Many koodoos to TANNOY. I've heard them back in the 70's and was very impressed. I'm a 4311 JBL guy and still have my 1979 stereo system. Thanks for sharing these beauties.
These speakers I have heard in a large room, and there was a grand piano nearby, and They did a 1:1 sound pressure volume test by having someone in the room hit a middle C on that grand, and then played a classical record starting out on middle C and you could not tell another Grand piano was in the room playing the same note.. You had to listen fast, but evidence was there. Any LP recording in your home of a solo Grand Piano recital, will sound exactly the same in your room. Astonishing
gorgeous, dude. not just the speakers either. the home is really nice, too. the furnishings are a bit "fancy" for my taste, but it's a super nice place...
One of the most life like sounding speakers ever made! You feel the air move, they just sound so good. A speaker that should go up in value the longer you have them.
My uncle had the first version of these speakers. Tannoy recommend so large a toe-in that the drivers cross in front of the listening position, no reviewers seem to follow these instructions, which is a shame, because when toed-in the sound is at the next level, real, very real.
I own a pair of Canterburys and have them crossing infront of me. It increases the sound stage depth and reduces side wall reflection. Plus you get a larger sweet spot l think because as you move your head to one side the speaker that's closer becomes more off axis and quieter and the other one louder.
I didn’t get to listen to these monsters but in 1984 i heard the GRF Memory & it left such a deeeeep impression. It redefined scale, effortlessness & musicality at that time & perhaps even today. Solid stuff.
Your room and my room are almost identical!!!! I ended up with Alcons Audio MKII three ways with 15” drivers and pro ribbons that can push 125-130db paired with Alcons Sentinel 10. Was an expensive route to go but needed the horse power to fill the space. My space is actually a little larger than yours by the looks of it so completely understand your “Room Issues”.
Loved everything Kevin thank you! I know you love the Doors like i do, i hope in a future video you could tell me which Tannoy is the best for The Doors between the other series, Ardens, Kensingtons or the GRF loudspeakers... Thanks!
Hey Kevin, don’t you also have a dedicated listening room in your house that you teased us with a sneak peak a year or two ago? Would love to see it as well.
You said your last house was in upland is that upland, California? If so i used too live there but moved two years ago too Georgia couldn't deal with the over population, traffic and stupid politics their anymore. Way more happier that i got out of California finally.. I dont have this kind of money too spend on speakers but id really love too own a pair of the tannoy xt8f speakers but idk if i can find a dealer near me unfortunately..
Doesnt the pottery rattle when you crank the Tannoys? Also, I dont see any acoustic treatment or vibration devices. Wouldnt the TV in the middle affect the sound stage?
I actually like them , not sure what klipsch speakers you've been playing with . But their upper end gear especially their older speakers heritage , la scala , kg series posses excellent value
I’m surprised at you. As an audiophile, someone who appreciates well reproduced music. Why would you choose to purchase and move into a property whose acoustics, in your own words are, “crappy”.
You do not deny your wife the house she wants to buy because of the acoustical properties of the living room. You will never be allowed happiness again.
Kevin will be cryogenically treated one day.
#1 Best Comment Of The Post Award!!!
He already is.😂
One of your BEST videos! Utterly amazing pair of speakers and you and your wife are blessed, enjoy life my man!
You lucky dude . Tannoy didn't become a generic name for a PA for no reason. They are brilliant.
That's one of the wildest speakers I've seen! Looks great!

Great review Kevin.

Totally iconic speakers, I’d love to hear something like this in person.
If you ever are in Mexico city, there is a bar that plays them

Do you have a spare bedroom I can rent? You won’t even know I’m there. Love your content. You are da man!

Bang and Olufsen been doing their own thing for nearly 100 years!!
i love tannoy ... tannoy is boss
"I Love It " she's a keeper
My whole house can fit in your living room. Sucks to be a Jerry springer family. lol🤣
Loved everything Kevin thank you! I know you love the Doors like i do, i hope in a future video you could tell me which Tannoy is the best for The Doors between the other series, Ardens, Kensingtons or the GRF loudspeakers... Thanks!

Congrats on the house, speakers and beautiful wife…
Superb
Are they still made in Scotland? I thought they closed their factory in Scotland.
Where cans
I audition the Westminster's in Washington, DC area ?
How about tannoy vs Bower and Wilkins speakers?
Hey Kevin, don’t you also have a dedicated listening room in your house that you teased us with a sneak peak a year or two ago? Would love to see it as well.
I thought that. Didn't he get some focal utopia.
@@geoffreywelsby7434 Yea, i think the focals where placed upstairs if memory is correct
Yeah, he never followed up on the review even though he said he would. 😢
@@TheMrgonzalo05 Did it! Focal Grande Utopia video!
Good to see some people have proper taste...to NOT ruin their fireplace mantle by sticking a TV on top of it.
What would you recommend for loud rocking Tannoy wise for 10 grand per pair
Aaah McDonalds, another fine Scottish brand!
anyone heard the tannoy royal kingdoms ?
nice speakers but i wouldn't have them stuck in that wall unit
Yah I ask myself that too that speaker totally seems wrong there

You Know he never answers you guys
Oh god, enough with the BS about flat panel tv’s affecting the sound.
Soundbar!
Doesn't this type of placement create tons of issues ?
KLIPSCH HORN JUBILEE Kevin Deal a better choice for that position
Is this guy even capable of sitting still, relaxing and listening to music? I doubt it.
klipsch sucks so bad
YOUR IN DENIAL
I actually like them , not sure what klipsch speakers you've been playing with . But their upper end gear especially their older speakers heritage , la scala , kg series posses excellent value
These aren’t Klipsch buddy, lol.
Well, Tannoy is also kind of gone , …….
Still a lot of doubts around Tannoy this times ,
That Westminster Royal are not new Tannoy , so a different story altogether , beautiful sounding and looking
I’m surprised at you. As an audiophile, someone who appreciates well reproduced music. Why would you choose to purchase and move into a property whose acoustics, in your own words are, “crappy”.
That’s just his main shared living area. He has another dedicated listening space in the house with Utopias.
You do not deny your wife the house she wants to buy because of the acoustical properties of the living room. You will never be allowed happiness again.
Nah. KEF LS50 Metas would be fine in your room.
😂
I bet you with a sub, they’d be pretty kickass actually.
