Travis is a dude who deserves more respect from this community. He's a dedicated journalist who never got his name on the billboards, but he's still going.
Also, Travis, not sure if you read this... But your work is amazing, your interviews is pretty much the best interviews ever and you just seem like one of the most awesome person ever. Eventhough you say that you're not a saint for helping liftlift, I think you are and denying it will only make you more of a nice humble person with a great heart. Thanks- Hope you read this.
Well now I'm finally presented the chance to fan boy over state of the league. I'm one of the few people that have been watching it ever since episode 1, and I've been spectating both Travis's and Peter's road to success. I saw the growth in both of you as people as you guys lived together. I can say that it actually makes me very happy so see the way turned out. Doublelift is now one of the best ad carries in the world and Travis is one of the best interviewers in the scene. Keep it up Travis!
Congratulations on 200k Travis! I remember watching this 6 years ago when I started to follow the scene :) glad you’re still around making great content
I got into League in early Season 10, got into International League in Season 11, and got into LCS in Season 12. This getting recommended to me today was so interesting; Travis has quickly become one of my favorite content creators.
6:50 only a true husbando material would remember what his waifu ate for dinner on their anniversary night. Travis you are the IRL support. We love you and i hope you find huge success, you kind soul
You've drastically changed Doublelift's life by allowing him a place to stay and I'm sure he is/will always be grateful when he reminisce about those times. You are a very humble, considerate, and good-hearted man. Not only does this action show that you have good intentions, but also that you genuinely want the best for others and love helping people. I really have so much respect and admiration for you.
Travis you are the fucking man. I used to not be able to stand you but over time you have really grown on me. I have a ton of respect for you now and i think you are fucking hilarious. I wish you good luck on your future endeavors... God bless
that was awesome to hear :) you guys really changed each others lives for the better! (im now thinking suddenly of that song For Good, from Wicked! hehe). good luck to both of u in the future! :D
Awesome video Travis. I really appreciate all of the hard work you have put into League of Legends and the community. I know the community can be hostile and many people have abandoned the community because of that, but it means a lot to me (and I'm sure a lot of other people) that you have stuck around and continue to put a lot of effort into everything you do. Thank you for everything you have done and I can't wait to see what the future holds for you and League of Legends!
Oh boy. This last sentence almost made me cry. People often forget that the "pros" arent some machines, a lot of them went through hard stuff in their lives to get to the point where they're at and that there is no need for all this hating stuff, which is going around. Your right. U arent a saint for helping out. Other persons would have done the same. But still YOU changed his situation and - praise karma - he kinda did the same for you. (Sorry for any mistakes, not a native speaker. e.e)
Travis, you are a bro! I have always enjoyed your content and all that you have given to the community! I have been in the League eSports scene for a little longer then you have and you have help shape it a lot! When SoTL was first starting, I even e-mailed you about being a writer for SoTL before you figured out fully what you wanted to do with it. Keep it up man!
He trash talks for the sake of esports. He talks about it in one of the interviews. Who would watch a conpetitive game where everyone is being super respectful and courteous? Trash talk makes competition exciting for the viewers.
Your a great person and I hope you know that. Taking in a complete stranger that had no money or anything to offer you and how much you changed for him. He learned so much from you, and we as a community can learn a lot from you. Thank you for showing us how to be a great person. I hope both you and Peter "Doublelift" will be very successful in life. 17:25, "Just help people, because it will just come back to help you." What a great way to live life.
I love you, Travis. Like really really love you in a "normal" non-sexual way. I know you are a good person and I respect you for everything you did to Doublelift, even though I dont like Doublelift. Keep it up
A previous video where you explained how you started, gave me the idea to start something similar on my own. For a very promising game that's still being developed. Not knowing that much people and general things, I found a buddy who wanted to co-host together with me and first few episodes went great. Then my buddy got in an argument with my gf and is just ignoring me now, so no more new episode xD
Travis; what a stand up guy. You do a nice thing that literally helps someone get their life together and you are too modest to give yourself a little credit; even more so that you give him credit for your career. You guys are the bromance story of LoL right now.
Travis, I stopped following LoL quite a while ago, and this just happened to be the first one of your videos I've watched in a while. I just have to say, Travis, you're a fucking stand up guy. You took this kid with pretty much no experience out in the world, and helped him out probably more than you'll ever know. People like you make the world go round.
I feel like the whole situation was perfect for each other. Doublelift was a rising star and needed a place to stay and Travis's career got off to a good start for taking in Doublelift.
Leaving the freezer door open increases the temperature of your room overall because your fridge tries harder to lower the internal temperature and spews the heat out from the back coils
Travis your Interviews are one of the major reasons I really started to gain interest in the whole competitive scene of LoL. You do a great job. Keep at it. :)
The best part about this whole video, was that he didn't ask me to subscibe to anything or to follow him or any of that. And for that, I will subscribe and follow him on twitter. Good job man.
I have to admit, when I first started watching LoL and esports back in September, I wasn't really a fan of you. However, after watching your interviews with the players over the 10 weeks of LCS I've been growing as a fan of yours each week. You always seem really genuine and do your best to provide honest coverage. With how you took in doublelift and helped him out it really shows how good of a guy you are and I respect you. I wrote this before I watched your video because I know youll be humble
I started watching your shit real early on. Its cool to see how much league grows but its awesome to remember the early days. Keep up the good work Travis.
I've done the same thing as you travis and it takes a lot to take in someone you don't know. I've done it 4 times and unfortunately the last two i should have not but as you said although we don't expect anything in return really or try getting anything out of it I know that some day the favor will be returned. Probably not by the same person but in some way when help is needed a hand will be there. Glad to see there are still humble people out there. Travis FTW
@stateoftheleague I have so much respect for you dude. Not everyone would take a chance letting someone live with them, and the fact that you really didn't know the kid at all and still gave him a home makes you a great human being. I'm glad to know their's people like you on this planet. We could use some more, but this story gives me faith in mankind.
You may not know me but I've been following you for a long time Travis. You're an excellent personality and I hope we could sit down and chat about a few things. If you'd rather not, thats fine, just wanted to extend a hand of support in your endeavors if you need it -Brokenshard
Stay awesome Travis! :3 I loved your interactions with Dblift and your State of the League when it first started, and I still love all of it today! Good luck!!!
Coming from a game where the community ended up becoming terrible it brings me joy that there are other games where communities are looking to help each other
Travis, you are a saint and not vicious. I hope in the future you can lift yourself double the amount that you are already. Don't think ever that you are an odd one because you xpecial. You go for your daydreamin' job in esports because you are in your element. You will always be the hot shot that we all know as long as you listen to your heartbeat. Dyrus.
I was wondering for the longest time why you and doublelift are such good friends, well now I know. You are such a nice guy Travis! Big up to you and best of luck in everything you do.
This was really cool. I started League around Season 3 or 4 I think so I did not know any of this. I just saw your interviews with DL and thought you guys were cool together but not how or why. I just found out about Yahoo closing its doors as well so I found your channel and looking at all this older material. I also did not recognize you without the beard at first! You might want to rewatch this video and see if it still resonates, I.E. your decision to get involved with E-sports etc and see if that helps with a decision on what to do next. Personally, I hope you decide to stick around doing League stuff. I love your interviews and I hope you continue with them with another company or perhaps your own. Best of luck.
Think about it though. If he hadn't answered that thread...Where would Doublelift be? He might not even be in Esports right now...like, dam. CLG would be entirely different. That is just awesome that Travis went out of his way and helped a guy. Really awesome on your part Travis, keep up the good work! :)
Wow this guy is awesome, I was unsure on my opinion of Doublelift, but after watching this I'm pretty sure he's one of my favorite players and he was so lucky to have Travis to help him get on his feet and to where he is today.
I miss State of the League very much, used to watch it every week for the whole thing after getting home from class. Hope one day we can do some State of the League specials with some of the pros you used to do it with.
I think the fact that you don't think anything of it makes it all the better. Not everyone would take in a rando off the internet. It's great that you both helped each other out though. Really nice story~
Travis is a dude who deserves more respect from this community. He's a dedicated journalist who never got his name on the billboards, but he's still going.
because people dont know about "his story"
itsJayy everyone knows the travis doublelift story
***** i wouldn't say so, lots of people nowadays are "new" to the competetive league scene and dunno much
But a LOT of people know he is.
i wont like this only cause it has 420 likes
Respect to you Travis. You have never shown yourself to be anything but a kindhearted, professional guy.
Travis...Best Support IRL!!! :P
Such a good person Travis! Much respect
This dude's humbleness is actually insane
RESPECT!
YOU DA REAL MVP, TRAVIS
Travis... you are great. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise

Randomly shows up on RUclips after 8 years :D

for some reason people think im 30 but im actually turning 24. laughed so hard for no reason...
Congratulations on 200k Travis! I remember watching this 6 years ago when I started to follow the scene :) glad you’re still around making great content
one of the people i would love to learn more about is Maplestreet.
still a better love story than twilight
enjoyed ur side of the story. good guy. both of you.
With your help, DL can get through the tough periode and now, we can enjoy his fantastic plays in LOL games, thank you Travis!
tfw you pick up a random kid on reddit, he ends up being the most famous player, and you make a career outta it
I got into League in early Season 10, got into International League in Season 11, and got into LCS in Season 12. This getting recommended to me today was so interesting; Travis has quickly become one of my favorite content creators.
Wow, I can't believe I'm finding out about this now.
idk how adopting and caring for someone a few years younger then you could be considered a small deal they're practically dad and son.
6:50 only a true husbando material would remember what his waifu ate for dinner on their anniversary night. Travis you are the IRL support. We love you and i hope you find huge success, you kind soul

all my respect to you travis

The last sentence? "Thank you for watching."?
Note that I'm just kidding here haha
HABBLOX
Yeah, i always cry at "thank you for watching" :P Having a hard time on YT since this is the last sentence in almost every vid.
Travis, you are a bro! I have always enjoyed your content and all that you have given to the community! "help people because it will come back" - wiseguy travis 2013

Travis is ugly Travis sucks? This guy is a god .... good job Travis you are awesome dont let them tell tell you what/who you are!
Real cool to hear your side of the living with Doublelift story, keep up the good interviews aswell!
dude, i have always "hated" doublelift because of all his trash talk but you are one hell of a bro. wish we had more people like you...
He trash talks for the sake of esports. He talks about it in one of the interviews. Who would watch a conpetitive game where everyone is being super respectful and courteous? Trash talk makes competition exciting for the viewers.

I just hope that one day, instead of sheltering stray LoL pros and casters, Travis will actually get a female roommate.
Travis; what a stand up guy. You do a nice thing that literally helps someone get their life together and you are too modest to give yourself a little credit; even more so that you give him credit for your career. You guys are the bromance story of LoL right now.
chubby nicholas cage?
lmao ur so right hahaha
Good luck Travis! I hope you find continued success in your career.
plot twist: Travis is Nicholas Cage's twin brother
Travis, I stopped following LoL quite a while ago, and this just happened to be the first one of your videos I've watched in a while. I just have to say, Travis, you're a fucking stand up guy. 9:22 still needs help picking out clothes fucking peter"
I feel like the whole situation was perfect for each other. Doublelift was a rising star and needed a place to stay and Travis's career got off to a good start for taking in Doublelift.
NICK CAGE IS THAT YOU?
I usually don't like vlogs but this one was really good and felt real compared to other vlogers. Good work~
Lol I've always wondered....are Travis and Doublelift together? I can't tell if it's just jokes or if they're actually implying it
No but there like best friends.
Tommy Smith They're!!! it's THEY'RE!!!! *dies in nazi grammar uniform*
I guess doublelift must just really appreciate what travis did for him. You know like if you rescue a baby animal or something
Phalepokepoke They're is they are... 'I can't tell if it's just jokes or if they are actually implying it' is still grammatically correct.

Why did you have to rip off jp.....
Travis your Interviews are one of the major reasons I really started to gain interest in the whole competitive scene of LoL. You do a great job. Keep at it. :)
i hope you guys did not have sex together.
+Gunsol Videos they did you can tell
The best part about this whole video, was that he didn't ask me to subscibe to anything or to follow him or any of that. And for that, I will subscribe and follow him on twitter. Good job man.
Things and stuff and things and stuff and things and stuff

You've earned my respect, and set an example for me. Maybe in the future, when I have an extra room, I'll help someone out.
dude I love you for your flexibility and ability to adapt to different and new people
much respect for you travis, alot of good things you have done for doublelift.

I've been watching your content since the beginning of SOTL. Respect to the highest level for you man.

Wait I'm like a Mission Viejo native so hearing how this story literally took place in the Irvine Spectrum is like... insane...
Wow this guy is awesome, I was unsure on my opinion of Doublelift, but after watching this I'm pretty sure he's one of my favorite players and he was so lucky to have Travis to help him get on his feet and to where he is today.
Down at the core of you, you are truly a good person. The greatest comment out of the everything you said was Help people!!!
and the way you bought liquids for krepo and yellowpete when you went shopping ..so generous
You bought him dinner too. Dude you are such an awesome dude. Mucho respect man!
you're such a great guy travis. i really admire everything you've done for doublelift.

You're a really nice person Travis, keep up with the great work. The community will support you whenever you want it.
I appreciate you giving doublelift so much praise. It's nice to see :)
Dude huge respect to you travis! Doubleift is my favorite league player and is the reason i started playing.
It is because you are very professional that people see you as older I believe! Your interviews are the bees knees!

Travis, so much respect man, so much respect! You are awesome, never doubt yourself. Holy shiet, i actually teared up at the end.
I think the fact that you don't think anything of it makes it all the better. Not everyone would take in a rando off the internet. It's great that you both helped each other out though. Really nice story~
