Circe by Madeline Miller | Book Review
Circe by Madeline Miller #1 New York Times bestseller...Was this Book worth the hype? This would fit within Witchathon TBR!
"Circe is a strange child-not powerful, like her father, nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers that she does possess power-the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters"
"A bold and subversive retelling of the goddess's story," this #1 New York Times bestseller "manages to be both epic and intimate in its scope, recasting the most infamous female figure from the Odyssey as a hero in her own right".

Good video. This book was like a coming of age story for me even though she’s immortal.
Ghost Reader Thanks and yes! It really was a coming of age story.
All my life i have been moving forward, and now I am here. I have a mortals voice. Now let me have the rest.
This is the first review I've watched that I agree with! For me, it was a good story but I did not feel empowered after reading. The first half of the story was very slow for me and I did not feel connected to the side characters such as Daedalus, Odysseus, or even her siblings. If felt very "tell, not show" for me. I also rated a 3.5!
yeah exactly. Good but still that missing element of connecting (for me)
I really love your style, your hair is beautiful and this review really helped me alot .,, thanks 😊
Circe was one of my favorite books of 2018. I thought her writing style was so evocative and unique. I really enjoyed your review! Thanks for the video!
Can definitely see why this was on many people’s faves
This was actually one of my favorite reads of the year! But I totally agree that it's not a novel you're desperate to reach the end of it. It's definitely all-around slower paced.
Thanks for sharing this great review!
Natalie Valentín-Espiet yes exactly! Also each “encounter” etc was stand alone in a way so there wasn’t that rush to finish it. Thanks so much for watching ❤️
I really relate to this review a lot - I felt very similar. I loved the second half, but I felt like the first half dragged a little for me, but the writing style was really something special so it kept me going!
It is one of my absolute favorite reads as well. I love mythology!
Circe is my favorite book so I’m SO glad you enjoyed it!!💜💜💜

I’ve seen lots of ppl reading this but I never picked it up. Sounds like a solid read tho.
Great review! It's on my TBR list and I plan to get to before year-end because it seems like it's appearing on a lot of 2018 "Best of..." lists.
Phyllis Rhodes yes that’s exactly what encouraged me to read it! While I thoroughly enjoyed / think it was great, I’ve read some pretty amazing books this year, so it won’t be making my personal list of “best of”s. ❤️
Just about to start it! Great Review! Thank you!!!
I just started reading it, and stopped around chapter 9 i think. It was just too slow for me
So glad you enjoyed this book its been on my TBR forever!
Select Pages yup, it was on mines for the longest too.

hasan lewis sounds cliche but it’s hard to say because I really read a little of everything. I do find I naturally gravitate towards fantasy/ sci fi, non fiction and fiction ... yikes and poetry 😩😂
LEFT ON READ yeah i feel u im more of a nonfiction black anthropology poety type of reader
