(veterinarian or vet supply) Transmission fluid is also good. Temper at around 400 for an hour. CAR springs are less trustworthy- sometimes they are poorer steel. Now there ARE knifemakers' supply co's that will well you two feet of steel at a modest price. 5160 is widely available. 8670 , L6 or 15N20 -steels with 1 to 2% nickel- are also good. Very tough. L6 tends to be spendy.
Blade is Beautiful but is a bit Thinner ... might not be able to use for its daily use intentions in Mountains of Nepal like chopping tree branches, chopping woods and cutting animal bones. I am from Nepal. My thought you made holes on the section where it must be much more thicker as well. Show piece Yes beautiful and kitchen use yes. May not be suitable for wild use.
Need a cover with locking system. I yet not found such a maker who can fit a locking system in Kukri. I have a kukri, but no locking system in Case. So i abandoned as un safe kukri.
