Excellent
I always love the 4 staccato notes at the beginning of the sections they precede. If nothing else they make you concentrate on making the correct change to legato and are always very interesting anyway. Some nice high notes emerged in this but I'm greedy and would love more, and higher too! Not that I'm criticising - I know you have to cater for everyone. I hope I haven't overdosed on lip trills today - I did my usual batch in the pre-warm ups that I always do before the actual vocalizing. There is a great variety in this lesson Jeff, so as always a great big THANK YOU. Enjoy your Sunday.
Wonderful, Diane! Thank you for your feedback! I don't know if it's possible to overdose on lip trills! Indeed, this lesson hovers closer to the secondo passaggio transition, as opposed to exploring more of the range beyond that. I'm a bit overdue for an extended range warm up, so I'll get it into the production schedule!
Thanks, Diane!
Jeff
I don't think you can overdose on lip trills either Jeff. They are a wonderful discovery! That sounds really great, some extended range warm ups. What is your opinion about voice straws? They are pretty expensive and I use the inner from a tube of cling wrap, but the space is a fair bit wider, about a centimetre, so I try to close the gap around the opening with my hand. I saw on an opera warm up by a pro opera singer, whilst working on the high ranges, that if they are not "quite coming" properly, use one of those party blow tubes, where the tissue paper end rolls outwards, and do doggy pants. This seems to work for me using that tube thing. I am thinking about getting the proper straws (they are metal based I presume) but would value your thoughts first. THANK YOU JEFF.
did I ever tell you I love you? 'cause I do!
Thank you so much!
You're welcome! Big love right back at you!!!
