I have photos of myself and my family in the 1970s standing, sitting and touching the stones at stonehenge before it was gated off, I feel lucky to have gotten so close to them, its unfortunate you have chosen the cold winter / rain months to have your holiday I hope you return and have a summer holiday to explore our countryside better and enjoy our history ❤🙂
Next summer we are planning to come back
I used to sit on and wonder around the stones as a child in the 60s. I also used to deliver food to that centre parks before I retired.
It's amazing how our childhood experiences shape who we are! Those memories must bring back so many feelings. Thanks for sharing!

I must say that I am so impressed that you hiked to the stones at Stone Henge! The first time I saw SH, you could still park across the road from it and you walked under a tunnel to get to it. Since they changed all of it, you can no longer drive passed so close to it anymore. It’s a lot nicer the way they have done it and we got to see it not long after it all opened. Been quite a few times since and I have only got to see it twice max in the sunshine, the rest all rainy and miserable. So you were right to listen to everyone to see it first then the museum. Looks like you had a fabulous time at Centre Parks and great fun when you went swimming 😂. Thanks for sharing 🙌❤

That was an Asian Lady Beetle and very bad for eco system. Sad they exist there too.
