Hi there, my wife & I have a vintage Merc 508d camper here in the UK. Got to say I loved watching your journey & the smile on your face reminds me of us when we are out in our old bus. Happy travels & take care.
We love hearing stories like these! Thanks so much for sharing. The 508 was a fantastic evolutionary step forward. Hope you are able to watch the other episodes in our L319D journey. Thanks again for watching and sharing your story. #KeepDriving !
This Mercedes Camper is a great find. I'd like to see how the paint buffs out, many years of grim on it now. What were your RPMs with the diesel climbing steep hills?
Thanks for watching. There's no tachometer on the Van so we didn't have a precise way to measure revs outside of sound and feel. Mercedes incorporated shift indicator point markings on the speedometer that signified when to shift so we trusted the manufacturer on the appropriate speed to change gears.
@@riverbluevert7814 We look forward to sharing this vintage van with lots of people at car shows and everywhere else that we can. That was one of the main purposes of buying it... to share it with others.
@@calfolk7381 Slow & Steady is the name of the game. When things got tough, we just dropped the old L319D into 2nd Gear and matted the throttle pedal and hoped that the summit was near.
I love Mercedes 319 and I love westfalia . Beautiful work .
Thanks for watching and your comment. I agree with your two loves! Hope you have a chance to watch our other episodes. #KeepDriving !
