Same here. I feel so goddamned angry that alcohol and drugs exist more and more, as time goes on. So many I knew and wanted to at least meet taken by things that I wonder might have been preventable. Can't decide if they could sometimes because of inner demons.
He can sing, he can play the guitar, he can do both simultanously,...oh and he can shred. A complete package.
Could never do it live. At least the 3 times I saw them in the mid 2000s. He couldnt handle his alcohol.

So I definitely just learned first hand that you should never judge anyone. Just by judging this type of music, I was assuming that the people who listened to this genre would be mean. I've seen nothing but nice comments and have been treated and answered to so nicely and genuinely here. Good people 💛
The arrogant attitude you expected was taught to us by Alexi (and other bands in general) through his music, in reality it's just a coping mechanism for the shit we metalheads get from people who call us out on our music, yet we live and breathe our music, they listen it for fun. We are all genuienly crushed to see our Idol fall and we are more than the scary look we give out.

saw them at graspop 2012, best mosh pit i've had in a long time.
saw them again 2013 in the 013 (in tilburg-holland) was just as amazing sound wise.

Yea same kinda, I remember I would try to learn this song in early 2000s,i struggled with the solos,so it inspired me to get better. Although I didn't follow CoB after Death Crew, I always appreciated listening to them,I was hella shocked when I heard he passed like wtf!?!

I remember this was a song I tried to learn to play back in the early 2000s, I always struggled with the solos,but jammin these riffs made my chops better. Youl always live on in your work Alexi.

on concerts he usually drank when he didn't play...but I don't know if he still does. I also remember him grilling sausages over the stage pyro and in an interview Alexi or Janne said something like "Rather than doing nothing we thought we could do some catering service for the fans in the meanwhile"

COB at its best. The shock hit me so hard when I heard he died at the end of last year. I was lucky enough to meet him in the yard of Nosturi when I was only 16. He treated me very politely and respectfully, he was a true gentleman. He also gave me a tour shirt and a few picks plus many beautiful smiles 😍

The group currently consists of Lead Guitarist & Vocalist Alexi Laiho, Keyboardist Janne Wirman, Bassist Henkka Seppälä, Drummer Jaska Raatikainen and Rhythm Guitarist Daniel Freyberg. They have released 13 albums, 2 EPs, and one DVD. The band's 3rd album, "Follow the Reaper" recieved Gold certification in Finland and since then all 7 of the band's Studio albums went Gold. Proving that Children of Bodom Rokki and tämä kappaleen mahtava!
