thank goodness for the decent commentary. no over the top commentary, no yelling and screaming over the top of the other commentators and no one asked "what's going on inside those helmets". i can't believe anybody with a brain would ask a stupid asinine question like that. talking over everyone else just to hear himself talk...
I live 45 minutes away from the track and I have been to almost 20 Indy 500 yes I say if your a racing fan car lover come see this at least 1 time it’s not just a race it’s an experience!
To spend the entire month of May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, staying in a house or apartment close by, with full access to the track and Indianapolis Raceway Park events, is on my bucket list.
Consistent , but NOT fast at 229 MPH! Sure compared to 233 or 232 not fast , but in my book 229 IS pretty frickin' FAST! Looks like 2 good days of optimal conditions.
The short answer is Maybe. 200mph lap was just missed in 1973, but one Arab Oil Embargo later, the 1974 machines were way smaller and slower. It was three years later before Tom Sneva did it. Changes to machine and track alike cause delays in speed gains. To tell the truth, we needed a four mile oval -- with the same turns as IMS and 1.5 mile straightaways front and back -- to be designed and built back in the beginning of the 1970s. It could have been done at that time...
Says the guy, clicking on motorsports highlights videos... IndyCar, F1, NASCAR, WEC, V8 Supercars, IMSA, etc...literally every major motorsport series on the planet...is cars, going around a track.
Indycar is simply the best at getting the fans into the action. These highlight packages have been awesome to watch
Yeah, look at those packed stands
Almost as if practice and qualifying is closed to the public…
Fans are in the pit area. Be more fans.
@@JM_daDoc Name any motorsports series on the planet, that draws a quarter million fans, to watch practice...
@@MarkLanham91 Whole lot of VIP's there today, considering the random groups of people, spread out around the complex...
Love the comments from Chip Ganassi, rookie driver at Indy 1982.
Love watching the analysis of Nolan Siegel’s lap

How come this is not on TV???????.
It was on Peacock
I don't think they put any practice sessions into free to air, I am not familiar with any series that does
The cars are ugly.
It might be on ABC tomorrow
@@Wafflecombo54 Nope Peacock ...I checked
Never been to Indy 500 but they go super fast wow went to F1 races is it worth it to come to Indianapolis

Three plus hours of left turns only.

Nolan "MAD Magazzine" Siegel...🤔

When comparisons are made, the super bowl looks like small potatoes next to the Indy 500.
No it doesn’t 😂
Kansas City swifties super bowl victory with planned Midway through the season!
Qualifying is not the race. Practice is not the race. The race is the race.

Yeah, 229 mph is dummy quick. It's quicker than like 98% of the world will ever travel.
@@sweetdaddydee1314erm, no. Most planes fly faster than that during takeoff
@rheacevert I should have rephrased and said that most people will drive. That was my bad lol
Welcome to Indiana.
Speed Limit 265.
17 minutes. Not enough time for 🍿 unfortunately.
For the longest time, the NFL was so afraid of the "betting interests" getting involved with their beloved sport, now look at it.
So in 5 or 6 years, will the slowest qualifier need to run a 240 to make the show?!?

No. They were faster in the 90s😅
The record lap is 237 and change. Arie the Flying Dutchman's record from 1996.

Too much analysis and too much information. The evolution of this race is redundant.
