Just purchased this for my bedroom. I do find it works great and is perfect for my application there. Don’t need a sub or surrounds there. It provides enough bass for a bedroom. I have a complete Sonos system for my living room, which works great there. Really nice review I enjoyed your demo and knowledge.

It only has the one hdmi with a 4K pass through hdmi as well. I have noticed that it passes 4K but has trouble with Dolby Vision used in the Apple TV 4K. It will cause the screen to go black and then come back periodically. You have to run to the tv then use the optical in on the Bose.

some soundbars use pwm type amplifiers and pwm type powersupply.best to use just for woofer or sub.but they use it to power the main amp also.and iff they use a pwm type amp for the mids and highs it will have some negative effect on the sound tonality and smoothness.hard to explain.pwm can filter down noice from the power conversion down to the hz wee hear.pwm power supply does the same.best advise is to read up on sound and listen to many system and use some time.then the chance is great for years off good sound.

You have a minimalistic living room design with some space limitations around the right side of your TV. In your case, a soundbar MIGHT be your best option for sound quality.
If you're ok with a little bit of extra bulk and an extra component, you can upgrade to a home theater system. Even for $699 you could build a basic 5.1 home theater system that will blow any soundbar setup out of the water.
Notice that most Cable/Satellite TV companies, as well as online streaming services such as Netflix transmit Dolby Digital audio with their content. You NEED at least a 5.1 channel home theater setup using a receiver that's capable of decoding Dolby Digital to take advantage of this technology.
Now remember, this is 2017. Dolby has come a long way. Now it's about Dolby Atmos. You need a 5.1.2 speaker setup with a receiver capable of decoding Atmos. Take a look around RUclips at people showing off their setup. Get some ideas, learn some things about Home Theater Audio. Sure, that LG OLED can decode Atmos, but the experience just isn't there.
Remember, Audio is half the experience of TV viewing. You've got the perfect TV, now go for the perfect audio. You will be amazed at what you've been missing all these years.

most my thing is second hand buy.and my power amplifiers is build by me.(NOT design by me)i am over 50 and have worked with sound equipment most my life-:I Know; snooze god asume!..Do you have a oled? my is set up an calibrated for use with pc.no problem.do not drive my car on full trottle cause engines will wear out fast. the same go for tv users with their settings at higher than needed levels for a high fidelity picture in a normal ligth room.No problem with burn in..No problem with burn in on my plasma that is still going strong.used it from 2010 to 2016 as my main monitor/tv when i bougth this lg oled.i have look at the oled/amoled tech since the first screens around 2003.lcd is also proon to burn.and if you like to be stuck in the old times you can by samsung Qled wich is a lcd like all led tv,s are a tecno that are as old as me. A sound bar or all other system with swich mode powersupply they will not last more than around 5-6 years before you can expect problems.some more expencive brand use electrolytic capasitors and good components in their swich mode supply they last longer.the same with tv.s that all have swich mode supply know.LG has not a good reputation on their supply in cheap tv models but it is so with other brand also.in a medium to good tv or monitor it should last 10 years off daily use.today they make things that dont last as long.and trend have been shorter and shorter life on products.cause they are greedy.i have bougth 2 tv.s new in my life.that is not much when you live in some off the richest contry in the world.my equipment will last longer than then yours anyway.so i asume you are by your coment envios? he he he.Dont be.not a nice thing to be.I asume you are younger than me so you will probably live longer than me or what?my personal opinion on suround is that you need only 2 dipol type speakers in a rectangular room set upp properly with nicam decoding or some decoding based on that type.there are physics prinsip working in sound.when you have small moving diagram/membrane you get less sound out.not just db,but bigger more realistic picture off the instruments.Who wants to wach film on a 20 inch when you can get a 55 inc?most want the 55 cause it give a more realistic image.take the soundbars and messure the speakers moving area to some bigger fullrange off deesent quality you can see the differense in number.that should tell you somthings that all people with more than 2 braincells to rub together wil understand:Sorry for my bad english

I bought one of these with a acoustimass sub, worked fine for three days, then the problems started, it wouldn't pair with the sub anymore, loss of sound from the TV.
We had a sound engineer come round, he took one look at it and said these are riddled with problems. Looked on the Bose. Community pages and yep, lots of issues.
Room it back and got a sonos playbar and sub, loads better.

Spoke to customer service at 3 different Bose stores today about these reports you are referring to and they explained that it’s basically user error with all these reports. Mostly it’s people not knowing how to correctly use their ARC channels or people not setting up their TV audio settings correctly. Firmware updates have solved all issues. Only issues left are people.

sound bars are not god for stereo sound or suround sound. 2 dipol speakers with nicam type sound format.play better simulated suround.it helps with suround speakers around you but the price are way to high.i have paid less for my suround system when i bougth it for some years ago.ofcourse without the speaker i have today.they are build by me.and the drivers i use is planar type mids and amt type tweeter with 2 12 inch bms 330.I want high fidelity.and i mean high fidelity..i fix electronic. And over the years i have seen so much plastic product from bose.they uses lots of fancy words .their amps are not well made.no god dsp chip no god ad or da converters they are low end all off them.Sorry..Have a friend that was a Bose fan.He is no longer a Bose fan.He went for a real god suround system that play everything much better and with more fidelity for the same amount off money.he could bougth kick ass speaker system in senitivity and sound quality.a god speaker play everything god.!if they say this speaker is god for rock ,then it is a badly made speaker.

Bose you get less for more.over prized and not the best electronics or drivers in it.have not seen a bose product where the prize match the quality.i would go for a high quality sattelit speaker system aktive with auto setup with a sub.Bose uses lots of names on their tech as its somthing new or spesial.it is not.

Nice grammar! I think you are the “spesial” one. Don’t be jealous because you can’t afford a Bose. Get a job!
