Great video Mort! Deep woods stories are my absolute favourite! Especially when they don’t all end in skinwalkers as the outcome. I find more grounded threats much more scary and interesting. Although hearing about the coconut head people was cool, as I’d never heard of those before. Thanks again.
Heard about the night marches from different stories and there are a lot of myth stories that revolve around storms/wind and even normal wind in places can be creepy but night march myths are fascinating
I've heard stories about them as well, but I remembered the rule of simply not looking at them at all. (The music being the warning.) But I don't remember coconut heads? Very interesting indeed.
@@YannY1150 i heard the music was a warning but didn't hear just dont look. (The coconut heads you can see in movies though they usually use the coconut as the whole body to be more cute i guess)
My spouse grew up in Hawaii and has told me a couple stories about the Night Marchers and his experience accidentally camping near their path where they march on the full moon. He's got some other interesting stories from there too.
You’re Spanish is Mexican/American approved sir. That is no small feat. Greeting from Texas!!! Been a fan for YEAAAAARRRS. You are number 2 on my top 10!!!!
I like the wild jungle vibe, I once went on a trip to Peru, very different then I knew as life could be, many of the people's were poor, and curious of who we were, and who we were. So cool.
I’m not Hawaiian, and I’ve never even been to Hawaii. But I love myths and lore…. I have heard the night marches are Hawaiian warriors, marching at night to protect their island and sacred spaces. If you’re not Hawaiian, your only hope to survive is to lie face down in the sand and close your eyes and do not look up or look at the warriors. If you’re not of Hawaiian descent, they will have no mercy Or that’s what I’ve heard :)
I am at 35:08 rn but I had to make the comment before finishing story number 4. The story reminded me of this documentary I saw on the History Channel back in the early 2000s when I was a little kid. This was when History Channel used to be a channel for only showing documentaries and maybe some weird paranormal shows (kind of like Unsolved Mysteries). The documentary I watched was Haunted History: Hawaii. I remember one part from the documentary talking about the Night Watchers. They warn you to never ever encounter them. They are spirits of the ancient Hawaiian warriors that march in a straight line with torches, and weapons & shields. You might hear them chanting as they are marching and you might hear auditory sounds coming from blowing a conch shell or drums. If you look into their eyes, you will die a violent death and will be forced to march with them for eternity. The only way to save yourself is if you do see the torches or hear marching, either run or get out of their way and get down on your knees and bow your head into the ground lying motionless (staying still) and stay that way until they are gone or you no longer hear their marching or chanting. It's a crazy Hawaiian myth/legend. The story being told by Mortis reminded me of that. It's something that I haven't thought of in probably over 20 yrs. I definitely don't ever want to encounter them if the legend is true.
