1. clothing
The lack of clean, well-fitting clothes and shoes causes great hardship beyond exposure to the elements-it hurts one’s self-image and one’s chance to get ahead. People experiencing homelessness must travel light, with few opportunities to safely store or adequately clean what they can’t carry. On job interviews, a poorly dressed person has little chance for success. Give your clean clothes to those who could use them. Before you give your own clothes or start a clothing drive, talk to your local shelter and find out what items they really need. Most have limited storage space, and can’t use winter clothes in summer or vice versa. Some serve only a certain group of people. Please clean the clothes before you donate them
2. Homeless survival kits
Create and distribute kits that include items such as cups, pots, pans, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and cosmetics. (Try coordinating this through a group that gives out meals from a van, for example.) During cold weather, organize drives for blankets, coats, hats, scarves, mittens, socks, and the like.
3. offer jobs to them
Encourage your company, school, or place of worship to hire people experiencing homelessness (if they are not already working). Most unemployed homeless adults desperately want to work, but need an employer to give them a chance.
4. Raise funds
Ask your group to abstain from one meal and donate the proceeds to a shelter or soup kitchen. Sponsor a benefit concert or coffee house featuring local musicians and poets (Don’t forget to include homeless and formerly homeless performers!). Organize a walk-a-thon or a yard sale and donate the proceeds.
Poor people have less but they are always willing to help more ❤️

Have you heard the story of the man fishing at sea when a larger vessel passed and tipped his little boat leaving him stranded and floating. He prayed to God and asked for help and before long another Fishing Vessel came by and tried to save him but he rejected it because he said God would save him. Eventually another vessel and he declined because God would save him and ultimately a Chopper came but again he declined. Finally he drowns and as he approaches God he says he's happy to be in heaven but wants to know why God didnt save him when he was sure God said he would. God replied I sent 2 boats and a Chopper, what more do you want?!

Yes, he is a "righteous dude". That little girl isn't even his, his girlfriend left her behind and him being such a good hearted person, takes care of her.
It troubles me when he just lets people decline the money without trying to reason with them. This money could've really helped the man and especially his little one! I bet she doesn't have any toys or books. They could live in a nicer place and eat well, he could hire a babysitter. He could've told him to take a third of the money and then given the rest to the encampment. I think there's a state of shock that makes some people refuse the money and it's a lost opportunity when he doesn't work with them to help them accept it.

First of all this dude's CHARACTER stands alone, and his humility is something to be desired; dude/Dad loves his daughter. This dude...man, we need more like him in the world. There is a parable about a man drowning in the ocean and waiting on God for help. Despite God sending him multiple sources of help he chose to "wait on god" and died. His grandmother and aunt came and got us. He never spoke to me and never called to check on his daughter. He knew where we were.
