Rewatching this for the 100th time I’m realizing that at 43:40 when the machine says “leave” and then “disease” I’m surprised they didn’t think that could be someone(maybe a nurse or doctor) warning them about the disease they suffered from there and was telling them to leave to keep them safe
The building is no longer infected there would be no reason to warn them.

The only obviously genuine ghost show. Partly because they’re not afraid to admit when they catch voices saying “Ja Rule” and “Spaghetti”, partly because Shane tries to debunk everything that ever happens, fully because you can always see the genuine fear in Ryan’s eyes lol
Ironically, I feel like "Spaghetti" was one of the more compelling pieces of evidence they've found.

The huming Yankee doodle dandy ghost voice at around 07:30 might actually be one of the most believable ghost evidence I've heard. I'm full on sceptical about ghosts I've seen one in my life but easily explained as a trick of the light and being tired but after that in 24 years of life I've never seen anything else. But that I've got to say this has me intrigued
It's also incredibly similar in pitch and tone to the recorded humming from the recording they showed earlier
Seeing "created by Ryan Bergara" in the intro was really satisfying. After Buzzfeed didn't really give Ryan the full credit he deserved for bringing Unsolved to the table, his name closing out the Ghost Files opening credits is just a really cool thing to see. I'm really glad Shane, Ryan, and Steven left to make their own company - their artistic freedom has brought some of the best content on this site, imho

I think when they heard “Leave” and “Disease” in the body chute it could be the voice of someone who worked in the body chute telling them to not be in there so they don’t get TB from a body
I am seriously impressed at Shane's ability to not give a single shit while exploring these haunted places especially doing the walks alone. Because I'm also extremely skeptical of anything supernatural, but I still get scared shitless in old dark buildings even if I know that ghosts aren't real.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. I don’t believe in ghosts, but I’m pretty sure I’d have a mental breakdown if I had to go down that chute all alone in the dark.

This is so much better than any ghost hunting show on tv. Shane and Ryan aren’t afraid to say they found zero evidence, and are also honest when they do find evidence.
This is why i love this show, they could find zero evidence and it would still be entertaining AND feel real. It’s what sets them apart from every other ghost haunting show :)
This is one of the things I’ve always praised them for! I never liked ghost hunting shows because it was always just a group of ‘believers’ and would freak at ‘evidence’ and it all just felt 100% fake. Like nothing felt genuine. But Shane and Ryan’s dynamic of believer and skeptic just made everything feel real. Like you have Ryan freaking out over things and Shane just chilling out. It’s a balance that actually makes the evidence they find found hold weight. They are without a doubt the best ghost hunters ever.

You are never going to find a more honest and hilarious ghost hunting show ever. This is the top of the entertainment ladder for this type of content.
And when they do find evidence it makes it much more believable because they don’t lie when they don’t get any evidence
What always takes me out is how normal Shane is when his light stick goes off and later on when he tells Ryan about how he heard someone with him in comparison to other ghost hunting shows where they would’ve edited that a 1,000 times over 💀
In the future, maybe y'all should write down the things you get on the spirit box and then sit down later (when you're calmer) to look at those words and phrases comprehensively and compare them against anything you know about the people who lived/died there. You could present the results in the debrief. A lot of what Shane picked up in the Estes session in room 204 could make sense, given context, when taken as a whole. You got several direct responses to your questions that you didn't recognize as answers, plus something about Annie, Dudley, and Maxine and something about a boy in a puddle. (The boy in the puddle came up more than once!) Also, at one point, the spirit seemed to realize Ryan wasn't really listening and tried to get the boys' attention by calling Shane out by name.

That sounds like an ever better way of recognizing patterns where there's none. You know, the very basic foundation of the whole ghost concept

Oh for sure. I think even Shane mentioned once that he is not the brave one because he doesn't believe in any of this, hence he does not feel any fear. But Ryan believes and he is afraid, but he still goes ahead and does it. That really does make him very brave...and in a weird way even braver than Shane, if you think about it :)

@@loucipher7782 I'm pretty sure that each time in the past, they assumed it was not a sound made by any of the crew. (Plus I'm sure they accounted for stuff like that.) Ryan and Shane aren't so unprofessional that they would knowingly leave in something that turned out to be crew noise. Maybe it could have been done by accident, but I doubt they would intentionally leave something like that in. The fart thing in this episode was just funny so they wouldn't edit that out.

the way buzzfeed made their videos is we are supposed to believe there is only 2 person in haunted places all the time and maybe just +1 cameraman based on the audience's intelligence, when in reality there are wayyy more people in there every time
there is NEVER any crew interactions in buzzfeed while inside a haunted building because they are not supposed to be there while the duo is investigating

This was the most respectful I seen Shane act to the ghosts. Also the fact he was supposed to tell Ryan where the walkie is and didn’t and stopped the crew from stopping Ryan was pure gold. Then the call in panic saying the walkie wasn’t there had me crying.

man i have so much to say about this episode, but i specifically want to thank you guys for adding official closed captions. i'm hard of hearing (about 30% hearing loss) and my mom is nearly completely Deaf due to otosclerosis. having captions to read and help us follow this episode was SUCH a nice surprise. so many channels don't offer these accessibility options. we are so very thankful that Watcher did!
They do this for every video and even add easter eggs and it brings me so much joy.
Another thank you for CCs from me. I have permanent tinnitus after running head-on into a wall as a kid, and also am 'that' kind of autistic that seeing subtitles 'helps' me hear better, so official closed captions (as opposed to automatic, computer-generated closed captions that frequently get it wrong) are SUCH an awesome thing to have, especially when the faint things are all but inaudible to me.

Guys come on you have to crawl before you can walk. They had to do unsolved before ghost files could even become a concept and now that it is a show my life just got so much better. There was a major void when unsolved ended and now Ghost Files is here that void was filled and then some

7 minutes in and they get some of the best evidence they've ever gotten. That ghost hum was creepy as hell and the timing was crazy.
