It wasn't long ago I saw a video picturing canned dog meat the North Koreans were eating. I probably saw it on Suchomimus because he is one of the few who comes up with that sort of thing. In any case, the dog meat they eat is from a breed they grow for that purpose. Big white fluffy dog. Two cans of Korean rations featuring greasy looking dog meat was shown. I wouldn't eat it even if it was beef. The Russians didn't want to eat it either. They may have changed their minds by now.

The Germans in the Second World War prioritized their frontline combat personnel while looking down on their logistics and support personnel in the German military. This proved to be disastrous for them when they invaded the Soviet Union.
To be fair, as far back as when it was Prussia, the Germany military model was designed to win short, sharp wars with quick strikes and decisive battles. Germany did not have the resources needed to fight long, attritional wars.

Since the 1400s! Or whenever it was the mongols invaded and the muscovites bent the knee rather than fight. Ok, I don’t blame them for that, nobody was winning wars with the Mongols.
But Russians feel the cognitive dissonance of that, that they actually behaved like cowards rather than the strong supermen they keep telling themselves they are. It explains so much.

Actually what this shows is two things. This is "consumer" grade food apparently much like one would expect to buy at a supermarket. On the front line generally one would not expect be getting these sort of items.
Why not? A soldier, especially in this conflict can't be setting up a stove due to the heat signature and the time required to open packages, slice, dice and prepare the food. Plus you need a space to do this especially with drones buzzing around. Then add in it seems the front lines are fluid so setting up a place to cook would be a problem.
Nope the food shown looks like it should have been in a rear area field kitchen which it appear there isn't one.
The other thing is if this really was meant for the front lines, it means there has been a serious disruption of the Russian supply system for hard rations, whatever they might be. It could be the factories making these rations are too small or ineffective and this is the easy way around the problem.

rooskie delivery drivers trained by Amazon I see, but rooskies are slightly better because at least the package gets most of the way there, it does not just vanish like a fart in a hurricane.

In one of my German classes in college, there was a stirring short story by (I believe) Günter Grass about wartime hunger and famine among civilians. In that story (which was written in very simple German), bread or lack of it was very symbolic about the overall situation. Hearing this soldier lament about the spoiled bread reminded me of that story.

yeah, that looks like the kind of abysmal "storage" system and supply issue that you get when you have untrained, demotivated troops, not unit cohesion and no strong mission focus or supply chain.
russian supply chain deploys a push-system, not pull, which is usually a "good" thing when in a large scale war, as it ensures that at least a decent number of supplies will reach the units.
but if that last part of the chain dosnt work for reasons of fear, low/nonexistant morale and low discipline, well... it all just piles up behind the frontline, and the soldiers dont actually get their stuff.
and if the backline-guys arent able to keep stuff clean, sorted and organzied, than anything supplied will have a good chance at rusting, rotting or being buried under trash

Reminds me of a atory I heard from my great grandfather in the netherlands who was caught by the Germans and put in Camp Vught, he talked about holding the bread behind his back in order to eat it because it was so covered in mold.

This is actual standard practice for the Russian military, or so we were taught. Every platoon at the front sends a couple of guys back to the rear to get food and ammo every day. The supply troops never take food to the front. You come get it.
