Kinda highly underestimate the love and cult following that Practical Magic has. This sequel has been wanted by many for a long time. Too much emphasis on original box office numbers.
Oh ok. I didn't realize the "love" and "cult following" for the film has actually been quantified, and therefore I could underestimate it. I assume you conducted or have the stats on a poll or study that was conducted analyzing "how many" people wanted a sequel, and for how long of a time period they have wanted that sequel.

Agree 1000%. I have loved this movie for years. It’s not a brainless comedy written for the masses. Perhaps that’s why it missed the tomato mark and the box office numbers. Who cares? It has a very devoted following. If you don’t get it then YOU are not the target audience. I landed here because I wanted info on this remake. But after asking for comments and then giving a defensive, knee-jerk response, it leaves me not wanting to return. We don’t expect you to like or understand everything, we do expect and demand respect when you ask for our opinions.

Magical world, strong bond of sisters, women coming together to support one another, traditions being passed down, magic, mystery, a unique small town, one of the most (maybe the most?) beautiful homes in a film ever….every time I watch this movie, I want to jump right into each scene and live in that world for a bit. I. Am. So. Incredibly. Excited.

Especially during the Halloween Season. Equal to or far greater than your mention of “Hocus Pocus.” There are so many ways to go with the continuation of the Owens Family Story, and sisters Gillian & Sally. Their lives, children… The Aunts! Played by the incomparable Dianne Wiest & Stockard Channing! All still with us and amenable to role reprisals. Since 1998, the original novel has spawned several Best Selling Novels. Including, “Magic Lessons,” “The Rules of Magic,” & “The Book of Magic.” All by original author Alice Hoffman. So while you don’t get the appeal and interest… MILLIONS of “Practical Magic” fans, including myself, all around the world are BEYOND THRILLED with this news!!!
I loved seeing Practical Magic in theaters; renting it on VHS & DVD from Blockbusters & Hollywood videos back in the day. It was a charming and rewatchable movie with romance, suspense, sisterhood and of course magic. Also (Sandra) Sally's two daughters were adorable and talented actresses. ❤
I love Practical Magic and I’m so happy Sandra and Nicole are making a part 2. Makes me even happier that it’s not about the money for those two or the studio, that means it’s all about the fans 👏

This guy is sometimes annoying. There are a lot of movies that don't make a lot of money, but they are great films. That's the difference between a superstar and an artist, an actor. They do it for the love of the work and the story. The story of Practical Magic is relatable. People trying to fit into a world that fears them and hates them. They want to find love and will do almost anything to get it. Sisters sticking together. These are themes that have stood the test of time. It's why it is a cult classic. If the movie really sucked no one would still be referencing it 26 years later.
Your letting you guy genes show. Practical Magic is the best. The actresses are stellar, I want all the clothes even after all these years, I want to live in that house, I want that garden, I want that greenhouse, I want to live in the town but embrace them as witches. I want to be in that phone tree. The music is top notch. I never met anyone who didn't like that movie except a few men. And they don't have to come😁

This was my childhood practical Magic I really enjoyed it since I was a kid back then I was always inspired by practical Magic it was about witchcraft magic energy love and a lot of charm and also it was about family bond before Charmed oh yes bring back practical Magic I cannot wait for practical Magic ?!

My mom and aunt went and saw practical magic 32 times in the threatres when it came out. It was constantly on in our house. Box office isn't an accurate reading on whether or not a movie is good
It's a wonderful life did not go over well in 1946 or 1947 but it has star longevity staying power a movie for all time and place. Because millions of Americans have bought the dvd's for Practical Magic and other reproduction venues over thirty years it is another movie about family people just adore and love. And once she began to realize that it was one of my favorite Sandra Bullock movies well that totally sold her on the idea she and Kidman have got to do this number two thing with Practical magic. And it better be a huge box office hit or my big butt is grass.

Was Sandra Bullock struggling for doing drama movies because it seems like she was struggling when she was on practical Magic but she is a good actress and also Nicole Kidman the sisters should be back together so I am happy that they do not bring their beef towards the audience because it brings bad energy to the fans because it's not like Shannon Holly and Rose are trying to feud with Alyssa because they should not bring their drama to the fans because it divides so I am happy that Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are coming together as true sisters
