As a drywall guy I watch alott if painters go over my work. But I’ve been getting better painting. I’ve noticed that the better quality tools you have the better your finish comes out. I flip homes as well. And I’m working on my third hole right now. And I’ve impressed myself as how goood I can cut it now.
Es…just watched another pro recommend the back rolling of cut ins because off the different texture (brush v roller) it can look like a different color at ceiling….

@@AmericanPaintingContractor These brushes are mostly for exterior, they will leave roping, brush lines, use soft brushes. chinex bristles are super easy to clean, they are made for the paints that dry faster.
Those are sash brushes, not for cutting walls. they leave gaps. when you use an actual wall brush , which is a flat brush, no angle, you get much more even coverage. You need a very good, 3 or 4 inch brush with fine bristles.
As a painter, I often click on a video expecting to scoff. But I Cant knock anything in this video. I AM suprised you didn't spin your brush at the end tho. All that said, I don't like Purdy brushes. Good quality yes, but very limp bristles. Lately though, I've been using this little round purdy trim brush for tight spots.
Every painter has their top quality of hand held brushes. You can have the best brush, but I really believe it’s how good you can cut in. I personally use Purdy brushes. This is just my own personal opinion. I’m not criticizing any company, or anyone.
Don’t like angle cut sash brushes. With a twitch of the wrist a square cut can go back without flipping. Purdy no longer seems to stock brush racks with square cut sash brushes. They also discontinued the 4” XL Titan years ago. The only 4” brushes they sell now have sharp square corners on the ferrule which make it uncomfortable to choke up on. Economists are running design not painters. DIYers don’t want to spend money on good brushes or clean them properly
The music is a huge distraction on a tutorial. Guy is using white paint against white trim … yeah ok … we can really see your lines on that one. Make a video of white paint next to woodwork … that’s what I am up against.
Out of all the videos, this is a real professional. I was taught by a painter to learn to cut with both hands.

Nice.... It's a good idea to use a mini roller to go over the brush lines after you've cut in.
No it's not.
Spoken like an amateur.

That is so satisfying to watch, great job
I mud and paint drywall, but you sir are a very talented professional. Leroy Chavez
Y'all should have done this video with a darker wall paint to really show those cut in lines
Awesome job guys
As the big question goes.
A lot of painter's would argue paint the trim last.
What would you say if someone asked you the question
Thanks
Not me. Top down far to near!
As a painter i rather use a 2 gallon bucket 🪣 and definitely small roller for a better quality cut and a 2 1/2 corona diamond angle brush
Why is it that just about every contractor says the previous guy was trash and used amateur techniques 😂?
Good work
Cutting in next to the thermostat was clutch. This dude is for real 30+ myself

do these brushes hold as much paint as the purdy pro extras
In his experience, yes... but noted that these clean much easier

Glad you and the employees free hand it. People painting over 5-10 years should have no reason to tape each peace of trim that gets painted.
Thats an uneducated, broad statement. A _smart_ painter tapes where necessary.
Why not use a bucket instead of working out of a paint can ? Much more efficient.
What kind of cut bucket do you like?
Because he is a professional of 25 years lmao
That fast forward looked like he was rolling all the way to the ceiling.
I think I can teach you guys how to cut in better and faster if your interested

advertisement for purdy brushes.....
Braaavoooo👍😎
Not sure I really heard any tips?!?!
Cutting in white trim with white wall pait is a poor choice for a visual effect

Notice she says she’s in charge of finances !!!! I believe that goes for every business owner with the wife is the finance manager ??? Lol
Wall paint splatter all over the baseboard. Use tape

Brushlines aren't razor sharp there is a higher standard .
Corona brushes are way better than purdy
Don't be a Douche to your employees!
