I double checked and the video is correct. I think I know what you did. You used +8 at the end instead of -8. Then you will get an answer like you said.
The gradient of the graph f(x) and any cubic function is the first derivative. The gradient of a straight line( A.K.A a tangent drawn at a specific point like at 1:12 ) is y=mx+c . The gradient of the cubic graph and that of the straight line are equal when touching a specific x value, bcz they are parallel to each other, and parallel lines have the same gradient. I hope this helps, as that is how I understand it 😊
I think it's because when you substituted the 2 into the gradient formula 3x²-6x-6 you forgot to add you square when typing it into the calculator 😭😭 mistakes like this happen often

just came across this video tried it on my own but i get the gradient as -12 plz and c as 0😭
