Don't get me wrong, this was an awesome video and I loved it but... it had so much potential to be better, the beginning, absolutely amazing and when he charged in with the hatchet, that was great. but you should've followed the hotline rules more, maybe get the trainer and manage the cops a bit to where it wasn't flooded with guys so it you had less of a chance of being hit so often, one or two bullets are fine but when jacket is getting loaded with bullets it just takes away from the hotline experience. now that I'm done bitching, awesome job man :)
nedghgh Thanks man, i agree. Though during the time i made this video there were absolutely 0 mods out, so i had to do the best with what i had. I really tried to avoid showing shots when the character got shot but it would take out way too much of the action packed scenes so it had to be like this. I wrote a month ago that I really wish there was a simple mod to take out the blood that comes from the character when he gets hit, this simple feature should even be an update for the video editor in my opinion. The Video Editor is great but it's missing a lot of things imo.
nedghgh Houratronic I'm sorry to have to do some "bitching" too, but for a better immersion you should have used a Ruiner (which is a Delorean DMC-12, Jacket's car, on grey-black)
Houratronic I think part of the problem was taking the action to the roof, a flat area with virtually no cover or room for creative choreography. The atmosphere was intense and spot-on, though, and your music choice fits perfectly. Nice job, given the tools available.
Karl Seaton It's the unwritten rule. Every GTAIV player had a hospital shootout at least a couple of times. That's all i would do after beating it a couple of times.
cee aremendi Playing with Niko I usually kept all the patients and doctors alike as hostages (whoever ran,I killed them) but when The Ballad of Gay Tony came out with the LMG...man oh man I became a monster when I shot one of those at the hospital
SoCalledDante You're not alone man, everyone got their sociopathic mass murderer on their inside. Now I murder everyone on Grove Street as Franklin,I murder every Balla on the block as mercilessly as possible.
+Teddy The Gamer hello! im here to a question... why you guys love mlp i will not judge but i still dont understand what is the best part of that cartoon ok bye! :)
That was fucking brilliant! I've love a sequel! There's only 2 things which stopped it being flawless: 1. I think you should've used the original Hotline Miami style cryptic 50 blessings messages. They've got this surreal quality which "Kill the pigs" doesn't quite match. 2. In scenes where you see the character getting shot at, the camera should focus less on him. Seeing huge blood spurts come out of him while he stays unharmed is a little jarring. Nonetheless, this was fantastic! Liked, favourited, subscribed.
MetrotomX5 Hey dude, thanks! 1. Yeah but i decided to go really simple with this one, doing it in a kind of ''GTA'' style instead. So this is pretty much hotline miami mixed with GTA. Might do another one which will be more in detail! 2. Yeah but i wanted to have a lot of focus on him. The directors mode is great but it's still kinda limited... I wish there was a simple option as just turning off the blood on the character when getting shot at. Hope they'll add stuff like this in a future update or so.
Okay a few things that ruined this video the phonecall would never say what do you actually have to do. In this instance it would say something like "Hi! We need to deliver pizza at the Los Santos police station. Make sure everyone gets a slice!" Also, jacket was absorbing bullets like a sponge. If you have played HM you know it's realistic in the way that 1 bullet = death. Also you had a great opportunity to show his retry option by for example showing him run out of cover and getting gunned down instantly and then showing he's still in the cover and tries alternate route.
+VindicareAssassin Hotline Miami is actually unrealistic in the whole 1 bullet = death thing. It can take up to 25 shots from a handgun to kill somebody instantly like we see in the game. Plus, a lot of the shots from the AI involves extreme accuracy on a whim.
+VindicareAssassin Actually that isn't true. People don't die from a single shot unless it hits a vital organ. On the other hand, depending on the persons adrenaline and pain tolerance, it depends on whether you can actually take a shot or not. There are stories of people who have been in a fight and were shot and didn't realize it till like 20 minutes after the fight. Yeah, if you are just a random person walking down the street and you get shot all of a sudden, you are going down, but if you are in a fight or have a lot of adrenaline you can take a hit if it doesn't hit any vitals. Size of the bullet doesn't matter either, it just gives a higher percent chance that it will hit a vital. The bigger the bullet the higher the percent chance.
Good work, but it lacks in some parts of the game and the character. - he should rather have blonde short hair, fingerless white gloves and a turqoise/neon blue shirt (crew color). maybe give him a pig mask because its on the game cover. - the calls aren't normally so direct and personal. rather let a company ask him to do "normal" jobs like killing bugs . - he took too many bullets and missed some shots. maybe you can get a mod to slow down time so you can place your shots better. - most cops in the scene just vanished. it felt like he is running around killing cops and suddently every cop is just gone. other than that, great job.
VerySexy Douchebag It would have been perfect if it was shown that he didn't got hit and killing everyone else, that was the spirit of Hotline Miami. This is my only complain
Fucking awesome job. Really got some chills in the atmosphere of the movie. Joining the nedghgh in terms of fight sequences, but it doesn't take much away from the overall awesomeness of this little video ;] Have you ever studied cinematography? the framing of most of the shots is almost industry-like ;D
Wow! You possess serious talent! My hat is off to you, good sir! Still can't stop watching "The Thief" but this is equally incredible in a different way! Thank you for your efforts, they're greatly appreciated!
Technically this isn't a Machinima, because you're not signed with them. But it's a good thing you didn't sign with them, cuz once you're in, it's incredibly hard to get out.
Ugh i can't believe so many people don't already know that the saying ''Machinima'' is just a combination of the words ''Machine'' and ''Cinema' and is a movie genre... It has nothing to do with the youtube brand ''Machinima''. And if you look at some of my previous videos, you'll see i've already been signed with them back in the days, and it isn't so hard to get out.
HOLY FUCK! THAT WAS SOOOO GOOOOD. Seriously that was fucking beautiful. The cinematics were great and the usage of the soundtrack was orgasmic! You really hit my 80' neo-synthwave G-spot! I subscribed. Please make more videos like this. PS. The hatchet fight scene was so beautifully directed, I swear I got goosebumps.
WOAH, the music is spot on! Love the whole atmosphere. Very impressive, knowing that the game has only been out for a shot while on PC (thus having the editor for a short while to mess around with).
this is so killer, the entire beginning before the title gve me chills and i especially loved the shots at 1:36 and 1:53. If hotline miami were a movie i hope itd be just like this. :)
Rather impressive, you really made this work amazingly well, only things that could've been done better imo were : doing something with the mask selection and showing different masks different powers like in the game, having a scene with the "Biker" and his Cleaver (hatchet here), trying to take less impacts (using a mask power could've explained the resistance to gunfire) and finally maybe making use of a combo/point system. Would've been a lot of work and I'm sure you've already put in a lot for this, but if you were to make a sequel to this, that's what I'd love to see improved :D Oh and the driving, editing and overall composition of this machinima were all on point, you've nailed it.
This video truly is a masterpiece. As a huge hotline miami fan I've got to say this was quite similar to the level in the game, the cut scenes were perfect and the ending scilence then music was spot-on! Amazing job!
The only real problem I had with this was that he got the call about what to do/ where to go after he was already at the spot. The guy on the phone always says something like... "I need a babysitter to watch these crazy kids! Come to 123 Fake st. and make sure to bring some toys." But anyway this was epic and I love both games so to see them come together was a treat.
Zac Fitzgerald There was many "real" problems. Firstly, I've never seen jacket survive more than 15 Bullets into him. Secondly, He doesn't kill Swat Officers, As far as I know - just knocks them down. Thirdly, 50 Blessing's would have no interest in this Police Station, since it wouldn't make tentions between America and Russian worsen. Fourth, The car "Jacket" drives, isn't at like his In-game Delorean. That's a short list of problems.
captain pancake Nope, defintly none in hotline Miami 2 and most likely not in Hotline Miami The first game and no swat officers were killed ever in the entire series.
This is one of my favourite videos to come out of the editor so far, great stuff! I would like to point some of my favourite parts and some parts that could be improved on if that's alright; - The intro was very good, anyone who knows the Hotline Miami story definitely gets the feeling in the beginning there, but I feel like the transition into the next segment with the Hotline Miami intro clip was very sudden and could have been smoothed out a bit better. - The part where he busts into the department wielding the axe was incredibly badass. Loved it. - I feel the roof scene went on a bit too long, a lot of him running around the air vent that could have been cut. I know a lot of Hotline is maneuvering around things but since we're not playing anything and just watching it kind of dragged on.- Obviously since this is GTA and not Hotline Miami, a lot of the Hotline rules are broken as pointed out by other comments (example being he clearly gets shot an immense amount of times.) I don't know shit about the editor so I don't know if there's a way around that but it definitely was a little offsetting. Maybe it could be fixed with less shots of him while he's getting shot at and have his frames be where he's running, or when he's shooting just have the gun/arms in view. Like I said though, this is GTA and not everything can be done which is very understandable. - The music from Carpenter Brut was super perfect. - My favourite part cinematically was 5:47. I don't know, something about that frame where the officers aren't visibly shot, and you just see the splatter on the window with the gunshot sounds, then having the bodies open the door for the main guy was just fantastic. - At the end where he just stands and looks around at what he's done is another great part. With the mask on it kind of makes you think about what he's feeling and again captures the strange emotions the Hotline game gives off. Him driving away with the mask still on and zooming into it was also really well done. I really loved this and look forward to more stuff from you! Keep it up.
That was absolutely astounding! this is exactly the kind of video that I was looking forward to make when I first found out about the Rockstar Editor, but ah, you beat me to it. Impressive work though! :D
This is one reason I need to get a good PC Rig so I can get GTA V and make a machinima like this. Great job dude! I have no idea how extensive the GTA V video editor is, but it is waaaaay more extensive than the GTA IV one is.Huge kudos from me man. Great work.
I never even knew cops dragged downed or dead buddies away and dam im glad you got to grips with the editor im struggling but im sure its only going to take practice you sir earn a new subscriber and congrats for being on the front page of Rockstar Social Club if you ever need actors id love to help you out ^^
+Thomas Sullivan Yep that's right. I was truly suprised by seeing that when messing around with that clip in the Editor. I didn't know it was something NPC's could do either until i saw it in the editor!
This video was just perfect :') Rasmus mask is one of the most useful :P The only thing I think you missed was that when the camera focused, you missed to put "Chapter complete!" And "Go to the Car!" message
Very nice! You got the hotline miami feeling down perfect. Now if only rockstar would make some more interiors we could actually make a GTA hotline miami game that would be the best game in the world.
These are one of those movies that make me think that this could be used for standalone films with their own story line and characters with quality like this!
Hmm. Good work. Actually working on a mini movie right now for gta v/hotline Miami. I'm still writing out the story but I'm taking my time with it. Cheers.
DUDE PLEASE make more videos using the editor! I've been scouring RUclips for new videos using the video editor, yours are by far the best I've seen there's this one Foreign guy who has 2 good videos but yours is like watching a movie! Keep'em coming!
Haiven Crowe ikr But fuck Dennation they said they were ending off Halloween.... BOOM 2 REMAKES AND A NEW ONE ABOUT TO COME OUT. So hopefully this story goes on it isnt hard to make a shit ton of pixels of blood
Good to see that jacket's brown and cream varsity jacket is now finally in the game, now all we need is a good rubber rooster mask and the outfit will be perfect!
Hotline Miami. The game where you can totally get shot over 50 times and live.
One does not simply Kill Jacket
Brendyrose Also totally the game where you can fire over 100 shotgun rounds
You obviously haven't played the game
Tw1sty The Clown Sarcasm do you speak it m8?
***** Maybe they should make a mod that does that for machinimas
Everything in this clip made me go WOW THAT'S AWESOME except for one thing - main character gets hit like every second.
Me too
Don't get me wrong, this was an awesome video and I loved it but... it had so much potential to be better, the beginning, absolutely amazing and when he charged in with the hatchet, that was great. but you should've followed the hotline rules more, maybe get the trainer and manage the cops a bit to where it wasn't flooded with guys so it you had less of a chance of being hit so often, one or two bullets are fine but when jacket is getting loaded with bullets it just takes away from the hotline experience. now that I'm done bitching, awesome job man :)

He was born with thick skin
+King Shepherd I got the reference. HLM2 FTW!
Gotta get a grip
Because he isn't hotline miami jacket but payday 2 jacket
3:44 - I got GTA IV Nostalgia from my police standoffs in the hospital.
Karl Seaton It's the unwritten rule. Every GTAIV player had a hospital shootout at least a couple of times. That's all i would do after beating it a couple of times.

SoCalledDante You're not alone man, everyone got their sociopathic mass murderer on their inside. Now I murder everyone on Grove Street as Franklin,I murder every Balla on the block as mercilessly as possible.
XD I wish it didn't show him take so many bullets
LightningSword13 it'd give me that good feeling of real hotline miami
Yea
You wouldn't understand, it wasn't in a cinematic
Okay, bullshit, not even Earl can survive that many bullets!
In all seriousness, great job!
It would be better if this FUCKIN MASK wasnt reminding me vanoss
ikr
Hotline Los Santos: Right Number

You need to know your facts, dude. That's Pinkie Pie.
+Alpha Brony I know i'm a brony too!
+Teddy The Gamer hello! im here to a question... why you guys love mlp i will not judge but i still dont understand what is the best part of that cartoon ok bye! :)
Charles The Cursed ... Ok thanks!
0:00 Flatline - Scattle
1:09 Anarchy Road - Carpenter Brut
2:47 Turbo Killer - Carpenter Brut
6:13 Miami - Jasper Byrne
Tnx...
Excessive use of Carpenter Brut.
I approve.
Hell yeah!
MattShea Thanks for the support Matt!
+Houratronic LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!
You're back!!! Been a fan since 2009! You introduced me to Foreign Beggars.
Haha that's crazy man. Haven't got the time to make any more videos though sadly.
That was fucking brilliant! I've love a sequel!

Dude, why is the main character wearing a Vanoss mask?
This is basically a love letter to both Hotline Miami and GTA V at the same time.
Awesome video.
Okay a few things that ruined this video

RenamedLORD Jacket is a ginger.
Sir Bellic No, he's blonde. Check the wiki.
Charlie Way Oh Ye, I was referring to pd2 :P
Sir Bellic first you disagree with jacket can't kill cops and now you say he's a ginger... Am very disappointed
Spodermen X The fuck are you talking about...
Awesome! Great work, one of the best GTA V machinimas I have seen so far!
Eh, it didnit have to abide by the miami hotline rules and such.
It's not bad, but it could be better.
VerySexy Douchebag Thanks for your input, Douchebag.
Randy Jones Happy to help, Randy.
VerySexy Douchebag It would have been perfect if it was shown that he didn't got hit and killing everyone else, that was the spirit of Hotline Miami. This is my only complain
VerySexy Douchebag To be fair, it would be really difficult to have it abide by the one shot rule and such.
IEcLiPsEI95 Jacket can't kill police officers.
I Hope you realize this is a game
+gedozvon Thanks man,
Yeah i studied cinematography but it's quite a long time ago now though.
Happy you think so!
+Houratronic Did you use mods or did just have a shit ton of amour! Even if you did use mods this was so badass!
+gedozvon Что ты тут делаешь?Неожидал тебя здесь увидеть.)
о, привет
4:40 made me laugh, he tries to dodge but still gets shot so many times :DD

Amazing editing and directing. Keep up the good work!
Best part for me was the driving sequence. Very cool angles, great track and superb atmosphere. Keep it up, this was A-class.
Really impressive! Inspirational :D
This was pretty cool, actually got a Hotline Miami vibe every once in a while, good video!
Really good! I'm loving the synthwave genre music. Pure awesomeness.
This is freaking badass and so authentic to the game!!
WOAH, the music is spot on! Love the whole atmosphere. Very impressive, knowing that the game has only been out for a shot while on PC (thus having the editor for a short while to mess around with).
This is amazing!!! Keep up this up! HOTLINE MIAMI ALL THE WAY
this is so killer, the entire beginning before the title gve me chills and i especially loved the shots at 1:36 and 1:53. If hotline miami were a movie i hope itd be just like this. :)
I haven't played Hotline Miami very much, but this is awesome! Please make more of these!
Glad to see that I'm not the only one who wanted to do a hotline Miami Machinima in GTA thanks for giving me a bigger step to actually doing it
Rather impressive, you really made this work amazingly well, only things that could've been done better imo were : doing something with the mask selection and showing different masks different powers like in the game, having a scene with the "Biker" and his Cleaver (hatchet here), trying to take less impacts (using a mask power could've explained the resistance to gunfire) and finally maybe making use of a combo/point system. Would've been a lot of work and I'm sure you've already put in a lot for this, but if you were to make a sequel to this, that's what I'd love to see improved :D
Oh and the driving, editing and overall composition of this machinima were all on point, you've nailed it.
This was so cool! The Music, the Action, the ending, everything was amazing! Good Job!
The top-down camera shot was a really nice touch!
damn. You're the reason why I made cinematics bro! amazing!
Really liked it, I find the editor really fun to use, with mods coming out, who knows what can be done.
This video truly is a masterpiece. As a huge hotline miami fan I've got to say this was quite similar to the level in the game, the cut scenes were perfect and the ending scilence then music was spot-on! Amazing job!
This has to be one of my favorite GTA V machinimas! Great work, man!
You just earned a sub. Your videos are amazing, the time and effort you put into them is clearly shown.

Sir Bellic Not everything is gonna be perfect. Making a machinima is not as easy as it seems. I thought it was awesome in my opinion.
Seth -9 I found it very flawed, I know machinimas are fairly uneasy to create but this one is very flawed.
Holy fuck. Quite a few people made stuff like this, but this is by far the best one I've seen.
this is one of the greatest video i've ever seen
This is one of my favourite videos to come out of the editor so far, great stuff! I would like to point some of my favourite parts and some parts that could be improved on if that's alright;

By far one of the best machinima's Ive seen in a while. Subscribed!
That was absolutely astounding! this is exactly the kind of video that I was looking forward to make when I first found out about the Rockstar Editor, but ah, you beat me to it. Impressive work though! :D
This is some perfect camera work in the "Anarchy Road" section, nicely done! BTW, this is what introduced Carpenter Brut to me.
Just watched the thief and this video today. Love them you have a new subscriber. keep up the good work
This was really well made! Nice job
Good job man, this is great!
props for Carpenter Brut
Incredible job. I love Hotline Miami and this, this one made me excited. This one has a good potential, however, you did well, mate!
So well made! Watched this video 6 times, played Hotline Miami again afterwards and watched a movie "Drive" again.
This is one reason I need to get a good PC Rig so I can get GTA V and make a machinima like this. Great job dude! I have no idea how extensive the GTA V video editor is, but it is waaaaay more extensive than the GTA IV one is.Huge kudos from me man. Great work.
How it's going
That combat scene was amazing, especially when he first walked in with the axe! It was a lot more exciting than I thought GTA combat could be
Amazing work! You can really see the effort put into it.
congratufucklations my friend you have nailed it, i got worried that this was gonna be horrible but i was not dissapointed
This is just all-out fan-bloody-tastic.
Hell yeah, that awesome, and nice use of Carpenter Brut's stuff.
Amazing! I have so much to learn from your editing skills! Loved to edit in GTA IV
Keep ut the great work!
Really great job! Nice use of Anarchy Road, one of my favorites.
great vid bro def one of the best Ive seen so far. Hope to see more

did that cop drag his dead buddy away? i never seen the npcs do stuff like that in gta v before
+Thomas Sullivan Yep that's right. I was truly suprised by seeing that when messing around with that clip in the Editor. I didn't know it was something NPC's could do either until i saw it in the editor!
+Thomas Sullivan I saw it before I shot him then said not today when it was night I SHOULD OF SAID NOT TONIGHT XD
+Houratronic It's when the other cops are injured
Yeah, if you shoot their legs, arms or chest they can be dragged away. or you can taser them
yeah, its the little details that make me love GTA V
Truly exceptional.
This video was just perfect :') Rasmus mask is one of the most useful :P The only thing I think you missed was that when the camera focused, you missed to put "Chapter complete!" And "Go to the Car!" message
Damn, this is good! I'm planning on making my own, but it won't be near as good as this. Great work!
That was fucking amazing, Great video.
Wouldn't say that it lived up to being like Hotline Miami, but it was an awesome video. Great music choice as well!
Awesome. Very well made. My favorite part would have to be at 5:48 with the blood splatters on the window of the door.
Very nice! You got the hotline miami feeling down perfect. Now if only rockstar would make some more interiors we could actually make a GTA hotline miami game that would be the best game in the world.
Nicely done, keep it up!
These are one of those movies that make me think that this could be used for standalone films with their own story line and characters with quality like this!
wow, good job! I was hoping for more top-down but i'm not sure if you can do that in the editor
You can it is an option
spike10164 It would look real bad inside, though.
Inside of what?
spike10164 Buildings
Rushnerd Top down? Why not a view from the floor?
has some very nice elements of the game, good job !
I don't know how hotline miami goes but I like this video alot. Keep up the good work man:)
Hmm. Good work. Actually working on a mini movie right now for gta v/hotline Miami. I'm still writing out the story but I'm taking my time with it. Cheers.
Haven't even watched half of it yet, already in love!
Great video dude!
Also, I fucking love Capenter Brut!
love the music ur using
XIKaMuIX Carpenter Brut is a musical god!
Mason - Paratica Everything he does fits Hotline Miami.
What the sounds?
Gotta get a grip
if i just pretend that he's not actually getting hit and the cops are just missing him, this is the greatest fucking gta5 machinima i've seen.
+DALEK i wonder if there's a mod that removes the player character from getting visible wounds.
DUDE PLEASE make more videos using the editor! I've been scouring RUclips for new videos using the video editor, yours are by far the best I've seen there's this one Foreign guy who has 2 good videos but yours is like watching a movie! Keep'em coming!
1/10 jacket is blonde
Jk this was awesome nice job
Jacket is Blond after the Hospital level he's bald. Then in Hotline Miami 2 He grows his hair back.
What
it sucks they ended it with a nuke
Haiven Crowe ikr But fuck Dennation they said they were ending off Halloween.... BOOM 2 REMAKES AND A NEW ONE ABOUT TO COME OUT. So hopefully this story goes on it isnt hard to make a shit ton of pixels of blood
Amazing job for a first try with the Video Editor.
Beautifully portrayed hotline miama. Great video!
That was amazing! Keep it up man.
Good to see that jacket's brown and cream varsity jacket is now finally in the game, now all we need is a good rubber rooster mask and the outfit will be perfect!
Incredible work man. Definitely a fan of your content & would love to chat at some point!
Amazimg. Just amazing
Looks like Jacket from Payday 2 :P
Holy crap. This was amazing. I would love to collaborate with you on GTA machinimas like this.
