I worked with a guy who made me an entire CD with nothing but Outlaw Star music on it, (with Family Guy skits in between tracks). One of the best mix CD's I've ever had. To this day I thank him for such a gift, although I haven't seen him in years. We worked together in Corporate Security for Allied/Barton at the State Street Building, 1 Lincoln St. in downtown Boston. 3rd shift! Memories.
I always felt a sad longing during the credits, the ambience of the music with the cool imagery; knowing I'll never get to see those places..I know I can't be the only one right?
I feel that bro. When I feel that way I'll take some acid and watch the show, I never actually visited the places but I did feel like I was there with them. I'll tell you from the outset though cause no1 told me, some of the stuff in that show is scary on a tab, like what happened to Harry; just thinking about that is.....woah. Never be afraid to press skip.
This was my favorite ending for Outlaw Star. After watching an epic space adventure, this song always felt like the perfect way to cap it off with a nice calming song.
The episode when the young boy was supposed to meet that girl but the team ended up engaging her in battle and unknowingly killed her really hit hard when this song played right after.
Sitting here with tears, thinking about how amazing life was when I was a child/teen. Sitting here stuck in the feeling that there is no possible way to go back in time and avoid some of the experiences I came to know, the pain that was unavoidable. For me, life is like a never ending, black abyss. I feel trapped and caged. Life is like a video game that I did not opt to take part in. There is no escape.
+Fayt Sypher Thank you very much, my friend :) I really appreciate your comment. Funny enough, things are looking much better now. I'm enjoying life more and more. I'm more focused on my goals now and can see the light at the end of the tunnel much more clearly. Yeah, Outlaw Star is amazing. I also have some of Akino Arai's beautiful music that I bought from iTunes. I hope everything is working out for you as well :)
I grew up during that time too. I get the nostalgia. I understand wanting to go back. But we need to remember our memories are rose colored. While it'd be beyond nice to visit, in the present, as long as we're still alive we have the ability to change our present to whatever we desire, and create new memories. We're also blessed we have the ability to relive the art that helped capture that time freely now, in the age of the Internet, and share it with new people we love.
I close my eyes listening to this song takes me back to when I was a kid when I would stay up watching the midnight run on Toonami not having to worry bout anything besides being caught cuz it was passed my bedtime Lololololol
What a blast from the past. I remember staying up late just to to watch Outlaw Star, then falling asleep to the sound of this dreamy end theme ♥. I really miss those nights.
Bruh I’ll never leave alone how enchanting and calming the singers voice sounds alone, even with that reverb, especially when she hits that high note during the hook.
Crazy to see people talking about the memories it brings back and how old this all feels to them, and then I see the comment's age --11 years ago. 34 years old as of the time writing this (2023), anime and music like this were literally a major part of my "coming of age" and will never be forgotten.
I’m sitting here with my 10 year old listening to this and the nostalgia begins...in my adult years I’ve grown out of watching anime. It’s amazing how traits can carry on to our children without us even introducing them to some things. One day I found my daughter watching anime and without guiding her she loves it. ALL ON HER OWN! People always say she looks just like me but it’s amazing how the similarities don’t stop with appearance. She pushes me to get back to drawing and watching anime...I wish she could experience the way things were back when I was a child...much better times...
Anime was my savior when I had no friends growing up and now I’m surrounded by people of likeness and interest. Anime saved me and brought me friends later in life. Especially the music.
Shoutout to everyone here from 2020. Stay strong, yes it was amazing to have experienced this beautiful song growing up. Pass it on!!! And remember that just like remembering this song, we shape and inspire others and give memories. Moments in passing forever engraved in our hearts and minds.
Absolutely beautiful i never tire of this song no matter how many times i listen to it I love how they paired this song with the scenary of the moon kingdom that was intelligent thinking outlawstar kicked serious ass a anime I can watch over and over despite it being from the 90's but then again weren't the 90's anime friken A
This ending marked the moment when Outlaw Star really began to get better. There was moments the first time they flew away in the Outlaw Star for the first time without Hilda to guide them and during the big race, but the fight with the crooks pretending to be terrorists was really the moment when the series really came together.
This was one of my favorite anime's from the Cartoon Network Toonami years;next to Cowboy Bebop. I never cared to much for the first ending song from Outlaw Star. It was a tad bit slow for me. The 2nd ending(this one) was always my favorite. This song is so beautiful. Light and fluffy like a cloud and even that doesn't describe its beauty.
This was one of those songs, that you hear when you are young and that gets caught in your mind. A good number of years (I'd say damn near a decade) this song would occasionally pop up in my head, just bits and pieces. I had no idea what it was from, until that magical night the old Toonami came back.
I miss coming home from school to watch Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo and DBZ (many more of course). This ending really hits that nostalgia spot. Watching the last episode on a Saturday of all days was astronomical back then.
the most beautiful song ever written, melodically and lyrically. A girl wishes that the moon in her heart will always watch over and protect her lover. That kind of vibe is what I feel for my bf. Totally befits such a great anime, wonderful song
Yes, it's the Moon Kingdom from Sailor Moon. I find that awesome putting a picture from Sailor Moon and using the second ending theme from Outlaw Star as a good music video.
There's something to be said for a song that drives you to tears, no matter how many times you listen to it. Had I not known of Outlaw Star, and were to somehow still come upon this song, its melody, rhythm, and overall presence would be just as powerful. Thankfully, I have the memories of Gene, Jim, Aisha, Melfina, and Suzuka to sweeten the experience that much more. Cheers to this incredible anime, and all of the experiences that come with it, enriched by its divine music.
A series I grew up with on those late nights, with loveable characters, captivating storyline, and ending songs that will never leave me for the many years I will live.If I had one series to own back in the day,it would be Outlaw Star
The first ending had this tragic, grander sound to it- making it bittersweet. This one is calm with some intertwined beats, very relaxing and mature, like you've finally come a long way and have grown up.
I never seen any episodes of Outlaw star, but for some odd reason whenever I'd watch Toonami I'd always catch the end credits and would hear this song.
This has long been part of the playlist I listen to as I reminisce about my favourite anime convention after it's over, go through all the photos I took and try not to cry as I realize it'll be another year til the next one. Even just as part of the show, this was something I became attached to. There's something so powerfully emotional about this song.
I only just learned the name of the singer, been rocking Outlaw Star avatars for most of my life. First time hearing the full version as well. Good stuff, great stuff.
such a beautiful song.... when i first listen to this song it made me cry and i would wait till the end of the show turn up my tv and sing it. ahh memories ^_^
Was my gateway into the anime world these songs it’s kinda cool and sad at the same time cause I was in and out of relationships around the time I guess it is a reminder of my past
Was just watching spice and wolf vol 2 when i connected the dots on who the coice of the theme song was.. Truly fantastic voice and art direction from Akino Arai
Man.. I have to listen to this song at least once a day. Always loved this song. I remember having this song burned to my favorite anime cd back in the late 90s. I use to listen to it at the bus stop before heading to highschool. Good Memories...
To be completely honest......this is the best song to poop to. Think I'm crazy? well try it! I've listened to this song almost every time I'm on the throne since 2002! #OutlawStar
We did live in the best anime timeline. The days of free anime & Toonami on Saturday nights will never return. But, the memories of shows like Outlaw Star will keep those days alive beyond our years......Thank God!! 🫡🥲
I was out photographing the Super Blue Blood Moon early this morning, and I suddenly remembered this song. It's been so many years since Midnight Run. I don't know where the time went...
When I think of OS my mind defaults to Hiro no tsuki and I love it. But hearing this instantly sent me back to those old nights doing homework on the floor while watching toonami.
This is probably going to sound really cheezy, but the last time my girlfriend was over at my place, we had a romantic dinner and afterwards we proceeded to slow dance to this song.
I cant believe it's been 21 years...seriously feels like it was just yesterday I had just finished watching the wrestling episode with Aisha and hearing this music pop up... man... what the hell happened to time
I discovered Outlaw Star at a friends house in the early 2000's. I caught it on Cartoon Network. So, then I bought all the episodes on VCD's. The quality was good, but a few years ago I got the whole set in a nice DVD box set. It's worth having if you like this show and it's available cheap now. Another good anime is Bubblegum Crisis 2030 which I also have in a box set and Ranma 1/2. This is on vhs, bluray, dvd, laserdisc, etc.
As wonderful as the past may seem now, there may be moments in your present life you wish you could live again. Never forget to live in the present. Its still the same world, after all.
+Nostalgic_Chaos .... man, I'm having those same exact feelings as I listen to this.... I rewatched Outlaw Star about 2 weeks ago and when it got to this ending, I was in a trance.... it was crazy yet peaceful.
High school '99, - '03. Adult swim was something to truly enjoy back then. Hearing this takes me back to those better days.
Me too I used to love watching Toonami during elementary school days and this song is phenomenal
Yes
98-02 for me. Takes me all the way back
Yes 👍 class of 03. This gives me so much nostalgia
100%

I'm a current AUS employee and it warms my heart to know that I'm not the only one Allied/Barton paid to enjoy OLS. 😂
@@TaintedBlood30
😂 Awesome!
Security life ^^ The night is alive
It's a lonely world when this one of your favorite songs ever.
Mm-hmm
well said.
Beautiful loneliness
So true
Nah means you had a great life 😊
I always felt a sad longing during the credits, the ambience of the music with the cool imagery; knowing I'll never get to see those places..I know I can't be the only one right?
+deslacooda Amen, and the songs sound much better in Japanese than they do in English. I don't understand a word, but it just flows better.
You were not alone .
You are not the only one
I feel that bro. When I feel that way I'll take some acid and watch the show, I never actually visited the places but I did feel like I was there with them.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. You would wish you could visit those lands and worlds while the music played.
Commenting again 4 years later. Thank you for uploading this. 28 years old and this will forever ring in my heart.
This was my favorite ending for Outlaw Star. After watching an epic space adventure, this song always felt like the perfect way to cap it off with a nice calming song.
I think the other song was slightly better, and this should have been the first ending, with the first being the second.
The episode when the young boy was supposed to meet that girl but the team ended up engaging her in battle and unknowingly killed her really hit hard when this song played right after.
Both endings are preformed by the same artist.
@@DIEGhostfish I agree😊
It was beautiful hearing this song again on Toonami. Best night ever.

+Nostalgic_Chaos tears though bro? I am happy feeling the nostalgia but not Tears lol
+Nostalgic_Chaos I see, that's deep bro.

This song feels like a dream
I like this comparison ^^

exact same story for me dude. My bro and I did the same, those were good days!!!
yesss exactly! this song brings an immediate feeling of calmness.
same for me as well!
***** yeah, same here... god I really miss those times... :'(

pure, nostalgia...moms getting dinner ready, lil sis & I watching Toonami & this songs comes on...man I miss those days
This song brings back memories of the old toonami.
Really
Ellen Romanillos sure did I was a kid when this came on.
Oh! Really ..ok
Yeah really dude what your problem us 90 kids need our time bro
Adult swim too
Anime was my savior when I had no friends growing up and now I’m surrounded by people of likeness and interest. Anime saved me and brought me friends later in life. Especially the music.

If I ever get married, definitely want this as my wedding song. The lyrics are so beautiful.
The feels from this song I heard so much in my youth. Time is only moving forward, I wish I could relive those days.
Me too. Exact thoughts.
hearing this gem in 2021, man has the time passed...
Just want to say thank you to Toonami for exposing me to so many wonderful anime back in 2001-2005
So much memories I used to love this as a kid. Wish I can go back into the late 90s and early 2000s sometimes.
Elementary school with this and Cowboy bebop changed me forever in the 90s. Thanks Adult swim for making us bigger kids with the big kids cartoons.
This ending marked the moment when Outlaw Star really began to get better. There was moments the first time they flew away in the Outlaw Star for the first time without Hilda to guide them and during the big race, but the fight with the crooks pretending to be terrorists was really the moment when the series really came together.
...my goodness...where is the time going??
Found this whole series at best buy 6 years ago best damn 40 bucks i spent to relive some of my old memories of the older toonami
Lucky you!
The bluray is under 30 dollars on Amazon

Outlaw Star and Gundam Wing on Toonami on the evenings was the shit kids these days don't know whats up.
+Miguel Rivas They got "Uncle Grandpa" lol
I remember at first it started on Adult swim with Bebop and trigun :D
There is a reason why most kids now a days watch anime and youtubers instead of Cartoon Network...
@@josephcittadino6541 That's facts. CN really died and sold out.
++++ Toonami was the best, i miss that
Reminds me of cold winter nights and the moon shining making everything look blue, just my thought to this song
I miss coming home from school to watch Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo and DBZ (many more of course). This ending really hits that nostalgia spot.

its dope that most of us are men and not confined in our masculinity to appreciate the song
I don’t usually listen to stuff like this, I’m more into Alternative Rock but this song is just too good to ignore
They have nothing to do with each other. this is music
I enjoy anime music, and I've been listening to Japanese city pop on a near-daily basis for the past couple of years now.
I always listen to anime openings and endings and this one stays in rotation
The difference between this song and the tone of the show is what makes it so good.
nostalgic
This song sounds like it's from a future where everything is all at peace.
Ikr?! And as chaotic as times were back then as well with 9/11 and the Iraq War, everything else then seemed right. I terribly miss those days now.
There's something to be said for a song that drives you to tears, no matter how many times you listen to it. I actually went to an Arai Akino concert back in 2012 while I was in Japan and got to experience her sing it live. I'll never forget it.
Not much of an anime fan but this takes me back.
one word "beautiful"
A series I grew up with on those late nights, with loveable characters, captivating storyline, and ending songs that will never leave me for the many years I will live.If I had one series to own back in the day,it would be Outlaw Star
Aria Briar back then,I had a crush on Gene Starwind XD lol
and I thought Melfina was the most beautiful character ever.Idk why XD
+Aria Briar We know... same here
+Aria Briar it's cause she was and to me still is really. Funny the age of this show, yet it has prettier animation than most of the new animes.
still till this very day. one of my favorite and 1st anime I ever watch. this for the video man
thanks for the video
this song brings back more memories of my toonami child hood than i could ever ask for. It brings a tear to my eyes.
You and me both.
+Elijah Shiver same here I even have the whole Outlaw Star series on DVD
Here here!
Same here gosh i miss old school anime :D thank heavens toonami is back.
Kerri Hauff YES! The nostalgia everytime I hear these songs is strong! These anime took me on an adventure when I was younger!

was not even checking the anime but for some reason hypnotized by the ending and its vibes
They really don't make them how they use to...
I will miss this forever ❤
Yep, now Japan is dismissing its traditions with anime and the anime industry is now super corrupt, like everything else. I miss the old days.
Memories of when times as a kid were golden ..no iphones smart phones etc....im getting teary eyed...🙁🙁🙁
Outlaw Star was so underrated.
Akino Arai....Such a lovely voice.
I was just thinking the same thing. I swear this song touches my soul. SOOO much better then the 1st ending.
Brings back a LOT of good memories! Thanks a million for the upload!!! :D
One of my favorite anime ever loved watching this series as a kid back in 2001 when it premiered on toonami so happy to have it in my collection
This song will always be a masterpiece. It always fills me with peace and wonder, and if it was possible I would marry her voice.

Loved Outlaw Star. Loved this song. Made nights magical and still does. Take a listen while out for a stroll at night and you'll understand
Brave enough of Cartoon Network to keep the original Japanese outro songs when the anime first aired back in 2001.
Just listening to this takes me back! n_n
