Quite the role reversal, with a scrappy band of undead struggling to hold back and escape the relentless dwarven horde. Though Moxis was defeated in this skirmish, it is nice to see that escape is always an option. The Wickerwood Champion and their band of skeletons has been my favorite unit throughout this campaign, so I'm glad to see them escape to terrorize the living another day. And now there's a chance they'll show up again with a shiny new weapon! Moving up in the world! This video was also a good demonstration of how the combat dice rolls work in skirmish games. With a set of stats, I would feel pretty comfortable if I had to jump into an Oathmark skirmish.
It was a tough ask for him, those heavy dwarves are no joke. But as you say, it wasn't all a loss. The basic rules for Frostgrave/Rangers/Stargrave are all pretty simple, the complex part comes from the modifiers(and spells!). My dilemma is how much do I put on screen. Keep it simple and just show the numbers required, or pull back the curtain to show how the mechanics work? And both while the narration doesn't directly reference the rules!
That was one badass zombie, glad to see this series continue. For a guy that fails a lot, Moxis' defeats aren't exactly humiliating defeats, he even managed to run off with some good loot.
Awesome content man. Love how each video has a little bit more flare added. You painting tutorials have really helped as well. I use your methods for almost all of my oathmark miniatures. Keep up the good work. Long live Edmund the Ox
Yeah, I did a minimal amount of searching and I was surprised there were no conversion guides already. My plan at the moment is: Elves get +1F, +1S and -2H. Dwarves get -1M and +1A. Orcs get a "Charge" ability, +1F when they move into contact with an enemy. Humans and Goblins are treated RAW. And Undead get the Undead rule. Is it balanced? Probably not. But for solo gaming, it'll be fine!
Could we please get some detailed videos of the heavy dwarves`? I am sitting here wondering where half the parts comes from, or how much is converted/kitbashed. I am looking at the 2H Guys going for overhead swings like the one at 22:35.
I need to finish the Linebreaker and Heavy Spear units at some stage so I'll be sure to film it. In the mean time, I used much the same process as that I covered in my video on switching hands for the Dwarf Light Infantry: m.ruclips.net/video/ooJbs0Lt-dQ/видео.html All the converted arms for the Heavy Infantry came from the Heavy Infantry sprue, with very little putty work (mainly gap filling) For that particular Dwarf, I think I used one of the one-handed arms on the right, with the weapon cut from the hand, and a two-handed arm on the left, cut at the elbow and repositioned. The hammer would have been cut from the original right hand, cut below the head, and then reassembled with glue around the new right hand. I'll confirm that later on today!
Close, but not quite! I used the right arm from the two handed hammer, with the hammer carefully cut off, and the matching left arm. The right arm was attached as is, just rotated higher than normal. The hammer was cut in two part way down and then glued back onto the right hand so it looks like the shaft is held higher up. The "pommel" was then glued on the end of the shaft. The left arm was cut at the elbow and wrist and reassembled to hold the hammer.

Great series. I think you've found a superb balance for visuals, sounds, story and funny moments.
Cheers JK! Glad you think so!

I think the zombie was the only thing that went Moxis's way. Definitely the MVP.
I'd say Moxis fails upwards, but it's probably more sideways!
@@AshandStoneNZ Sideways, that's funny.

Cheers Jonah! I'm pleased to hear they help out!
I'm learning a bit more each video.
Enjoyed this encounter. I like the use of the Frostgrave rules and the adapted scenario. Great vid.
Cheers Harvey! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
A great video, really liked it. Moxis needs a charm for his dice rolls 😊
Thanks very much Vitor! Yeah, he certainly needs to do something!
Just the video I needed lying sick in bed. Thank you helping with my recovery!
Get well soon!
Great vid as always i was a bit down as im waiting for a lot of very late figure but you put a smile on my face thanks keep up the great work
Cheers Gary! Hopefully your figures turn up soon!
Fantastic video! Would love to see more FG/RoSD stuff on the channel. I am excited to see what the dwarven warband will face in the cave!
Cheers Dan! I'm excited to do some more!
Moxis even struggles as a wizard in a game for wizards... 😅
The poor guy just can't catch a break!
When is Moxis gonna learn, nothing stops a dwarf
I don't know that he ever will!
Awesome! The story continues. Love your vids! Keep up the great work.
Cheers Barry! I'm pleased to hear it!
Love to see some Frostgrave and Oathmark used together.
Yeah, it's a great way of mixing the smaller action with the larger stuff. And there are so many scenarios to choose from!
Great job
Cheers mate, I'm glad you are enjoying them!
This seems to be an unpopular topic in Frostgrave circles, but what stats/rules would you use to represent elves and orcs?

That is a lot of work that went into each of the figures! Very impressed!@@AshandStoneNZ
Yeah, it's a bit of mucking around, but that's half the fun of converting! 🤣
@@AshandStoneNZ Well it shows in the end! I find it a bit daunting to start cutting and greenstuffing to be fair.
@ash and stone; where are the rules for your warband to be undead, i thought that was super cool
I think I just gave them the Undead rule. Keeping it simple!
At this point I just feel sorry for Moxis, the dude just can't seam to catch a break but at the same time..... C'mon Yee Wee Stunty Lads!!!!!!
I know right? One day his luck will change. Maybe.
@@AshandStoneNZ Maybe just hopefully not against the Dwarves, he can go beat them pointy eared princelings if he likes 🤣
😂 He's had, what six? encounters with the Dwarves, and come out second best every time. At some point you just have to give it up!
@@AshandStoneNZ Aye maybe he needs to go fight some Greenskins! That wud be a Krumpin' gud time I'ze bet!
Maybe start off easy with some mangy Goblins. I think Orcs will be a bit much for him as they're proper 'Ard 😄
Frostgrave :)
