Farmers are the backbone of economy. And farming is a laborious task. @@martand7 the reality is for us that have natural intuition about harvesting water from contours and how water behaves is not how these people learn about farming; they are not ignorant it is just they do not have the old traditions and teachings that existed to be shared to these people because governments have usurped these positions but unfortunately they lack real world knowledge and effective on the ground experience to disseminate these systems and to assist their people in droughts. governments are only good for bureaucracy and economic balancing but at the ground level where the people live their daily lives they have no idea! that is why it only took a few days of theory but the application of the theory required a lot of villagers and manpower to build.
The BJP government's total support was also important in achieving this success. Amir Khan started this because he has his political ambitions to fulfill not only social work.

drought is not made by nature but manmade. this is such a true observation. they did not know how to manage their water they did not know how to manage their land this led to them clearing the land for more crops and over fertilising these made the soil lose it's biome but also the biomass retained the water slowing it down to percolate into the ground but instead it became runoff and the situation worsened from there. the simple mindset of water harvesting using permaculture systems has turned these previously drought regions into regenerative and sustainable food and water future proof systems. and these changes happening very quickly seemingly like nature itself knew how to balance itself back to fertility requiring only the basic inputs for man to not interfere but also to not degrade the land with clearing; this allowed for the water to drain into the land like a sponge and this then percolated into the lowest contour areas of the land like the ponds used for irrigation; in turn the ponds would be refilled by the source of the saturated ground that had absorbed the water from the rains that would then keep the pond filled.

There have been so many movies made by famous directors/producers and actors about farmers committing suicide due to drought. They have made millions out of the misery of the poor farmers. But Amir Khan is a great actor and activist who has made life changing work to uplift the living condition of poor farmers. @@martand7 the reality is for us that have natural intuition about harvesting water from contours and how water behaves is not how these people learn about farming; they are not ignorant it is just they do not have the old traditions and teachings that existed to be shared to these people because governments have usurped these positions but unfortunately they lack real world knowledge and effective on the ground experience to disseminate these systems and to assist their people in droughts. governments are only good for bureaucracy and economic balancing but at the ground level where the people live their daily lives they have no idea! that is why it only took a few days of theory but the application of the theory required a lot of villagers and manpower to build.

drought is not made by nature but manmade. this is such a true observation. they did not know how to manage their water they did not know how to manage their land this led to them clearing the land for more crops and over fertilising these made the soil lose it's biome but also the biomass retained the water slowing it down to percolate into the ground but instead it became runoff and the situation worsened from there. the simple mindset of water harvesting using permaculture systems has turned these previously drought regions into regenerative and sustainable food and water future proof systems. and these changes happening very quickly seemingly like nature itself knew how to balance itself back to fertility requiring only the basic inputs for man to not interfere but also to not degrade the land with clearing; this allowed for the water to drain into the land like a sponge and this then percolated into the lowest contour areas of the land like the ponds used for irrigation; in turn the ponds would be refilled by the source of the saturated ground that had absorbed the water from the rains that would then keep the pond filled.
