i am on track to own one of these by the end of the year, its the main motivation behind me starting my little cleaning business - should do the trick as a tax right-off
It's actually a fair amount wider than the std coupe. It's more visible in dark colours. The only bits that are the same are the doors, windshield and boot lid. I just bought one here in Canada and am just coming up on my 2000km service so I can unleash the beast. It's everything the reviews say so far. I love it. And this is coming from a former hater of all things BMW. (it's dark grey with dark grey alloys. yum)
Dog leg is the first gear down, in place of the 2nd. 2nd and 4th are up, 3rd and 5th are down. This means that on the track, you don't have 3-row width to cover when shifting (2, 3-4, 5) but rather just 2 (2-3, 4-5), since you don't go in first on a track. Looks like this: R 2 4 |---|---| 1 3 5
@nielsboex It actually has bumpers, hood, and all that as exclusive M3's package. The M Kit is a Sporty kit, to look like the M3, but not the same. At all.
make sense, however the weight of the engine starting 2004 and after is getting lighter year after year since they start to use aluminum instead of metal, totally different technology, is it better or worse? time will tell.
@nielsboex they might not see the difference, but they will hear it :) The sound of this thing is a head turner, i have driven one myself over the weekend. Fabolous car!
well im no expert but i think the 335d is a good all rounder its a bit more money but its got more torque and better mpg. personally id go for the 135i its the same engine in a better looking body but thats just me. let me know how it works out
Getting horsepower from already high-end engines isn't hard. No. Blatantly said you just put some turbo's on it. Make sure to stay within what components of the engine can handle.. or upgrade them to allow for even bigger turbo's. Etc. Making a car that is able to handle the power and to put it down effectively is a LOT harder.
If they would add a sunroof there wouldn't be a carbon fiber roof. The extra weight of the sunroof and the normal material for the roof would put the middleweight of the car a lot higher, thus "ruining" the handling.
I finally figured why I like the e46 a bit better. The e92 doesn't have the wide wheel arches like the e46. maybe someone will come out with a widebody kit. But the car is basically perfect. Would take the M3 over any other car out there.
Firemarioflower The M4 is the most incredible car, light weight, and much more torque. Only the engine sound is a dislike. Everything is way much better than this old V8 car.
nick van beekveld It's still a nerds car. Too overdone, but not a single spec of drama, 1000 supsension settings, eco mode, cylinder-cut-in-half, start/stop (GAY), no proper manual gearbox, ugly sound, no V8 like the e92. 5000 other gismos and no good looks. Also that name was not necessary. Torque is only for caravans. HPs is what matters. And handling. The handling on this is petty, it doesnt communicate and has a vague robotic feel. A car for the worse drivers. They could have saved even more weight by getting rid of that new age digital crap that no proper sportscar needs. Old?? It's still ageless. It's design is still up to date. The E46 was the last proper M-model in the lower middle class. And the hottest. And the best inituitive feel about its steering. Way better or much better. You can't place them both in one sentence.
I am a big fan of the E46 M3, but I do think the E92 M3 has a really good sound. I would agreed on the looks, as I dont think most BMW's from 2006 and newer look very nice. The new M4 is growing on me.
I used to owned an 1986 323i. There was a really sporty car with no useless luxuries. I did try a 2005 323i and found the car excellent, maybe the best BMWs. The BMW did feature the most ergonomic dashboards with excellent driving position. I have friend who now owns a BMW 320 and I have found that BMW have become more bourgeois and less ergonomic with too much emphasis on luxury. BMW is loosing its true touch and it is funny because Audi and Alfa Romeo are improving so beware !!!
I really like the car but for that kind of money I'd like it to look fast too. An average person on the street won't see the difference between this and a regular 3 series.
@bynari88 Please do not think that every german is as arrogant as tvain86-> "get a life loser. trying to tell a german about the autobahn haha". If you're living in huge cities or areas like the ruhrgebiet, there are a lot of speed limits on nearly every road (e.g. often noise protection). So you've to get onto the outlying big transit autobahnen and also calculate the right time (sundays, evenings or outer rush hour).Then germany really is the last "paradise" for fast driving on public streets.
It seems a fun car but for some reason & humble opinion my 6 speed stick shift E39 M5 way more fun even it is 10 years old I almost switched to E92 M3, thank god I did not & why no sun roof to open like Mercedes? Lowering the cost, Oh BMW.
is cool yes but....let;s take it step by step...the M3 V8 is faaar from new....is the first model of M after 6L e46...so it's first M model with V8...after few years they put on it the V10 engine like on M5 and M6....AANNDD THE REAL BRAND 2012 NEW M3 is again 6L.....but triturbo ;) just for you to know :)
Been watching this from 2008.. It's 2020 still fun to watch!
Yes, I'm sure you were undecided before watching this video. But after seeing it you suddenly were so glad and had to tell us all.
i am on track to own one of these by the end of the year, its the main motivation behind me starting my little cleaning business - should do the trick as a tax right-off
Agree with you lowering the weight as well, I will get some knowledge before opening my flap, thanks for being sport about it.
I've fallen in love with the BMW M3!

FretFreak02 de M5 E60 had ook nog een atmosferisch blok.
+ BMW 760i E65! :)
The most beautiful car:D
make sense, however the weight of the engine starting 2004 and after is getting lighter year after year since they start to use aluminum instead of metal, totally different technology, is it better or worse? time will tell.
@apogist every BMW is an car with nice body and own soul
love this car!!
@AirForceOne92 yes, but most german cars are limited to 155 mph
well my bro has never been happy with it so hes getting rid of it soon. i would go for the 330i or 335d both have great engines. good luck
A Real German guy reviewing a German car. You can't beat that!
@nielsboex they might not see the difference, but they will hear it :) The sound of this thing is a head turner, i have driven one myself over the weekend. Fabolous car!

One day baby, one day...

Nice vid !!!!
its amazing machine beautiful i need this m3 !!!
Mooie video jongens!!!! (Nice video!!)
@thommasje
Reverse in an E9X is actually Up and left. But fantastic effort, otherwise.
almost 2 years since you did this test. have you got the M3 now?
Getting horsepower from already high-end engines isn't hard. No.

Etc.
Making a car that is able to handle the power and to put it down effectively is a LOT harder.
that is definitely on my wish list..............
idrive wont make it heavier, its in with the MOST ring which is connected to components suchs as the radio... so not much change there
If they would add a sunroof there wouldn't be a carbon fiber roof. The extra weight of the sunroof and the normal material for the roof would put the middleweight of the car a lot higher, thus "ruining" the handling.
Just because i can! hate it or love it!
Carbon fiber roof is not standard, it's an extra option . . .
is it just me or are the european versions of the M3 have different tail lights than the U.S versions?
Wat een schoonheid 😳😳😳😳 M-Power😍😍😍
een van de mooiste autos vind ik
that sound ooooh it makes my hart melt so beutiful
geile Kiste, irgendwann fahr ich auch so einen
pure and utter sickness long live M power

Ahhh, amzing!!
he is speaking Dutch, not German
Dat wist ik niet
M3 is $82,000 fully loaded with every option here in USA. Premium gas at $4.30 / gallon.
Making it AWD takes all the fun out of it.
BMW M3 is a awesome car~!!!!!
I drive this car 2 years (open 330K/mh ) Best sound and handling ever !!!!!!!!!!
Of course.
2x like. Nice review
BMW is the best ! :D
@Riharchor yes
This car, in that color is pure sex!!
that M3 is one incredible car:)
The M4 is not.
Firemarioflower The M4 is the most incredible car, light weight, and much more torque. Only the engine sound is a dislike. Everything is way much better than this old V8 car.

+Firemarioflower Sounds like to me , you don't know about cars
This should be in HD.
BMW BEST CARS EVER!!!!!!!!!!
Dit vind ik dus echt zo vette auto! Mooi en toch niet zo opvallend
All the silly comments here and nobody here has driven an E92

and you know what he is right
heavier then the E46 coz of the idrive and some other stuff.
M Power
very nice make me hungry for some race
I really like the car but for that kind of money I'd like it to look fast too. An average person on the street won't see the difference between this and a regular 3 series.
Demais
Yeah but 100kg? Maybe it's better to order it without the iDrive. And can anyone tell me why BMW's have such low torque numbers?
BMW´s SIND SO SCHEIßE GEIL!!! *-*
M3 geht richtig ab. :D
Trust me, you guys are so lucky with your car and fuel prices.I'm jealous.
I WANT ONE!
///M power
Is that what is called "dog leg"?
@nielsboex Trust me when you press the gas pedal, they will know the difference....
@apogist the m3 E46(2002) is much nicer
Ik denk dat die zwaarder is omdat er een v8 in zit inplaats van 6 in lijn
M3 or M5 ?
6:18
i love only 3er coope series 7 er and x6 :D:D
its not german but dutch...by the way this is the car I want for my birthday...:)
I can say I have driven a e93 m3, but not an e92
solo se ke este tipo no sabe derrapar
Баварское Мусорное Ведро ///Мощное
Dam I'm a pure Japanese car lover when it comes to cars...But there is no Japanese car I would want over a German BMW M3....Besides a Nissan GTR ;P
@AirForceOne92 ...better drivers too ;-)
m3's got 7 gears Big dawg
BMW M3 without Xenon headlights :(
Actually i think the yellow angel eyes are awsome on a M3. Xenon is nice either, but these aren't bad at all.
They have xenon headlights just not white angel eyes, but you can change the halo rings to white easy. All M3s come with xenon.

I'm pretty sure that wasn't German..
Its dutch
@chrome0181 wtf Dutch = Holland, German=Germany
sory...not V10 on M3...i was thinking at M5 :D
sory
273 km/hr is 169 mph.
It seems a fun car but for some reason & humble opinion my 6 speed stick shift E39 M5 way more fun even it is 10 years old I almost switched to E92 M3, thank god I did not & why no sun roof to open like Mercedes? Lowering the cost, Oh BMW.
fuck sake best sound evaaaaaa
The car in the vid is manual, not DCT, so only has 6. ;)

330kh/m? °0°
German Cars - Best Cars ;)
@valibmwe92 nop
Car weighs almost 4000 lbs with driver and gas. No lightweight sportscar. I'd rather get a Lotus Exige
is cool yes but....let;s take it step by step...the M3 V8 is faaar from new....is the first model of M after 6L e46...so it's first M model with V8...after few years they put on it the V10 engine like on M5 and M6....AANNDD THE REAL BRAND 2012 NEW M3 is again 6L.....but triturbo ;)
