- We're back playing War Thunder Chinese tech tree vehicles. This time I'll be doing from max to ultra low graphics settings challenge. Each time I'll get destroyed, I'll reduce my settings.
I'm playing with Chinese WZ305(anti-air), PTL02(light tank), ZTZ59A,Type 59, and type 69(medium tanks)in ground realistic battles. War Thunder Danger Zone gameplay.

Yeah man! This game is so dumb! Rendering Tanks first, then trees and bushes! Huge advantage for CAS too.
Don't Mistook me but my pc is from 2017 and it works with 32 FPS and have to set the Graphics on low

I'm on Lenovo M93p. i5-4570T, HD4600 (IGP), 8GB 1300 DDR3. All graphics setting min/off, resolution at 1280x800 (monitor is 1920x1200)
I'd say 4/7 games is above 24fps
Am tempted to fling $100 to China for an i5-4690T
Laptop with a 10th gen i7 (!) but a MX250 for the GPU lol

18:28 It became less blurry because TAA was blurring and merging pixels with each other to make it "smooth". I hate that anti-aliasing option btw, I prefer HQ FXAA paired with SSAA. After some minor update after latest major update SSAA started killing my FPS though
TAA is always better than FXAA imo, it's better at anti-aliasing small lines like power cables or chain link fences. SSAA is the best but good TAA can match SSAA in quality without the performance penalty.

Yo Dollar im gonna share my wisdome with you. At 1:19 you dont have to go to the map, just press alt(to show your cursor) and press on minimap where you want to designate.
Edit: i have never seen somebody use it like that... It is faster and you keep sight on the battle

I always use big map, unless I am just guessing. It's way more precise to use big map, especially in cities it is so important. You could say you should use arty from the 3rd person view instead of the map view. It would let me keep sight on the battle but the accuracy goes out of the window.

Love this video as it showcases how much certain graphics settings can give an advantage... I run on a 2060 Super OC (8Gb VRAM), and I play with some wonky low and ultra settings...
For those curious here's the "optimal gaming" list I've come to after months of experimentation.
Anisotropy: 8x or 16x
Anti-Aliasing: Use this to your GPU's pref SSAA: I use 4x.
Texture Quality: High
Shadow Quality: Low (You want to use Low as shadows are what most often conceals tanks and High will make shadows deeper, darker, and more uniform/precise.)
Render Res: Max Small shadows: Min
Terrain Quality: Min (0%) Terrain Deformation: High
Tree Range: Min Tire Tracks: High
Particle density: Low (25%) Water Quality: High (But if you play ships a lot, you may want low)
Grass: Min Cloud Quality (in flight): Mid
SSAO Quality: Min or Mid (As with shadows this setting helps conceal tanks in shadow even more.) Clouds( on ground): Low
Reflections Quality: Min or Max, depending if you have SSAO enabled. Displacement: Low
Checkbox list on Right:
Shadows: You can have this on if you want a little more "fairness", and the game to look prettier than fugly. If you want a full "legal haxorz" feel, keep this off.
Obj Shadows: Off
Shadows on effects: Off or On if you got the GPU. (These shadows barely matter for cover.)
Advanced Shore: On
Haze: Off
Soft Particles: Off
Terrain far details: Off (But careful this will not render fences, trees, and even buildings, and allow you to see the enemy at times. If you use HEAT/HE/HESH, you gotta know the map.)
Lens Flare: Off
Suspension ANimations: On
Detailed Foliage: Off (THIS IS HUGE, I Highly suggest even if you think this list is dumb, turn this off and see the difference in heavy bushed/forested maps. :D )
HDR: User set-up dependent. (But TBH HDR makes it so darks can be darker, and is great for shadows/screen archery. But it makes tanks more stealthy on ur screen. User preference tho.)

It feels nostalgic seeing people talking about having computers that can only run this on ULQ at 30 fps, brings me back. Im definitely blessed that I now have a well playing job and now it runs it ridiculously well

i made an autohotkey script for cases like this. I press a shortcut and a popup with a text box appears where i type whatever i want to be reminded. Then the script detects when the battle is over and a message box pops up with that text.
I like it because i always remember something right after joining a battle and when i go back to the hangar i immediately click the orange button without thinking

Finally, a gameplay that show the ultra-low perks... For the enemy of course. As a mac player in ultra-low, you miss the graph glitch where the pixels go crazy and a plane landed in the airport makes you unable to play.
That's a nice challenge you can try.

For those who are wondering how PTP86 flies miles away from the center of the reticle- someone in the devs think this gun is the same as the one on the "nice" tank (ZTZ69) and used the same shell disperse as it (which is more than a disgrace as T-12 or PTP73/86 should perform way better than 69's 100mm gun); reported for a bug fix with some documents from PLAGF but still waiting for the fix (said to be fixed at internal dev servers but never dropped into official client)
It’s funny if you think about it, that even after reducing all settings to minimum it basically still looks as good as games got just 15 years ago.

Well this Chinese AA has VT rounds so you don't need to be very accurate. That's why ;)
I once played PUBG at like 256x144 (effectively an SNES, 1440p but then I changed the config INI files to play at 10% resolution). I was recording it for a montage to compare it to an old DOS game I used to play called Big Red Racing. Just driving around a jeep, having fun. And then, before I knew it, I was down to the last 5 players or so. Killed a guy (who was only a shadow of pixels) with a crossbow, and ended up #2 place in the match. I had an actual headache from sweating so hard and squinting at the screen.

@@robertharris6092 What you mean? PE-8 is amazing everywhere simply, because a 5 tons bomb is good everywhere. Well, how your teammates defend it though is another story, but you should be able to get a bomb in the battlefield atleast.

I like how there is a vid to remove bushes from game files even the bushes on tanks. Makes it fair for people that don't like pay to win :)
Gaijin should Block graphics options for crossplay. Only minimum options allowed are the same as for console and if you cant do that no crossplay.
War Thunder, only every time I die, I crank the graphics down :D

Creepy thing is that I turned my graphics to low and then raged after getting shot by bs and so I put on yt and this is the first video i see
I went from 4K max settings ~130 FPS to 4K min settings ~60 FPS. Seems in max settings u have way more load on the CPU while on min settings u have way more load in GPU.
5:54 I used to get excited when I get 5 kills in a game, but 2m 55seconds into a match??? WHAT!! Clearly dollar is playing on a MUCH lower difficulty that I am playing
