Interesting! I haven’t done any testing with it, like I said in the video what I’m relaying is just my real world experience with the camera, not technical data or results from testing. It is possible they released a firmware update that has helped with heat dispersion since when I was using it for extended recording sessions. I repeatedly experienced the overheating issues during shoots between Oct 21 and June 22. Then I got the a7iv in June 22 and haven’t used the ZVe10 for long form recording since. Have never had an issue using it to stream / do live calls (my primary use for it now) even when in use for up to four or five hours. Glad to hear that you were able to get it to record for as long as you did- maybe you can tick off overheating as a con for this camera!
Yeah I’ve never had an issue with streaming even for 4+ hours (never done 24 though haha, props to you for that), just recording 4k internally without stopping the recording at all.
Regarding overheating, have you experimented with changing the "Auto Power OFF Temp" setting from standard to high? @MarkBennettCameraCrisis suggested this to resolve the problem and I'm interested in your real-world experience.
Off the top of my head, I couldn’t tell you for 100% certain what I have the temperature setting set to in the camera. It’s not a setting I frequently manipulate obviously. I do remember looking at it when I set up my settings on the camera 2 years ago and I * think * I did change it to high, but I’ll have to look on my ZVe10 to be sure. I’m shooting for a movie Monday / Tuesday of this week but I’ll make a note to check and report back to you when I get back to my studio on Wednesday. I will note that my experience with the overheating issues occurred between Oct 21 and June 22 when I stopped using it for long form recording. If Sony has made any updates to the firmware to help with heat dispersion since then, then I’m not accounting for that.
So I did get a chance to look at this today and it was set to standard. I guessed I didn’t switch it when I was setting up the camera- so that’s probably why others are able to get better record times. For what I use it for now I’ll probably leave it off but if I even break it out as a c cam or decide to shoot something on it, I’ll more than likely switch it over.
Entirely depends on what you’re using it for. Pretty much everything is upgraded from the a6100 so if you’re using it professionally, then I’d say it probably is- or if you’ve just got the money laying around that you could do it. But if you’re just using it for fun every once in a while, the a6100 is still a fantastic camera and I wouldn’t be worried at all about still using it in 2023.
im really late here so hopefully my question gets answered. I have an eos m50 and was looking for an upgrade mainly for video. Would you consider me just improving my lens selection until im able to get a higher end camera or recommend the zv e10?
Hey great question! It depends a bit on what kind of video you shoot, but the m50 is definitely a great camera, I wouldn’t be too quick to buy a new camera personally. Honestly, besides being able to shoot 4k with good auto focus (which isn’t really that important imo- depending on what you’re shooting), you’ll see zero quality increase by buying a nicer camera. My recommendation, get a good low aperture prime lens (e.g. 30 or 50mm f1.8 lens) and then focus on getting some high quality lights, a mic, good tripod, gimbal, and things like that. That will improve your films a MILLION times more than a new camera. Recently I shot a short film on the zv-e10 and made a bts mini doc about it. Obviously I don’t mention the m50, but everything I talk about in that video (and the other ZVe10 videos on my channel) 100% applies to shooting with the m50 as well. Here’s a link to the doc if you’re interested: ruclips.net/video/argMyPU-ulg/видео.htmlfeature=shared I also made a video not too long ago comparing the ZVe10 to the a7Siii- basically explaining why a more expensive camera doesn’t improve your films. At the end I show a clip shot on the ZVe10 and an identical shot recorded on the a7Siii. They look a bit different, but you can’t tell them apart and they both look just as professional. I’ll drop a link to that as well if you’re interested 😉: ruclips.net/video/oJjqks1JP7Y/видео.htmlfeature=shared Hope this helps! Happy to answer any questions, I try to stay pretty active in the comments 💪🏻
Very similar cameras for sure! My recommendation is the ZVe10 for a few reasons. Here are the main ones: 1. The ZVe10 is a few hundred dollars cheaper, meaning you have some budget to spend on some lights and a microphone which will make a HUGE difference in taking your films to the next level. (Check out the video I posted last month called Cinematic Filmmaking on the ZVe10 for more) 2. The ZVe10 has digital stabilization options. In this video I said I steer away from using it which is true, but it has definitely saved me in several scenarios. The a6400 has no stabilization options which means you’re going to end up with more shaky footage. 3. The ZVe10 has better color representation (especially if you use the settings I explaining in the Cinematic Filmmaking on the ZVe10 video). The a6400 has a much bigger issue with your footage having a slight green tint and the colors just not looking as natural as they do on the ZVe10. 4. The ZVe10 has extended battery life compared to the a6400. Ultimately, while the ZVe10 is my recommendation, both are fantastic cameras and you’d be able to make beautiful films on either. Remember, your camera isn’t what makes incredible films. You do!
If it were me, between those two, I’d get the sigma 30mm f1.4, and use the kit lens for the wide angle shots! But between those two I’d probably go with the 16mm because the 11mm is going to be SUPER wide, probably wider than what you’re going to want most of the time. Best case scenario for you I think would be the Sony 11mm for the super wide shots and the sigma 16-55mm f2.8 for everything else!
The sigma 30mm f1.4! For wide angle shots I usually recommend the 16mm f1.4, but the 30mm is versatile enough it can be used for both wider and closer shots! I just made a video about the lenses I like to use with the ZVe10 a few days ago, check it out here if you’re interested: ruclips.net/video/cE_8qpk4UzI/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Great question! If you have a lens that has OSS, 100% go ahead and use it. It won’t be nearly as good as IBIS or the digital stabilization. Most of my lenses just don’t have it so I never mentioned that as an option in the video. Great point!

The biggest thing the ZVe10 has going for it that you don’t get in the r50 is digital stabilization. In the review of the zve10 that I just uploaded to my channel yesterday I said I lean away from using the digital stabilization in the zve10 which is true, but it is a feature that has saved me on a few occasions and something I definitely still appreciate. With the r50, you can enable stabilization on your lens which is better than nothing, but pales in comparison to how good the stabilization is in the Sony. With that said, these are very similar cameras in many ways. Ultimately, you have to remember than your camera isn’t what makes an incredible film. You do, regardless of what camera or equipment your using. My pick between the 2 would still be the zve10, but not so much because the zve10 is an objectively better camera (again they’re very similar). Rather I’d go with the zve10 because I feel like Sony is way ahead when it comes to the specs in they’re higher end cameras. Sony has been ahead in their specs since the a7iii dropped in 2017, but when the r5 and a7Siii were released in 2020 it really sealed the deal for me that Sony’s options were just ahead. Even the zve10 was released a full 18 months before canon’s compatible offer (the r50). When the zve10 came out, canon’s closest offering was the m50 and m50ii, neither of which were viable in 4k resolution especially when compared to the zve10. So overall I feel like the investment into Sony gear (and especially their lenses) is going to be a better one for the future. But with that said, both companies make great cameras and you’ll be able to make incredible films no matter which direction you decided to go. Again, your camera isn’t what makes an incredible film. What's best for professional use.
I’m thinking about getting a zve 10 but have a hard time finding the right lense for it. I want to make deer hunting videos and films. So I need the stabilization and the zoom distance, not looking for anything super expensive, just something that’s good for what I need it for. Some help would be nice!😅
The Sony 55-210mm f4.5-6.3 definitely could be a great option for you. Only $300 and has a great zoom range. It won’t be great in low light situations, but as long as you’re using it during the day you shouldn’t have any problems. As far as stabilization, you’ll definitely want to enable active stabilization in the camera. The extra crop that gives you might even be a pro rather than a con for you. You’ll also want to get a decent tripod, you definitely won’t be able to just handhold it or even use a monopod or gimbal or anything like that.

Hello! I think the zve10 could be a great camera option for you- but I can’t promise that it will solve the flight flickering problem that you are having. I would probably recommend buying a video light before a camera and see if that solves your problem. Sometimes cheaper lights just flicker on cameras no matter what camera you’re shooting on. I would recommend the aperture 100d with the light dome se. Neewer 660s are also great options. Here is a video I did on lighting! ruclips.net/video/SKhmDfBF8HI/видео.htmlfeature=shared The Sony zve10 does not shoot 4k 60fps, but I would worry about that for you. For me is a tight choice between these two cameras (Sony and Canon) I would consider using a gimbal for either of them like the M3S from Zhiyun! Try them both if you can and tell us your opinion.

Here is a video I did on lighting! ruclips.net/video/SKhmDfBF8HI/видео.htmlfeature=shared
The Sony zve10 does not shoot 4k 60fps, but I would worry about that for you. It does fantastic 120fps slow motion in full 1080p HD.
If you do buy the Sony zve10, I’d recommend setting the temperature settings to high so that it doesn’t shut off on you while recording in a hot area!
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!!
Just Heard just Now about a6700..
Please Comparison Sony ZVe10L vs a6700
I think September 2023 Lunches a6700...
Any drawbacks is there please give suggestions.
@@tanvirithish7565 if you can afford it, the a6400 is definitely a better camera. The specs are much higher quality and I think it will last a long time before being outdated. But it is double the cost of the zve10.
If you’re not ready to spend $1400 on a camera, there’s no reason the zve10 wouldn’t be a great camera for you. Making incredible videos is much less about the camera you’re using and more about the person holding it. I don’t intend to sell my zve10 any time soon!
