Good As It Gets;' the number of people compared to the godzillions who watched it, who realized Nicholson's character was NOT making his money from 'writing novels' is virtually exactly 'nil.' That was a morally terrible, an atrocious movie - this is exhilarating. This is a very clever movie.

I believe them when I see them. Great acting here. I love the awkwardness between them in the cheap hotel it's so reliable and the way both them don't know how to act around each other in this scene. Harris is so believable, his laugh when he says 'get on your knees'. I guess we all can relate to it in a new environment and new situations that embarrass us a little.👌

Just another film about kinky sex. So boring it has all been done before. No self respecting woman would let anyone treat her like this. I watched the film only because I was going to comment on it. She has taken her clothes of in films before. This film is bound to be loved by a bunch of botoxed wino hags. Utter garbage. No art at all , just the same message. Sex sells.

Bravery? It's lack of shame. These types of 50 Shades of Grey are degenerate filth and used when an actor or actresses career starts going down hill. Reveal more, do more lewd scenes etc.. It's the opposite of bravery it's desperation. With that said, Mrs Kidman is a wonderful actor in most other projects!

@MisterWealth Mostly All her films have nude scenes or sexual content! I just wonder at times how her husband or family deal with this! They say, she was protected or brave…what does that actually mean? I considered the movie x-rated/porn! That’s why I believe she wasn’t nominated! The academy must have thought so too! JMO!

One has to wonder if this movie was the tipping point for Keith Urban. The fact it was called Babygirl, his pet name for his wife that is tattooed on the back of his neck, must have been hard to watch. I really don’t understand why she would have ever accepted this role.

      Totally agree! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Poor Keith, it’s insulting. I believe he never cheated towards Nicole. This Film is the main cause as to why they are divorcing. What was she thinking?! It doesn’t matter if you’re an actress, at least have some respect to your marriage and decency for yourself. This is too much. She used to be one of my favorite actress, but this has gone too far and it changed the way I look at her. 😢

      @bettygossett2178 4 months ago +1

@MizMima She did many really good films. This movie was way more explicit. Sex from beginning to end. So I do not think you can say he knew what he was getting when he married her. This movie went too far. And apparently she does not want to stop regardless of his feelings.

The old folks... my husband & I watched this movie with my 84 year old mother who always falls asleep when we watch movies in the evening. She was really into this movie, and I could tell captivated at 84 years old. I kept looking over to see if she fell asleep & no, she was wide awake all the way through the entire movie.
My husband kept telling her to cover her eyes during the sexy scenes, but she wasn't gonna play that game.
What surprised me most was that she knew right away & said that he was touching her in her, "Trou de Cul" (in French).
The old folks will love this movie.

Bro I get it. I haven't seen the film yet but I get it. When you're super mom, super sister, super student, super boss, super academic, super everything in your life it gets tiring. It get tiring putting on the perfect act but it's al you've known your whole life. It's all you've been rewarded for so you internalise it. And that wild side of you cannot come out because you cannot disrupt the peace. You know so much relies on you, so the moment you meet someone who scratches that itch, the moment you see someone who meets you for who that animal is inside you, you wanna go for it.
And judging off the first 30 seconds of this clip I know exactly what is gonna be said in it and why this film happens. Again, haven't seen it yet going tomorrow to finally see it. But I get it.

I am sure she will have the spotlight as the victim. She did the same to Tom Cruise who left her when she got involved with Ewan McGregor while filming MR. She got pregnant and miscarried. .She still plays the victim with TC.

@Mimi-m1o2uExplain that to her husband. She was in an interview gushing about how many times filming was paused due to her multiple orgasms with her costar.

I loved this movie I wish I would have seen it earlier as I would have gone to see it twice or maybe three times. It brought out feelings in me similar to ñicoles character as and I found him very appealing quite the way she did. It was a very satisfying film and I wish I could have seen it again.

Nicole Kidman is a great actress but I have a hard time looking at too much work done on a face. I got the same feeling with the third Bridget Jones. Woulda rather seen Kate Winslett or a natural looking, aged face than all the botox. Bc it makes them look so clownish….

  • @marel.1766

OK, what did I miss? I thought the whole thing seemed stilted and unrealistic. Plus I couldn’t get over how awful Nicole Kidman’s mouth looked. It was so rubbery, and changing all the time!! she even looks different when she’s being interviewed! Her plastic surgeon or whomever is doing her filler needs to be fired!

I cannot stand her….I’ve seen a few of her movies and what stands out the most is the fakeness and the overacting it never seems natural I guess that’s what you get when your start in Hollywood wasn’t because of you 😮
