As a bass player myself, and a lifelong Wishbone fan i can relate to Martins superb playing, what a true inspiration to me and many others long may it continue
As a bassist myself, I've got to say WHAT AN AWESOMELY RICH BASS TONE. It's not a partial amount like most bass players, but the entire spectrum. The pick also brings out more harmonics.
This is the answer to your question. Because he quit or was fired in 1980. Depending on who you believe. The Original band reunited in 1987 - 90. Drummer Steve Upron retired. Martin quit again then Ted Turner. Leaving Andy Powell the last Original member in the band and owner of the name Wishbone Ash. Martin tried calling his new band Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash. He was sued by Andy. Stating it causes confusion with the fan base. Andy won his Court case. Martin now goes by the name Martin Turner ex Wishbone Ash. As well he should. Because that is what he is, an ex member. I wouldn't be surprised if your video gets blocked for posting it in a name that shouldn't be used.
One answer comes to mind is that Martin picked up a large affinity to alcohol for a while. It still haunts him a bit now in that he loses his pitch singing because it causes swelling in his head but it actually improves his activity on the bass neck so it is a quagmire as with me and many other folks. Wonderful job guys!!
As far as I'm concerned Alun, Wishbone Ash will always be Martin's not the other guy!. Martin's bass playing on this track just shows his class. Martin's band always has THREE guitars in harmony, not Two. :-)
Had tickets for that and couldn't go!! Am going to M'head for the 50th anniversary of Live Dates on Mch 10th.......making sure I don't miss it this time around...

Good on you Keith !! ... for uploading AND .for title "Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash ..........."
How did Martin ever lose the name WA when he and Steve started the band. He was the main writer and lead singer the Soul & Heart of WA.

Andy Powell this is the real Ash 🎼
Indeed there can be no Ash w/o Martin!
Long live the Osh!
This is free wheeling stuff like krawt rock you don't know where it's going to go.
Very Clever stuff 🎼
Sorta like No Mark, no GFR'
No Andy here.
The real Ash 🎼
