I come to pay my respects to the greatest and most charismatic vocalist in death metal. I was lucky enough to see the guys play once in Mexico City, Trevor's voice was brutal, it never waned, it sounded just like the studio songs. I am sad to hear of your departure so far. Rest in peace Trevor, you are a great death metal legend.
I too am one of those lucky enough to have seen him live. Black Dahlia came here to South Africa in 2020 the week before our country went into lockdown. We were the first country to witness them perform Verminous and Child of Night live, and it was an overall special experience. Trevor really put on quite a show, and seeing him on stage has set the standards of a frontmanso high, and it made it difficult to enjoy other frontmen nowadays. He truly was a great performer, and I am grateful for seeing this band live.
I'm beyond grateful that after loosing my DVD set of this that it's up online to continue watching, thank you Metal Blade! I can not begin to count how many times I watched this in high school and learned as many songs as I could on guitar with Nocturnal on repeat. 🖤 Trevor will forever be a metal legend and an absolute gem of a human. RyanSlays I agree that Nocturnal was by far their best album, but they're still good. Everblack and Ritual were both decent, even if Deflorate was awful. I definitely miss John K. Their solos have suffered hugely since he left. The songs themselves stayed intact but the solos have never been the same.

You dont wanna see em live with slayer. that's basically a dead crowd nowadays full of old men who peaked in the 80s who dont know and give a shit about who TBDM are, with a small 10 man moshpit in the front. You wanna catch em either headlining or supporting a smaller, more similar band in a smaller venue. That's where TBDM shines.

I'm so glad, Ryan joined the band. Kempainen's solos were only shredding up and down the neck. Nothing innovative or interesting, didn't really bring anything useful to the song.

I went to see them live last year and they were absolutely solid. Obviously they'll dub over the camera's audio with sound board audio, just because a camera won't handle the band's sound output nearly as well as the soundboard.
defbored I doubt they dubbed the sound, I'd rather say they took the house PA sound and mixed/mastered it for the DVD. I mean, what else would you expect? And it's not like they re-tracked guitars and stuff in the studio after, if so they wouldn't have included mistakes.
+defbored You can easily tell all the audio tracks are live. I don't see anything wrong with using live tracks over edit video. They may have remixed them, but I would imagine they did very little since the sound is coming from the audio board.
