    It really bloody annoys me when loads of police turn up and 90% of them go into a huddle somewhere and the firefighters end up doing traffic control which is the police's job. It happened throughout the 70/80 and 90's and it seems nothing has changed.

    I would be concerned with the lack of traffic control on the main road where the fire apparatus is parked, especially for the safety of the firefighters dismounting and walking around the trucks. Good traffic and pedestrian control on the fire street (tape). Nice vid.

    • @zyglo9826
      @zyglo9826 5 лет назад +1

      ronald lynn Johnson...absolutely right. In the region of the USA where I live, the police are very aggressive about blocking traffic from the streets at a fire scene. Even pedestrians are excluded from the area. On several occasions I have been stopped, questioned, and ordered to leave the area by police officers while attempting to approach the scene of even a minor house fire. Allowing civilian traffic to routinely drive past a major fire scene would be unthinkable here.

      Problem?

    • @ChuckFireswift68
      @ChuckFireswift68 5 лет назад +2

      Not at all. The Officers are given a standard lease allowance, have a check for yourself; premium cars are often chealer to lease s a lease is calculated on the future resale value of the car, some maunfacturers (such as BMW) offer very good lease deals to large lease compainies. Any cost over the standard allowance has to me met by the officer. LFB (and the public) could not afford the cost of providing cars for Officers, like lots of public & private sector businesses these days lease is much cheaper.

    • @edwardsills2664
      @edwardsills2664 5 лет назад +1

      I heard of a police force who wanted new cars. They had a choice between jaguars or skodas. The jaguars were cheaper (the result of a lease deal as mentioned above), had better re-sale value, and better performance in speed and safety.
      The force went for the skodas because they thought they would be criticised for buying Jags. I'm glad LFB don't take any notice of un-informed opinions before buying their vehicles.
