Hes probably a great dad, the carnival people probably reassured him that the ride was totally safe, and he just went along with it. it's a dad thing lol, dads will do the craziest things with their kids, of course that's only if they trust it. we just got to trust that the dad knew what he was doing. of course, I'm still not sure if you were joking or not so dont take this too literally.
I thought the same. Though my dad owned a bunch of rides at a theme park and I was going on rides I really shouldn't have been as young as 4 or 5. Very stupid and reckless but he's a good dad all the same. He also shouldn't have been allowed on at all though...
What about weight and height limits..? Rhe carnival people need to reinforce that a little more.

It's damn scary. My daughter was tall enough to go on Steel Force and when we were going down the first hill, the tallest one, she came out of the seat and I was holding her by her shirt. When the roller coaster stopped, the teenage boys in front of us carried her on their shoulders and cheered for her so she didn't feel as scared and to calm her down. I was balling and mortified. The two behind us brought me a water and her an ice cream. I had the priviledge of meeting their parents and gave them a hug and told them what wonderful and caring children they raised.
Omg that had to be the most terrifying thing that could ever happen I am so sorry my god. A parents love and protection is so strong that that parent protection adrenaline kicks in and you become superhuman. It has to be the most scary, intense, mortifying feeling to know you have your babys life in your hands and its only hanging on by their shirt...You are a hero. Truly. What a bad ass fight or flight response. I know it was just what came naturally and just what you had to do but you are a bad ass. I would be so in awe of you if i was your husband/daughter's father. You DID THAT, MAMA!!!
I will be honest, personally, I wouldn't have been in any kind of spirits for the workers to try to make it better. I would have lost it. You're clearly a better person than I in that area too!

“Mortified” sounds like it means “horrified” but it actually means ‘very embarrassed’. It’s okay. I made the exact same mistake a few years ago, but the person who corrected me was really snotty about it. Like she just could not WAIT to make me feel less than. Anyway, yes. Now ya know. 😁

@@lisaclark5123 She was wrong to pressure him into it. Yes, he's a grown man, but that doesn't mean he felt that he could say no to her, or that she didn't pressure him into doing it. There's a difference between encouraging someone to have a bit of fun to get over their fears, and actually getting them on something like a rollercoaster. You can't bail out on a rollercoaster.

@@wiseforce7045 None of us know how she got him onto the ride or how much she pressured him about it, but it's so obvious that he's terrified. There's a difference between encouraging someone to face their fears and pressuring them to go on a big ass rollercoaster. There are ways to help someone get over their fears, and pressuring them to go on a rollercoaster that big is not going to help.
You can't blame a person for not being brave enough to voice something about themselves. Maybe he was embarassed about it, maybe she was just so insistent that he relented. But it's wrong to force someone to do something because it's "fun", especially if it's something as extreme as a rollercoaster. That could make his fears worse, not better.
It's so annoying when people force their significant other to do something that terrifies them and then hold it over their head that if they don't do things like that then they'll find someone more adventurous.

My parents used to force me to go on rollercoasters with them when I was a kid. I've always hated rollercoasters cause I have a fear of heights and I hate that feeling in the stomach. Fortunately they've since figured out that forcing me to do it will ruin not only my entire day, but theirs too. If I was that guy I'd have left her too, except I'd have done it BEFORE getting on the ride.

The chances of an accident at a travelling fair are much much higher than the chance of an accident at a theme park located at a permanent venue so if you're worried about this kind of thing make sure you avoid the smaller travelling fairs and stick to the big name theme parks.

I was watching a video and a carney was talking about it and he mentioned that actually the state testing is done more often on the traveling than on permanent. He said that every time they we tip in a new location state comes in to check it. Unlike the permanent ones that are once or twice a year maybe. He said if something does happen during the week at the traveling ones though then no they aren’t checked as through then. So who knows. I guess either way you’re taking a chance 🤷♀️ Technically you could walk outside trip and fall and die. So might as well have fun

From the beginning before the ride started, the lady appears to be completely enjoying herself while her boyfriend is already freaking out, which makes me wonder what she said to get him to sit in the seat! Anyways, it is so obvious how completely oblivious she is to his discomfort. She only recognizes him while during his panic he speaks the truth; "I wanna break up! I can't do
this!"
It's so funny to watch because now she's pissed, and we can clearly see that in her expression. She is no longer enjoying the ride, she's like, "what did you just say?" But he is still freaking out from the crazy ride that she convinced him to go on.
If this was a first date, we can chalk it up to being a bad date. However, the way he screamed that he wanted to break up tells us that they have been dating for some time. I think at the end of the ride she decided to bounce, and I can only say that the guy is better off now.

Hard to see when you're shooting to the sky with all gravity pulled on you and all the bars blocking his view from the son. You're seeing them from the front. The father's view is from the side. Even if he noticed that his son passed out what can he do when they're both strapped and in the air. Just need to ride it out and wait for the ride to stop

Bc the lil boy was younger so the purposely made the ride shorter and they made it not go up so high but for the boy who passed out u can tell it was longer and higher plus people have different reactions to certain rides so lets be fr
Where did the kid almost slipped out?! All you can see is the upper body getting longer, what happens to all people when they are upside down...its called gravity. Its impossible to fall out of that slingshot ride. The safety bar closes completely with the body of each passenger. There is absolutely no space between the bar and the upper legs. Its is simply impossible to fall out, no matter how tall the person is. Even a teddy bear would not be able to fall out. In nearly all rides with restraint systems like that, the age and height requirements are only because of G-Forces, and not because of people could fall out. I live in Germany and we have much stronger regulations, these rides are only for 12+ age and 1.40/1.50m+ height. The rides are completely identical to those in all other countries and there the requirements are often a lot lower. That doesnt mean its unsafe, its just that the government has different regulations regarding what kind of G-Forces are allowed for kids. I think in Germany the regulations are way too harsh. So many kids would love to ride stuff like that and are not allowed to, for actually no real reason.

I remember back in college during the 1980s visiting an amusement park with a rollercoaster. I accidentally boarded the ride with an ice cream cone in hand. When the ride ended I saw a couple with vanilla ice cream on their heads. I was too embarrassed to apologize.😮😮

The kid blacking out from fear and flopping around then waking up and freaking out… that’s not safe. The little dude being held in by dad should not in a million years have been allowed. He should not have been let on that ride.
I think the dad with the boy slipping was a good dad, and you can see that he cares about his kid a lot, but I think he definitely should've used better judgement when letting him go on that ride.

Fainting while on those slingshot rides is actually fairly common and has to do with the G-forces the riders are undergoing. Some people are able to handle wildly differing G-forces in quick succession and others can't. Then there's the adrenaline factor that gets our body ready for fight or flight but can also cause a dangerous spike in blood pressure and heart rate that can also cause fainting. Still, I'm not sure I'd take a kid on one of those. He was terrified. I mean, there's fun-terrified where it's scary but you know that you're really ultimately safe and then there's just plain terrified.

My mom and eldest sister are both RNs and I have an Associate's degree in Administrative Medical Assisting (a fancy way of saying medical receptionist/billing coder). The guy at the end had every right to break up with her. My ex carried me to get on the roller coaster. Everyone just laughed but me. If someone cared for you they wouldnt make you do stuff that you didnt like to do.

May be he was trying to make you face your fear. Last week i managed to make my wife do paragliding.. for which she was very afraid initially.. but later on enjoyed it a lot after i assured her that it is harmless and fully secure

The kid on the second slingshot was too small. Bless his brave heart, he will never forget it though! I rode the tower of terror at Universal Studios, when I was 5 with my dad, I’ll never forget it. Even have a picture to remember! …and for the last one, she’d be better off with someone adventurous and spontaneous anyways.

When I saw the clip, I saw the height, Did you ever ride that ride with your son , or daughter? Check it out? If only you were riding it, and another person rode with a child that size. You would look and not say anything,right? Okay now the parent had very good reflex, but the parent thought , that it would'nt bother the baby. Because he's just a child. For 1 second , he adjust his safty belt, while he is flying . Then during the ride ,and mind you , the father is holding, but the child slips from his hand. When the ride is finished and you get down , and see all these spectaters crying ,and you heard about it then? How and what would you feel. With what you just told me?

He does love his child, you 8 year old. you do know there are height and age requirements ? The kid managed to those expectations, and obviously, he wanted to ride it. The kid fainted due to the pressure. It's more common than you think.
He probably loves the kid and the kid probably wanted to go on the ride, he also may have wanted to go and was tall enough his dad was just making him happy.
@@onlyyian Sounds like you are putting the responsibility on the very young child. A responsible adult would refuse to let the child ride when he didn't fit in the safety restraint properly. The adult is in the wrong.

That dad laughing at his kid bothered me. That poor kid was unconscious for most of the ride AND realized he peed when he regained consciousness! Can you imagine the rest of their trip to the amusement park? He was probably embarrassed and felt sick and Dad laughed
