    I keep coming back to this for a single snippet.
    "It _could_ die, but it would not _stay_ dead. It would shake off the rot and rise again."
    That one line, more than anything else in Destiny lore, cemented just how horrifying guardians are. Eldritch entities, born of corpses, infinitely repeating a cycle of death and rebirth as they slaughter countless scores in the name of an unknowable god.

      Its terrifying. And the death-defying is on TOP of the ability to use cosmic energies beyond that of any other being and slaughter foes by the hundreds without breaking a sweat. • @Crashbmaster0
      @Crashbmaster0 Год назад +1

      @@sircrimsonwolf7492 depends on their organs actually. Getting drunk is an effect of our organs not processing the alcohol completely, pretty sure it's the kidney that does this. Any lingering alcohol stays in the blood and gets carried to the brain. So if eliksni don't have a strong enough organ to process alcohol they can surely get drunk and be light weights. Though if their organs process better then they can hold their liquor.

    Like honestly, this cutscene and some of the lore (particularly that of the Survivor’s Epitaph) is just a tremendous representation of the horrors of war. Where one side sees a hero, the other sees a monster. Both Humanity and Eliksni have been locked in brutal conflict for centuries. Both sides have committed horrible atrocities in the name of victory, deterrence, and vengeance. No one’s hands are clean. Not Saint’s. Not Mithrax’s. Not even ours. This storyline deserves a fucking award. Not since ATLA has a story done such a good job of depicting war. Beautifully done.
    (Also, I just want to bring attention to the use of black and white in that cutscene. Saint is a warrior and hero of the Light, yet to the Eliksni he was a dark, monstrous figure. He was the only black figure in the scene too, showcasing him as the monster. Even his Ward of Dawn was still white, I believe representing the Eliksni’s continued faith and reverence for the Traveler and it’s power. They still viewed the Light as sacred, even though it was being used to destroy them. I love clever use of images, colors, etc to subtly drive a narrative point)

    I love how Saint is drawn from the perspective of the eliksni here. He has wider shoulders, has a tail, the spikes on his armor are much bigger and longer, and his ribbons look more like dead roots and branches. He's also like double his real height. In the game, he's about as tall as everyone else, so most likely around 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 10, but here he's double the size of a dreg. Dregs are 6 foot 4, meaning he is drawn as nearly 13 feet tall. Top tier cutscene.

    Some of the comments really tell you a lot about a person.
    Did the aggressive Fallen Houses deserve what happened to them? Yes of course.
    Is Saint now some evil guy we're not supposed to like anymore? No. It's called nuance.
    After Six Fronts and Twilight gap (which were committed by House Devils and maybe Kings not sure if they joined for that) Saint went on a revenge rampage and killed countless Fallen and Eliksni alike. Killed Kells and civilians alike.
    He did not care what House he was attacking (which at the time is reasonable, but still fucked up in hindsight) or if they even were aggressive in the first place.
    Now we know Mithrax wasn't always the symbol of peace and protection he now is. Saint and Mithrax both have a nuanced and storied pasts.
    There is no particular right or wrong side, the only right thing is to start working together (as we have done) and putting the past aside. Not all Guardians are ruthless killing machines, not all Eliksni have eaten babies.
    Nuance is what makes it interesting in the first place. Season of the Splicer was about seeing the other side of the coin for a change, open up your mind and understand that there is more than one view.
    Anyway, goated season of story telling. The introduction of Crow, Caitl and Mithrax really changed up our story. Having Saint back is also fantastic. Lightfall fell apart a bit in parts but I personally still believe that we were supposed to not understand most of it, sadly the writing didn't properly reflect that during the campaign but things came around in the post campaign. Really looking forward to the coming seasons as I'm highly convinced they will be about unraveling the Lightfall campaign and the whole "what now" scenario. Lightfall threw us into something we don't understand and made us lose, season of defiance is about recovering in the meantime and then we go into investigating what we can do about it.
