Spent 18 months in Turkey 63 years ago, hoping to go back for visit. Selin, you are undoubtedly the best instructor of all. Trust this ole timer, she is absolutely spot-on, very clear, pleasing to hear, and repeats herself enough with explanations to follow. Cok guzel(She will understand without correct spellings)
In "Muhteşem Yüzyıl" series, we often hear something like:"Kes seseni"! for "shut up"! or "stop it"! especially: * Fehriya told it to one of the unsatisfied concubines. * Hurrem told it to her daughter Mihrimah exactly the moment of her divorce with Rustem. * Gülşah told it to one of the concubines the moment of her transfer.
That's true but in the first episode of “Muhteşem Yüzyıl", Valide Sultan told to Hürrem in Russian “shut up" and that phrase was written in Turkish as: kapa çeneni. Don't forget it!

As a Turkish native, i'm tired of laughing, it's not "wave" it's actually can't translate. It's the Tukish way, but it's means "are you kidding me?" This is literally means "Benimle şaka mı yapıyorsun?" but we usally don't say this, we say "Benimle dalga mı geçiyorsun?" benimle ( (with) me) dalga (kidding) mı (are) Geçiyorsun? (Litterally means you but not you)
@@giacomoleopardi9910 what? Wait, are u Turkish? This is the Turkish way "what kind of foot are you?" If you're not Turkish, i can say, you know the Turkish culture, very good
The aim of asking like "sen kimsin?" is actually not a question. It means "you are nothing". It's a typical insult to the opponent when arguing. In case of too much testosteron, fists start talking. :D

"Sen kimsin?" is the same in hungarian; "Ki vagy te?". You ask this as an indication to the counterpart, "Who are you to tell me this? Who are you to have such an opinion? What importance do you bear to me to give judgement? Why would you be important enough for me to care about your opinion?" and simliar.
