Yes, I think I feel the same way. I stick with people and support them and I’m generous with my time, and I tell people who I care about that I care about them. Usually that comes back sooner or later. Now that’s not being selfish, it’s as you say, ‘community building’. It’s ‘paying forward’ for sure, but it’s very enjoyable. I will continue with it, and hope my genuine friends feel the same way. Thsnks for another fun vid.
Totally get what your are saying. I don't get services from people I can't form a relationship with. Some people are in business just for the money but, to me anyway, it is about service and caring
Brother, I like your channel, but I am particulary grateful for these latest video's. The stories are poignant and valuable. This one specifically speaks to my heart. Relationships are what life is all about. Thanks Will!
I appreciate the community you are a part of here will. You may not have millions of subscribers, but I look to the comments and the likes and it’s all positive and uplifting. :-) thank you for helping foster this community!
Always good to make friends with the mechanics and have a relationship with good people. I imagine Neolithic people had good conversations like this while making tools.
Hi Will, great story and yet another fascinating piece of prehistoric technology. The history of the 'discoidal knife' doesn't end there, the Inuits and other Northern hunter gatherer tribes still use this discoidal design for their knives today, although they are now fashioned from scrap steel and are called "Ulu" knives.
Thanks Will. How true. I remember my best friendships as those in my youth, where I was stationary in the same town for over ten years. Then, life hit hard and I had to move around due to the work, and I was forced to be more transient. Relationships at work (in large Companies) are usually competitive, and dishonest, but those from home, where self interests are minimized, are valuable and rare. Good you have such a community. Cherish it. I long to get back to one when I retire. All the best Will. Cheers!
I hope Ralph and his company are doing good during this time of shutdowns and I hope everything is going good with you also, those types of friendships are the best
As always I love to watch you Knap and listen to your stories there are to many people nowadays that just want things as fast as they think they can get it and slowing down to listen to the stories others can tell you make the journey much better and more enjoyable
our northern natives still use a metal/wood version and they do skin thier kills/ process fish and meat. very ifficient tool. i have one in my kitchen also. it would seem our kinfolk that worked in stone was ahead of us.
Wehey comments are on! You're an excellent dude, I can't stop watching your stuff. I live on the South downs and have access to flint. Gagging to have a go. Thinking I might march out of town an up the downs for a bit of lockdown tomorrow!
I also like to strike a friendly , over a purely work relationship with customers, I think it stands me good stead . Nice work will. I wish I could find that quality flint like that down here in Devon.
Too far myself from Bury st Edmunds but have left them a few good reviews based and given a mate a heads up about them who lives in Burston and drives an L200.
Only our health & Family's health, comes before the health of our vehicle. When it is sick, or out of sorts, it's a trickle down in our abilities to be anywhere. Here, in the final resting place State of those Blood Baptized Texans Crockett & Bowie... I & my extended Family have been lucky enough to find the best set of middle aged brothers; who run an inherited garage that they'd worked in since high school for their Mechanic Father. They are Hispanic & work on a cash only basis. The irony here; lays in the fact that my deceased Father was a mechanic all of his life. Each time, over the past 12 years that they repair my or any of my family's vehicle, I always bring them lunch on the day of their payments. I shared with them from the start, that bringing them those lunches, is like bringing it to my own Dad for a job well done. ''Sense of Village'' is a damn important security of soul for all Tribes... be they modern or ancient. Thanks for the opportunity to Amen your gestalt Will. ...tTt...
Have you ever tried knapping quartz? I have some really nice quartz where I live that is like glass, not crystals but solid pieces (layers with mica between) up to about an inch thick. Are the techniques identical?
@@WillLordPrehistoricSurvival I'll try and find some nice pieces for you. Have you got a address listed anywhere? I have a couple of nice old mines in my area. Will hand sized pieces work?
Ever hear of an oyster knife blade in stone? I have two,one in rose quartz. A short broad thick piece with an intentional 1/8 turn in the body both of mine are for a right hand.
IMO opinion we all do much better organizing ourselves in small groups, seems like the neolithic people where naturally democratic, as they had to get along, cooperate and be a contributing member. Sure we have advanced technology, we seem to be less civilized today. We need more comunity and less government, more personal responsibility, less police are needed. We don't need armies, or nucular arms , or these never ending wars, we neeed to heal ourselves first, set things straight, then we can heal mother earth.
I enjoyed that story as much as watching the knapping. Hello from the USA
Well told mate.☀️
What goes around comes around.. your word is your bond. Many thanks for sharing the story Will!

Always good to make friends with the mechanics and have a relationship with good people. I imagine Neolithic people had good conversations like this while making tools.
I also imagine that the Neolithic hunter had good relationship with his arrow maker!
Just sent your story of camaraderie to my various kinsmen so they can get a smile in these troubling times. Thank you for being awesome.

if you were born 6,000 years ago, you would be a very bound man
