It’s funny they put Arnold’s name on the cover but not have his face. At least he’s on the inside of the steelbook. I ordered the Slipcover version mainly because it has a better cover imo and I don’t collect a lot of steelbooks anyway. I personally prefer the original Terminator over T2. It was simply just raw and suspenseful seeing Arnold having no boundaries to terminate Sarah Connor. I appreciate the second one and it’s also one of my favorite action movies, but it wasn’t as original as the first one in my opinion.
Orion Pictures released this movie in the 80s. The company was bought by MGM. Warner Bros handles most of MGM's home releases. That's why Warner distributed the 4k blu ray
First one I thought was the best. That’s when Arnold was the villain and he didn’t have any friends and he killed the most people out of all terminators in the franchise. T2 was a great sequel but the first one hands down kills it.
Hemdale and Orion distributed/produced The Terminator, both of whom were later bought by MGM. MGM Home Entertainment distributed all subsequent DVD releases until 2005 when Sony Pictures Home Entertainment began distributing for MGM (note the UMD Video For PSP and original Blu-ray releases) then 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment picked up the rights around 2013 and released a “remastered” blu-ray. Disney briefly held the distribution rights when they bought Fox in 2019, before the contract/deal expired, and as of 2020: Warner Bros Home Entertainment (through Studio Distribution Services) put out a majority of the MGM catalog. (Not counting international releases or titles licensed to labels like Criterion, Shout, Arrow, etc)
The old franchise has had several owners: The first one is MGM The second one is Studio Canal The third one is Warner Brothers Salvation is Warner Brothers in the US, but is Sony in Europe and finally, Genesis and Dark Fate are Paramount
Hemdale had the original rights thru Orion Orion and hemdale both got brought by MGM so they consolidated the flim in MGM HOWEVER….. Warner bros helps distribute mgms flims around the world physical media and cinema ( excluding bond 26 that’s universal) bond 27 onwards will be distributed by Warner bros ( should the MGM Warner Bros deal continues) skydance owns the terminator rights but I believe James Cameron got them back ( I hope that makes sense haha)
More of an unwrapping than an unboxing , steelbooks are a bit of a rip off ... for the price you should get a booklet , poster etc . Great looking steelbook anyway . 😉
