The other singer is Hansi Kursch from the band Blind Guardian. Marko and Hansi sound so well together. IMO two of the best voices in metal. And, yes, Marko rocks that kilt.

This is a venture into asub-fenre of folk metal - that is very popular with fans of symphonic metal. There are a few bands that come to mind - Eluveitie is one of them - they use a lot of folk instruments in their songs even a hurdy-gurdy.
Ayreon is a musical project by Dutch songwriter, singer, musician and record producer Arjen Anthony Lucassen. He is the main brain behind the project and to make his vision come to life, he invites musicians from other bands to join him in creating masterpieces. Everybody you see on stage is the top of power/progressive metal scene. Even the back-up singers are lead singers in their own bands. I highly encourage you to take the Universe concert and react to it in order, from the first song to the last. The concert is kind of a "best of" collection of songs so it gives you an idea of the range of Ayreon as a whole. Otherwise, this is a very deep rabbit hole, most of the albums are concept albums, each story told by the album fits like a puzzle piece in a bigger story, the Ayreon Universe. They should be listened as a whole if you are interested in the story.
