Gackt doesnt need the effects. His voice is enough. The effects almost drown him out to an extent, and he is talented enough. I know it's for effect, but I'm all for his voice lol.

@@she4754 wish he could sing without backing vocals. I really wanted to buy the Last Moon Tour Bluray until I saw clips from it. It was 80% prerecorded vocals and when his real voice could be heard it sounded bad.
@fa887 He can, usually, and that's one of the more frustrating things imo. On most DVDs after 2004 or so, he amps up the backing track to ridiculous degrees (or does way too much post-processing). There's the occasional internet streamed live, bootleg tape, or whatnot in more recent years where things don't get nuked to death and he sounds fine, but beyond that, he's been in a trend of over-producing things for quite some time. I backed away from the Last Moon Tour DVD/Blu-ray for the same reason. =/ I'm not surprised by Redemption turning out like this, because its a song that's always been heavy-handed on the backing in lives, but the excessive 'polish' has worked its way into a lot that it didn't used to.
@Martell Leverett In fairness, he was pretty ill during that concert, so I wouldn't use that as a benchmark for his voice. But yeah, it was painful to hear.
