Hi, thank you for uploading such an interesting video, it is very helpful. I have some questions if you can guide me, I am a singer/songwriter but I also write for other artists, and I own the copyright masters , there is no need for me to have 2 accounts right? Can you in every song that you upload make a difference? I am quite confused, also I have my PRO in USA but I am living in South America, how can you filled this out ? Thank you for your time

Definitely check out my full guide on royalties. The link is in the description. You first need to clarify the difference between owning the song copyright and owning the recording copyright. SoundExchange is for the recording owner and for the performing artist specifically, not the songwriter. PRO's collect for songwriters. Sometimes the songwriter is also the artist and is also the recording owner, but not always. All 3 of those things are different and are entitled to different royalties.

When distributing your music through CDBaby, they can collect the "Sound Recording" side on your behalf and they deposit it into your CDBaby account. You can opt to collect that directly yourself (save 9%), but unless those royalties are substantial, it may not be worth the effort. Just collect your artist side (CDBaby does not collect that).
