Thank you so much!! Running across your video saved me a ton of time and grief. My XP 3.0 has 255 miles on it and it was doing great until last night. Suddenly, it was completely dead. I am fortunate to have found your video early on in my search for problem-solving tips to rectify this issue. I’m also fortunate to have a Lectric trike as well, which made it possible for me to follow your instructions and very quickly determine that the display is indeed the culprit. Unfortunately, when I called customer service at Lectric, I was told that they were waiting on a shipment of these and I would not be able to get one until the first part of October. Not happy with that! I also asked to purchase an extra one to keep in my bag in case this happens when I’m out in the middle of the woods by myself. I was told that they cannot sell them to customers because they have to keep them in stock for warranty replacements. I am not happy with that answer, but there’s evidently nothing I can do about that. I am very disappointed to have this failure less than four weeks into owning the bike. Seeing that many other owners have experienced a dead screen makes me think it is a common problem that crops up without warning. Having been told that I cannot have an extra one on hand makes me wonder if the Lectric was a wise purchase after all. Thanks, again, for taking time to post a very helpful video!
we are glad the video helped you out. Lectric must have had a bad batch of screens. we have not had a problem since the replacement and the other bike is trouble free. Both have well over 200 miles on them. Sorry to hear you have to wait. happy trails.
When you tested the 1st screen, you used the power on button from the other screen/bike. That won't turn it on even if it worked. I liked the video. I am just letting you know.
I fell on my bike on an icy road this morning and my screen smashed into the ground & came apart 🤦🏾♂️. The LCD was in the snow and outer case was still hanging on. @OurRoadLessTraveled I need to get a new LCD screen and a Shimano 7 gear switch. The bike got a bit scuffed up 2 days ago. I emailed Lectric about what I need. We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

So if the screen isn’t turning on, and the batteries are fully charged, does this mean the motor can’t run without the screen working?
yes, it is a design flaw. all the controls are held in the the screen, so nothing works if it is down.
