This piece was recorded on October 28th, 2024 at the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center at the University of Indianapolis. As part of the Faculty Artist Concert Series, I had the pleasure of bringing my band, the 317 Proyecto, in to perform the Fort Apache Tradition: a tribute to the Fort Apache Band. This arrangement is one of the masterful recreations of Jazz Standards that Andy and Jerry Gonzalez did so frequently. I was inspired by their recording of this tune on the album "Obatala."
