Create a time machine, go back to 1995. Make people listen to this track and another one from the current electronic scene. Ask these people which one is from 2004 and which one is from 2022. Pretty sure they would say Hireklon is from 2022, simply because the "minimal fever" back in the 2000s was the future, and nothing more cutting-edge and educated has been created since then in my opinion. Hipsters brought a "retro" vibe in electronic music since the return of deep house at the end of the 2000s, and everything went down the drain.

Since the 2010s, a retro and less meticulous crafting has been invading the electronic scene. Many many many "micro techno" artists from the 2000s jumped into this retro bandwagon and started delivering more classic house or 303 techno/electro. This tendency is, in my opinion, still strong today, many tracks sound like a slightly enhanced version of some 90s stuff, and definitely not as bold as the micro sounds of the 2000s. Just my opinion and feeling, though. ; )
I expect NOTHING less From Villalobos, than a masterpiece of Mintech. he usually delivers....If not...it is because he out does himself.
