Sunny Jakarta so vibrant. Kaya toast ... so soft with the unique coffee serving .... The bikes at the square was so colorful and nice . It was amazing to see the kalak telor rice omlette must have been really yummy and the way he made it by turning the wok... incredible......I would really like to taste the pedang merdeka restaurant with small portion of the food looks so tempting and the similar way of cooking the jack fruit , eggplant..., The prawns and beef curry so interesting.....and finally what a gigantic fish market...... pomfret looked and must have tasted yummy... Thanks for sharing the vedio luke and Sabrina. Be safe and god bless. Namaste
Hi, im quite suprised that you are pretty knowledgeable in indonesian food, which is not common for some other food vlogger that came here before. Also, unlike some other tourists that visit jakarta, you also adapt well with how people here behave (eg: your gf didn't wear too revealing clothes). You deserve more subs
Such fantastic food 😍 omg yum, all those dishes you tried look so good, I love that toast at the start and all those dishes in the restaurant are interesting, I’d love to try authentic Indonesian food one day. I’m also loving the longer videos Luke.
Beautiful place very good foods healthy fresh foods spices and not spicy foods healthy fresh foods thank you for sharing your beautiful video love your video thanks
love how you present the other side of Jakarta, not many vloggers are coming to this kind of place like you did. Pasar Ikan Muara Angke needs more recognition! 😁
no, srikaya is not made of sugar apple. Srikaya usually contains egg, sugar, pandan and coconut milk. although , srikaya ( jam) and sugar apple ( buah srikaya in bahasa ) sound similar, they are not the same.
Saya sebagai warga negara Indonesia sangat bangga. Terimakasi Luke Martin, dengan video" anda di youtube bisa mengenalkan makanan/masakan khas indonesia kepada macan negara. Thank's 👏
Wow! You do what the locals do! Especially the fish market part! Its one of my favourite places to eat seafood in jakarta, where you can eat the freshest seafood in town! Cant wait for another going deeeppp street food in jakarta! :)
Yeaaay can't wait for more jakarta street food to come (*from real street hawkers). Try to find kue cubit, kue ape, kue rangi, ketoprak, sop kaki kambing, batagor, tauge goreng (fried beansprout), etc. Welcome to Jakarta, enjoy!
Hi Luke,, Thank you so much to delight and lift up my city food stories. I hope you stay happy and healthy because I will always watch more and more food video discovery made by you
just found this channel, so far I like it. Just to give other viewer a tips on eating at Padang restaurant, you actually don't have to eat all the foods served on the table. There are two ways to eat at Padang restaurant. One, you go to the food counter and ask for whatever dish you want to eat (in which case you obviously want to eat them all); two, you just go straight to the table, sit and wait or call the waiter for your table to be served. The waiter will then carry an assortment of foods to your table. You don't have to eat them all! you just grab whatever foods you want to eat, and after you finish eating, the waiter going to ask you what you have ate and charge you with only that foods.
Excellent video. Well researched, narrated and shot. Well done! Padang feast looked amazing. Surprised the beef rendang was still chewy after 6h of cooking.
Thanks for visiting my hometown Luke! You look like you had a blast! Loving your editing game, it’s getting even better. You’re gonna join the million subscriber club in the next few months!

Saya sangat senang menonton vlog anda, selalu terlihat bersahabat dimana pun anda berada, menghargai suasana dan juga makanannya, semoga bisa ke indonesia lagi
Welcome to Indonesia and i hope you have a good time while being here. For food related adventure, i recommend you going to Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Bali. Yogyakarta : - Gudeg Yu Djum - Tengkleng Gajah (Gajah means elephant, but it is not an elephant meat. lo. it is just that they serve i in a big size. Like an elephant) - Pempek Ny Kamto (Actually Pempek is originaed from South Sumatera, it is a dish made out of fishcake, not so appealing, but wait until you try it) Surabaya : - Soto Ayam Cak Har (Indonesian style chicken soup) - Bebek Sinjai (Fried Duck with young mang sambal) - Nasi Campur Tambak Bayan (Mixed rice with various proteins on it. Eggs, chicken, beef, etc) - Nasi Cumi Pasar Atom (Squid cooked in its own ink served with toasted shredded coconut, crisp made of rice flour called peyek, sambal) Bali : I honestly never been there before, but they have tons of unique cuisines that you can not easily find anywhere else in Indonesia
Mmmmm... That breakfast set taste soooo goood!!! I really like the kaya toast so much!! That taste sooo delicious and crispy toast!! Everything taste soooo good!! Great review!! Enjoy your trip and see u anytime!! :)
The way they pronounce local food, knowing some details such as kalamansi (instead of say that just 'kind of lime') or bakar (which he knows it related to smoky flavor), I call it dedication!
