My mom was a huge ELVIS fan. On March 20th 2013 mom passed away. The day we laid her to rest. The family met back at my place to relax. After everyone left I went to the basement and turned the radio on and this song started playing. I believe it was mom's way of telling me goodbye. Until I see you again mom. Love me tender. 😪
@Scottbuck455 Sorry for your loss mate, such as sad bittersweet story. I've come to realize that something like that you never truly move on and get over it. No matter how many years go by, you obviously find ways to deal with it so you can live day to day but life never really is the same after. My Grandmother actually passed away 3 months after your Mother did, and it's been 10 years as of June this year and man. I still just miss her so much, and there are certain random things that trigger sadness whenever I think about her. Even to this day, I had a dream about her 3 years after she passed, one time when I was in the living room a few years after that I even saw a commercial of a little girl facetiming her Grandmother and I lost it. I have a friend who her Grandmother is still alive and I just hope and prey she cherishes every moment with her and treats her like gold, I remember a teacher in school who her granddaughter attended that school and it was a year after my Grandmother passed and it made my heart ace a shit ton along with having that reminder. Once again sorry for the loss of your Mother, and hope you are continuing to make it through life.
Love me tender love me sweet Never let me go You have made my life complete And I love you so Love me tender love me true All my dream full fill For my darling I love you And I always will
Elvis is the greatest solo artist and The Beatles are the greatest band. 1 out of every 3 records sold in the U.S. in 1977 was an Elvis record. If soundscan had been around, Elvis would have had no less than 40 albums on the hot 100 at the same time. The Beatles haven’t even come close to that. At no other time in music history in western culture did the sale of guitars ever explode or increase as they did when Elvis burst onto the scene. On Elvis’ records was where his guitarist, Scotty Moore, invented rock and roll guitar. Anyone who can read sheet music knows that Moore initiated the technique known as “power chording”. It’s an alternate chord figure that goes with everything. It’s mostly used by heavy metal and Punk Rock guitar. When Elvis released his first album 85 percent of record players sold were only capable of playing 45’s or Eps. By his fourth album, this almost completely flipped to where they were now selling more players that could play albums too. Elvis was the number one artist on the charts in 50’s, no.2 in the 60’s, no 9 in the 70’s He didn’t write a song but his sheer raw performing talent, his phrasing of a song and ability to make a song absolutely his were all so extraordinary that someone like Chuck Berry - who was a legend and who wrote all of his own songs - still said that Elvis was ‘the best and the best there ever will be He became one of the most significant pop culture icons of the 20th century before passing away at the young age of 42. To this day, he remains the best-selling solo artist of all time, racking up an estimated 600 million to one billion in album sales. The influence of Elvis Presley on his fellow singers and musicians is incalculable, and many of them have gone on the record to say so. The following people became musicians because of Elvis…McCartney, Lennon, Ringo, Harrison(was a musician but changed his goal to rock after hearing Elvis), Buddy Holly (was a musician but changed from country to rock after seeing Elvis on the Lousiana hayride in Lubbock) Elton John was classically trained but changed rock) Mick Fleetwood, Jimmy Page, All The Beach Boys, Keith Richards, Rod Stewart, Roger Daltry, Robert Plant, Steven Tyler, Klaus Meine(Scorpions lead vocalist)Ronnie Milsap, Bob Dylan, Tom Jones, Hendrix (mom took him to an Elvis concert when he was young that’s when he decided to play music) Brian Setzer of The Stray Cats, Glen Campbell… that’s just to name a few Elvis has sold more than 1 billion records worldwide as announced by his record company. (Point of contention for Beatles fans) They can not find one official announcement by their record company stating The Beatles have sold 1 billion records and according to McCartney and I quote “If The Beatles have sold a billion records then somebody owes me the other half of my royalties.” Brian Setzer, “Everything in popular music is a tribute to Elvis” Carl Perkins, “Everyone has their own ideas about what rock is. But make no mistake, The first time anyone ever did what was called rock-a-billy was when Elvis, Scotty and the boys started recording” Roy Orbison, “Elvis was the firstest with the mostest”… Dick Clark, “I know he didn’t write the songs but there isn’t anybody or act in rock and roll history that was more influential than Elvis” ca.1990 “There are some songs only Elvis could sing” Dick Clark, ca. 1987 Lennon, “Before Elvis there was nothing” Bob Dylan, “I don’t look at myself as a ‘poetic genius’ ‘voice of a generation” or anything like that, I just want to be Elvis”….as told to Ed Bradley of 60 minutes around 1997 Bobby Womack black performer and producer, “Elvis sent a shockwave through the black community like nobody I have ever heard before. Now that’s power” B.B.King, “Elvis had an influence on all of us. They didn’t make a mistake when they called him the king” Little Richard, “About every 1000 years God sends the world a messiah, Elvis was ours” Lenny Kaye (lead guitarist for the Patty Smith Group and a musicologist) “It doesn’t happen very often that you can go to Mount Olympus to see a performance. Elvis functioned as a God”….his review of going to Elvis at Madison Square Gardens concert. Glen Campbel, “Elvis is the best singer that ever lived” Writer of Mary in The Morning, “I think Elvis was the best singer ever” Trisha Yearwood, “You’ve got to be pretty bold to try and take on an Elvis vocal performance” Comedian Eddie Murphy, “Richard Pryor and Elvis were the biggest influences on me. I just thought they were the coolest people ever” Tom Jones, “Elvis made a song different simply by the way he sang it” Dennis Miller, ‘The jury has been out on the who was bigger Elvis or The Beatles a long time ago. You don't see a need for thousands of Beatles impersonators worldwide do you?’ Elvis hit a level in cultural and music history that was so high he simply cannot be assessed in terms of popularity. This isn’t debatable. Elvis was by far more influential than anyone before or after. I put a range of music people as to what they said about Elvis to make the point. There’s Elvis and then there’s everybody else….. “Elvis had an influence on everybody with his musical approach. He broke the ice for all of us.”-Al Green “Elvis is the best ever, the most original.” -Jim Morrison “Elvis Presley possessed genuine rhythm guitar chops” - Johnny Cash “Nobody can sing blues better than Elvis”. -Jackie Wilson, "Nobody can sing the gospel better than Elvis" -Mahalia Jackson “I remember Elvis as a young man hanging around the Sun Studios. King “He was a unique artist, an original in an area of imitators.”-Mick Jagger “He was just amazing and spectacular. He really opened the door to my whole love of music. Because of him, and because of the choice of his material, I found Smiley Lewis [and] all those great singers.”-Robert Plant “Elvis was the king. No doubt about it. People like myself, Mick Jagger and all the others only followed in his footsteps.”-Rod Stewart “You have no idea how great he is, really you don’t. You have no comprehension-it’s absolutely impossible. I can’t tell you why he’s so great, but he is. He’s sensational.”-Phil Spector “There have been a lotta tough guys. There have been pretenders. And there have been contenders. But there is only one king.”-Bruce Springsteen “I wasn’t just a fan, I was his brother. He said I was good and I said he was good; we never argued about that. Elvis was a hard worker, dedicated, and God loved him. I love him and hope to see him in heaven. There’ll never be another like that soul brother.”-James Brown “When I first heard Elvis’ voice, I just knew that I wasn’t going to work for anybody; and nobody was going to be my boss…Hearing him for the first time was like busting out of jail.”-Bob Dylan
“Elvis Presley is like the ‘Big Bang’ of rock ’n’ roll. It all came from there and what you had in Elvis Presley is a very interesting moment because, really, to be pretentious about it for a minute, you had two cultures colliding there. You had a kind of white, European culture and an African culture coming together-the rhythm, OK,, of black music and the melody chord progressions of white music, just all came together in that kind of spastic dance of his. That was the moment.” -Bono “Ask anyone. If it hadn’t been for Elvis, I don’t know where popular music would be. He was the one that started it all off, and he was definitely the start of it for me.”-Elton John “Elvis is the greatest cultural force in the 20th century. Three years ago my Mom passed away. She was an angel that loved Elvis songs. This was one of her favorites. When I hear it I think of her and her undying love for me. I miss her so very much. I love you Mom.
My mom passed 6 years ago. She was a fanatic. I buried her with a Elvis quilt (or so i thought different story) it was supposed to be so i can say "she's sleeping with Elvis". I used this song in her memorial video. LOVE IT. Her name is Eliva!
God rest your soul, dear Elvis. You truly were one of the greatest singers of all time. Thank you for your service in the Army, and thank you for sharing your wonderful talents with the world. You will live forever in our hearts!

What a beautiful song 💗 I just watched this movie for the first time, and the ending really got me, after the funeral and they show him singing this song... It's a major tear-jerker because Elvis is no longer with us. It's like the movie predicted it somehow, that he will be gone and leave a beautiful legacy 😥😥

This comment section is making me bawl! 😢 So many lovely memories of how people’s parents loved him. I was 11 years old in the back seat of my parents car when we heard he had died. I’ll never forget it. We went home and listened to him on the radio nonstop. And now I have a little black pug I named Elvis Pugsley. ❤❤❤
I grew up hearing Elvis Presley songs. He's the greatest! This was my Mom's, r.i.p., favorite song. I think I might be the only one in my family who knows that. Well, maybe someone else might know.
Love me tender love me sweet Never let me go You have made my life complete And I love you so Love me tender love me true All my dream full fill For my darling I love you And I always will わからなくなった

Brand new Elvis book, Elvis: The Quest for an Oscar, great cover, 536 pages. The book will convince you that Elvis deserves an Oscar for his contributions to the movie industry. Elvis was able to capture the persona of all the characters he played to perfection. The 31 movies that Elvis made always entertained everyone who watched them. Austin Butler will most definitely receive the Oscar for his dynamic performance in “Elvis”. It’s time Hollywood gave Elvis the Oscar he deserves. “Elvis”, the movie you must see, Elvis: The Quest for an Oscar, the book you must read
Love me tender, love me sweet, never let me go. You have made my life complete, and I love you so. Love me tender, love me true, all my dreams fulfilled. For my darlin' I love you, and I always will. Love me tender, love me long, take me to your heart. For it's there that I belong, and we'll never part. Love me tender, love me dear, tell me you are mine. I'll be yours through all the years, till the end of time. (When at last my dreams come true Darling this I know Happiness will follow you Everywhere you go).
Hello from Kyoko. I am Elvis's neice from Japan. I was a student of U of M in the U.S.A. when he passed away in 1977. I enjoy him singing ;especially, this song because I was once on stage with him at my age of 4. He introduced me Japanese Doll.
“Love me tender, love me sweet, never let me go. You have made my life complete, and I love you so. Love me tender, love me true, all my dreams fulfilled. For my darlin' I love you, and I always will. Love me tender, love me long, take me to your heart. For it's there that I belong, and we'll never part. […] Love me tender, love me dear, tell me you are mine. I'll be yours through all the years, till the end of time.”
My gran loved Elvis especially This song and every time I listen to it it always brings a tear to my eye. When ever I would go to see her she would always be playing it.
Elvis Presley's Mother, Gladys never would watch this Elvis film again due to Elvis's character dyeing in the film. He did alright in this film in the actor sense of thinking as well. He was and is the King of Rock and Roll. Sjctcb.

Man i swear to god, this man did not had a bad hair day in all his life. What a performance, there will never be anyone like him !

Three years ago my Mom passed away. She was an angel that loved Elvis songs. This was one of her favorites. When I hear it I think of her and her undying love for me. I miss her so very much. I love you Mom.
I just fought with my mom. I feel guilty af and i can't seem to swallow my pride to say sorry. Fuck.
Cody Eyon I've just lost mine on monday... I can't stop cryin' over this song. I will always love her and miss her so much.
Cody Eyon I killed mine, but I can still appreciate how sweet is your coment and this song.
My mom passed 6 years ago. She was a fanatic. I buried her with a Elvis quilt (or so i thought different story) it was supposed to be so i can say "she's sleeping with Elvis". I used this song in her memorial video. LOVE IT. Her name is Eliva!
Cody Eyon that's so sweet am crying now 😢😢😢
This song is a wonderful lullaby you can sing to your baby in the crib.
Anyone else feel like crying?
+thetacooooos Yup
This song, "Are you lonesome tonight," and "Can't Help Falling in love" make me sob like a baby
I’m crying

Depends on the day. Sometimes I can listen to Elvis a whole day and not really cry then others I can't stop. Strange the human emotions.
I can't get through the first half of the song without a tear falling. Elvis Presley touches my heart very deeply
This is the greatest Elvis song!
He really is singing for someone he loves. This song will always be singularly Elvis's !!!
I want to live in this time.
No internet bruh
The 50s or the 1880s? This movie is set the day after the end of the Civil War

My dad loved Elvis and this was his favorite song. RIP, Dad, I miss you. 1944-2018.
This song was on at my granddads funeral

I hope it’s on mine
I'm sorry for your loss too.
God rest your soul, dear Elvis. You truly were one of the greatest singers of all time. Thank you for your service in the Army, and thank you for sharing your wonderful talents with the world. You will live forever in our hearts!

The MAN, the KING, the LEGEND. GREATEST singer ever. TCB ☇
I cried when Elvis died in this movie. love me tender. it was told Elvis mother cried to when watching this movie w Elvis. Elvis had to calm her down.
Sandra Miller what's the movie's name?
Diana Moscoso love me tender Elvis said she cried a told him I don't ever want you to die again in a movie son. A he promised her he wouldn't. Elvis was a good actor but it was Parker who wouldn't let Elvis spread his wings more. So Elvis gave in a told Parker I'll tour poor Elvis was used hurt a betrayed. I believe he got fed up w Vegas a wanna out a wanted to start living his older yrs for Jesus Christ who he always loved a kept his faith in it never waved I believe in the last couple yrs of his life he found his peace w god a god took him home
He loved, and respected his mother so much, truly a gentleman :')

C'est ma grand-mère qui m'a fait découvrir Elvis presley j'avais 5 ans aujourd'hui j'ai 41 ans Elvis a toujours était mon chanteur préféré

My dad was a big fan. we played this song on Friday for his funeral 😢😢😢 he past away on 14th September 2024

I grew up hearing Elvis Presley songs. He's the greatest! This was my Mom's, r.i.p., favorite song. I think I might be the only one in my family who knows that. Well, maybe someone else might know.

I am 77 years old, I saw this elvis film in the scala picture house in BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND IN 1956, still a great memory.
Beautiful, soulful, and soothing..
Almost feels like a sweet lullaby from your lover!! 😴 😌 🎶 💓 💕 💖
This was my dad’s favorite song and he’s a big fan of Elvis. He used to sing this song to me and my sister as a lullaby. RIP to both my Dad and Elvis.
I want to be born once again in 1950s Era . It's the Era of gold people loved each other no selfishness no fake people

Love me tender,
love me sweet,

You have made my life complete,
and I love you so.
Love me tender,

all my dreams fulfilled.
For my darlin' I love you,
and I always will.
Love me tender,
love me long,
take me to your heart.
For it's there that I belong,
and we'll never part.
Love me tender,

tell me you are mine.
I'll be yours through all the years,
till the end of time.
(When at last my dreams come true
Darling this I know
Happiness will follow you
Everywhere you go).

Am I the only one in tears 😭. Getting goosebumps and I wish I had a guy sing this song to me.
I think about my great grandfather when I here this song... My great grandpa saved 10 people in the WWII.
He was a hero and died in a peaceful way.
👌
Elvis Presley's Mother, Gladys never would watch this Elvis film again due to Elvis's character dyeing in the film. He did alright in this film in the actor sense of thinking as well. He was and is the King of Rock and Roll. Sjctcb.
