    You know, I never thought to ask myself why I didn’t stick with an intention. I love the idea of doing this. Maybe I feared self-judgement. Most of the time, the answer was overwhelm. I recently started reorganizing and actually cleaning my room. It will also involve downsizing my storage unit, which has become outrageously expensive. Thanks so much for this video! It made me realize that I was trying to hit 5 tennis balls at the same time, when that isn’t possible, especially since I work 9-5 five days a week. I need to be more gentle with myself. It’ll get done, but maybe I need to step back for a moment and concentrate on one thing. Thanks K :)

    The tennis racquet analogy -- so good! Love your mellow, don't sweat it advice. I mean, sweat when you're working out, but in your thinking about your life?... Nah! We should all work to become better versions of ourselves, but it won't work if at the heart of it we don't do it in a way that allows us to be true to who we are -- human!

    I've heard that psychologists say that it takes 21 days to establish a habit.
    Another person whom I follow says that (for us sidetracked homemakers) it can take a full month; so give ourselves the grace of a few extra days to get back on the wagon instead of quitting when we think we have "failed" if we didn't do it perfectly.
    Your suggestions are right on.

    I hope the vitamin D you are talking is in oil, either olive or coconut, because it's a fat soluble vitamin which means it needs to be taken with fats (usually with a meal). Also, adequate amounts of magnesium for the day, I supplement about 300-400mg, as it's need to activate D supplementation (if it's just sunlight one is getting I don't think it's needed). And then depending on how much D you are taking, K2 (not to be confused with K1 which has to do with blood clotting) helps direct the calcium into your bones and not into your soft tissues (calcification) which is an issue when supplementing D. I studied this hardcore in early 2022 and my serum D levels are great now... when I consistently take my pills. lol It was close to 60 ng/ml last time checked, I was severely deficient years ago and it explained some of my chronic fatigue. My goal is to be between 60-80 (international people, your units are in nmol which is totally different).

    Fun fact mushrooms are sometimes the best source of vitamin D. I am a person who doesn't absorb vit D well, and almost not at all from sunshine ( I live in 1 of the sunniest places in America), and cow dairy also isn't healthy for me, but mushrooms I can do. And I think some species have a higher level than 1 of the other 2 sources, I just can't remember the exact statistics.

    • @cookieLaLa94
      @cookieLaLa94 6 месяцев назад

      I also found out that if you put your mushrooms in the sun for an hour or two it gets even more vitamin D ☺️

      @@TheOrganizedSoprano You are such a darling to have stuck with this question and given me the sad news that TCS discontinued it. I deeply appreciate your kindness in inquiring what I saw. I actually thought, given your history with TCS, that it might have come from there. I have Googled "mesh storage cubes" and searched for them on Amazon, Walmart, and Target but (sob!) no luck. If you should find anything comparable, this loyal 80-year-old subscriber and membership member (if that isn't redundant) would be even more grateful to you than I already am. The appealing thing about your cubes is that they're light and although i exercise, my upper body strength is not all it could be. Bravissima, dear Kay, for all you do!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 (I hope that's the hands clapping in applause emoji. This screen is so minuscule., I cam't be sure, but that's my intention.).

    Just as a little tip re the vitamin D, here in switzerland we have a liquid vitamin d deposit type of supplement that you only take once a month, maybe you have this in the US as well? I never looked for it when I lived there cause I only learned about it when I moved back to switzerland and everyone was like, why do you take this everyday :D you might need a prescription for it but it shouldn't be a big deal if you're deficient.
