    Hi Johan I live in El Salvador , I have a 15 month Boerboel, I bought him in Guatemala , there not no Boerboel in My country, but now that I'm watching you're videos I want to learn moore of the breed !!! So interesante!! I bought my boy because I need something to motivate me ! I'm in depression, so I believe that this breed was a challenge to raise to be well behave !! And for my surprise he's now my service dog !! He has learn to watch if I not take my medication and if I have a nightmare he will wake me! He doesn't let me be in bed !! Increible that's he has learn all this alone!! This is an amazing breed !!

      I am so happy that your Boerboel is so supportive. They are amazing dogs with a strange ability to perceive when things are not 100% right

    Does that method produce a tail which heals and the skin covers it completely with fur or the other result with the healed tail and no skin or fur covering the docked part an exposed bony skin ? Also, what percentage of the tail do you dock off ?

    My dog likes picking things for chewing , how do I stop such a behavior?

    • @boerboelacademy
      @boerboelacademy  9 месяцев назад

      Dogs always pick up things and chew it.... it is natural for them. If you want to stop your dog picking up specific things, just put some clove oil on it. Dogs really don't like the smell and will leave the item alone

    I watched the video that you posted many years ago, but this one is much more detailed. So, thank you for the info. Question: Is tail docking legal in South Africa?

    • @boerboelacademy
      @boerboelacademy  Год назад +2

      The law in SA has not changed for many years. It doesn't allow cruelty to animals. The SPCA is of the opinion that all taildocking must there for be illegal but I donot agree. In Mozambique, tail docking is allowed

      @@boerboelacademy I'm wondering how come all the boerboel breeders that I've come across in SA still tail dock. I'm yet to come across a breeder that doesn't dock. I was in 2 minds before I watched your video, but now it makes sense why boerboel tails are docked

    My boerboel will be 6 months old in a couple days, is it too late to dock his tail?

  • @michelleturner6865
    @michelleturner6865 6 месяцев назад

    I have no issue with docking and cropping. It should be allowed and people choose what they want. I hate other people telling me what to do with my dogs.

      No sir, 6 weeks is far too late. It can only be done before they are 5 days old.

    I'm indifferent to tail docking, but don't agree with a few things said in the video. Happy tail I've only seen in dogs kept in kennels.
    My preference is to keep the tails
