Based on basic Shonen progression, Oda from the beginning describing him as someone who doesn't go all out so he can power creep with him later, and the fact that he has his bounty so close to 3 yonkos based on strength and threat alone. No territories, inactive for over a decade, and a complete introvert. A decade-long active Mihawk with even a mediocre Yonko crew and territories under him would've 100% had a higher bounty than Shanks and likely above Kaido's.

From what we have seen him do I would say no, but we know we haven't seen him go all out and we know he was competing against shanks before the start of the main story line when Luffy was around waist height. And since then he hasn't seemed to increase his strength that we know of. He is possible Yonko level in terms of combat capacity, but absolutely lack in his capacity to influence the world(but I doubt he has any interest in having tha kind of power) At the end of the day we don't know, yet.

Dragon will most likely have a higher bounty than shanks and that’s not even a hot take. Dragon has explicitly been stated to be the world's most wanted/dangerous criminal. Bounty does not translate to power. While power contributes a lot to bounty, there are other things that contribute too.
Why, Shanks never did anything, almost literally, though that is true of most characters in OP, they are all just waiting for a SH or ally to come along to come out of standby mode. "Alright, let's do this, let's make this work the first time." But even so, Dragon has more implied history. And Shanks is the kind of BS character that could not do anything in original production but that some kid pretends can do everything and destroy the solar system etc. Oda is that kid. Power scaling is easy but the One Piece community has too much agenda pushing and people who can’t understand the story comes first. This is why you will see Marco fighting Big Mom when he doesn’t have the stats to fight her.
Powerscaling is the story. Marco wasn't "fighting" Big Mom. Oda specifically made it so that Marco's flames counters hers. It was the only way for him to last. Oda considers powerscaling in everything he does, which is why he always give characters leeway without fail.

Too much agenda pushing & even reading comprehension/context issues. The powescaling can be pretty consistent actually with feats/portrayal but overall yes story comes first for Oda. Marco being able to clash a bit with BM & counter her fire makes sense tho with his df, also the fact we’ve seen him do well against other strong characters before so it’s not a surprise that happened. Lot of it also has to do with stylistic matchups in OP. Like Momo burning GB, doesn’t mean he can take on GB or GB’s weak or something lol. Just story being prioritized & stylistic matchups. Ppl just always complicate powerscaling, look at it very linear, push agendas, blow things out of proportion, etc but I feel like it’s pretty easy to tell when the story portrays somebody as stronger with the feats/portrayal given to us. It only gets complicated when trying to compare characters who have no feats but similar portrayal like some of the top tiers. Powerscaling has its place & does kinda matter but it should not be obsessed over. The story itself is more important at the end of the day
Ngl this is a lot of mental gymnastics. The entire end of Wano is the idea that the Old Generation time has passed and need to make room for the new gen. Characters that are Yonko tier should be characters who has or will in the future be capable of fighting other Yonkos. That means Shanks, Current Luffy, Blackbeard, Whitebeard(Old or Prime), Garp(Old or Prime), Akojii, Akainu, Mihawk, and Big Mom are all Yonko tier characters.

The great thing about cross guild is that together they are likely one of the stronger emperor crews. Buggy has the charisma to attract people to him like Luffy. Of course Mihawk has the power and crocodile the brain. Guessing they will eventually get doflamingo, weevil, moria and maybe even Hancock on the team. It will probably be similar to rocks crew where they work together but don't necessarily like each other. Of course Hancock would never fight Luffy.

i think what most people fail to take into account is the bounties are not just measures of power but of power and worldwide influence as well. this makes ranking people based on just power with bounties erroneous from the start. the cross guild bounties are most likely the most accurate in terms of power because the marines have no worldwide influence due to serving under the world govt
Stamina is an issue BUT Luffy technically won by T.K.O. I feel like that should put Luffy in the 4 billion range simply because of that feat. We’ve only seen Whitebeard fight on par with an admiral up until Egghead, and that was 600 chapters ago. Luffy should be credited for that imo.

KOL you always say how Mihawk is exactly where you've always thought of him to be, which for you is the gap between admiral and Yonkou but just admit he is Yonkou level. Oda made him relative to Shanks. Mihawk has a higher bounty than 2 of the Yonkou. And even Shanks who is an OG yonkou only has a slightly higher bounty of about 450 million berri when Shanks has territory and a crew leagues stronger than Mihawk's. That their bounty is that close is actually a bit embarrassing on Shanks' part. Oda made Mihawk say he had no interest in becoming a yonkou because he clearly could become one if he wanted.

OId Whitebeard FYI: I consider Dragon/Akainu/Mihawk to be near equal in strength, but I didn't wanna put them on the same number so it is what it is, just keep in mind the three of them are interchangeable in my mind. If Cross Guild didn't have at least one Yonko level fighter, they would get rushed by the WG considering how problematic they are. Mihawk has to be Yonko level. I have him at low Yonkou personally, which means he'd comfortably win a mid to high diff fight against an admiral (depending on the admiral), and lose a high to extreme diff fight to one of the more solidly established Yonko (Kaido, BM, Shanks). Same tier of power I have current Luffy at, the old man trio in their prime (though prime Garp probably true yonko level), Oden and Kaido during their fight, etc. Primebeard, Roger and Xebec are on another tier for me, PK level.
Shanks used a sword attack to one-shot one of the characters who took out Big Mom. By default this put Shanks above Big Mom AND Mihawk above her by extension as he at the very least can replicate Shanks sword attacks in strength. And if he's above her, Mihawk has a clear chance of realistically taking out Kaido. I've never understood the Mihawk downplay when Oda is clearly saving his strength for the endgame, especially one where Haki mastery (which Mihawk 100% has) was put on a pedestal by Kaido.

*To the Mihawk doubters:* If we're going to use the Vista fight to downplay Mihawk's power level, then we also get to use the fish in Chapter 1 that bit off Shanks' arm to downplay Shanks' power level. Low showing for low showing. Can't lowball one character and not the other just because it doesn't fit your narrative.
By the same token, if you approach the Chapter 1 fish incident in good faith knowing that Oda isn't infallible and doesn't plan everything out completely (like characters' power levels), then you also have to approach the Vista fight the same way. If you're going to ignore the fish incident and toss it up as Oda not knowing how strong he wanted to make things yet, then you can do the same for Mihawk against Vista. Oda didn’t even think of haki yet at that point of the story ffs (no, it was not introduced in chapter 1, stop the mental gymnastics). His frozen bounty before the abolishment of the system was definitely much lower than it is now

Honestly G5 is leagues above Almirante level, Luffy made Kizaru look really weak, Green bull didn’t said anything, just didn’t wanted to fight, kizaru try his hardest to get a single attack pass Luffy and hit one human, I repeat, a LIGHTSPEED character couldn’t make ONE attack effectively surpassing luffy, up until luffy lost his stamina and then One punch the hell out of Kizaru with Advanced Conquerors, he didn’t used Advanced Conquerors the entire time, he didn’t even consider Kizaru a threat, to put it more clear, if luffy and Kizaru face, Luffy would not do anything to Kizaru, in that fight Luffy never hits Kizaru first, always defending, even the first encounter was a kick made after Kizaru attack. Not wanting to fight is not as bad as trying your hardest to get one hit landed and get K.O. the moment luffy got tired imo.

Luffy Mihawk,Shanks,Aokiji for me for favorite Characters I believe Aokiji and Mihawk are Yonko level. What tells me this? I have a different argument then KOL and BDA I’d argue that Nonody wants to Solo anybody that Yonkou Level or when they do encounter typnkou level Characters and they class and defend themselves to the point of escape the reason why this matters is because in All anime outside of things like instant transmission hiding in other dimension powers nobody loves or escapes battles if they can’t win or defend themselves to the point of escape. Defending yourself to the point of escape doesn’t mean your weaker it just means that person can’t kill you. You can escape without Vital damage. Nobody has been seen to attack Mihawk and then sustain and attack. They usually stop the fight when Mihawk does. Aokiji rides alone on an ice bike in the middle of the ocean left the marines if you look at it in real world terms it’s like a Office leaving the police force and turning to a life of crime. Your in damaged from all entities. Nobody even bothers to attack Aokiji until Garp realistically. Just something to think about. Shanks could defend himself to the point of escape from Kaido. Most people know an all out fight to the death could be fatal so they are more the reluctant to attack Aokiji and Mihawk they sent a buster call to Mihawk they ain’t go solo.

Using bounties is wonky. Mihawk beat Shanks with two arms,has no crew and isn’t even an”emperor” in the eyes of the world government. If Mihawk was the emperor instead of buggy his bounty would be in the 4 bill range like the others .Even his bounty being higher than two emperors should tell you he’s that he’s high Yonkers level. We could only hope so. I hate how G4 stamina issue still remains prevalent so far in the story, despite how far better Luffy became at using Haki. Luffy ,at the moment, can use Advanced conqueror haki without any draw backs, but loses armament haki for 10min when he uses G4.

A decade-long active Mihawk with even a mediocre Yonko crew and territories under him would've 100% had a higher bounty than Shanks and likely above Kaido's.

From what we have seen him do I would say no, but we know we haven't seen him go all out and we know he was competing against shanks before the start of the main story line when Luffy was around waist height. And since then he hasn't seemed to increase his strength that we know of.

Power scaling is easy but the One Piece community has too much agenda pushing and people who can’t understand the story comes first. This is why you will see Marco fighting Big Mom when he doesn’t have the stats to fight her.
Powerscaling is the story. Marco wasn't "fighting" Big Mom. Oda specifically made it so that Marco's flames counters hers. It was the only way for him to last. Oda considers powerscaling in everything he does, which is why he always give characters leeway without fail.

Too much agenda pushing & even reading comprehension/context issues. The powescaling can be pretty consistent actually with feats/portrayal but overall yes story comes first for Oda. Marco being able to clash a bit with BM & counter her fire makes sense tho with his df, also the fact we’ve seen him do well against other strong characters before so it’s not a surprise that happened. Lot of it also has to do with stylistic matchups in OP. Like Momo burning GB, doesn’t mean he can take on GB or GB’s weak or something lol. Just story being prioritized & stylistic matchups. Ppl just always complicate powerscaling, look at it very linear, push agendas, blow things out of proportion, etc but I feel like it’s pretty easy to tell when the story portrays somebody as stronger with the feats/portrayal given to us. It only gets complicated when trying to compare characters who have no feats but similar portrayal like some of the top tiers. Powerscaling has its place & does kinda matter but it should not be obsessed over. The story itself is more important at the end of the day

This made me realize that the god knights must be insanely powerful to think they took one rocks and his crew with Kaido, big mom and white beard and only had garp and Roger on their side. Even if garp and Roger did most of the work that’s still impressive to survive that battle.
The great thing about cross guild is that together they are likely one of the stronger emperor crews. Buggy has the charisma to attract people to him like Luffy. Of course Mihawk has the power and crocodile the brain. Guessing they will eventually get doflamingo, weevil, moria and maybe even Hancock on the team. It will probably be similar to rocks crew where they work together but don't necessarily like each other. Of course Hancock would never fight Luffy.

Stamina is an issue BUT Luffy technically won by T.K.O. I feel like that should put Luffy in the 4 billion range simply because of that feat. We’ve only seen Whitebeard fight on par with an admiral up until Egghead, and that was 600 chapters ago. Luffy should be credited for that imo.

KOL you always say how Mihawk is exactly where you've always thought of him to be, which for you is the gap between admiral and Yonkou but just admit he is Yonkou level. Oda made him relative to Shanks.
Mihawk has a higher bounty than 2 of the Yonkou. And even Shanks who is an OG yonkou only has a slightly higher bounty of about 450 million berri when Shanks has territory and a crew leagues stronger than Mihawk's. That their bounty is that close is actually a bit embarrassing on Shanks' part. Oda made Mihawk say he had no interest in becoming a yonkou because he clearly could become one if he wanted.

Did you forget Mihawk had been chilling the entire time too? Mihawk's bounty had been frozen for several years. If Cross Guild didn't have at least one Yonko level fighter, they would get rushed by the WG considering how problematic they are. Mihawk has to be Yonko level. I have him at low Yonkou personally, which means he'd comfortably win a mid to high diff fight against an admiral (depending on the admiral), and lose a high to extreme diff fight to one of the more solidly established Yonko (Kaido, BM, Shanks). Same tier of power I have current Luffy at, the old man trio in their prime (though prime Garp probably true yonko level), Oden and Kaido during their fight, etc. Primebeard, Roger and Xebec are on another tier for me, PK level.
Shanks used a sword attack to one-shot one of the characters who took out Big Mom. By default this put Shanks above Big Mom AND Mihawk above her by extension as he at the very least can replicate Shanks sword attacks in strength. And if he's above her, Mihawk has a clear chance of realistically taking out Kaido.
I've never understood the Mihawk downplay when Oda is clearly saving his strength for the endgame, especially one where Haki mastery (which Mihawk 100% has) was put on a pedestal by Kaido.

If we're going to use the Vista fight to downplay Mihawk's power level, then we also get to use the fish in Chapter 1 that bit off Shanks' arm to downplay Shanks' power level.
Low showing for low showing. Can't lowball one character and not the other just because it doesn't fit your narrative.
By the same token, if you approach the Chapter 1 fish incident in good faith knowing that Oda isn't infallible and doesn't plan everything out completely (like characters' power levels), then you also have to approach the Vista fight the same way.
If you're going to ignore the fish incident and toss it up as Oda not knowing how strong he wanted to make things yet, then you can do the same for Mihawk against Vista. Luffy Mihawk,Shanks,Aokiji for me for favorite Characters I believe Aokiji and Mihawk are Yonko level. What tells me this? I have a different argument then KOL and BDA I’d argue that Nonody wants to Solo anybody that Yonkou Level or when they do encounter typnkou level Characters and they class and defend themselves to the point of escape the reason why this matters is because in All anime outside of things like instant transmission hiding in other dimension powers nobody loves or escapes battles if they can’t win or defend themselves to the point of escape. Defending yourself to the point of escape doesn’t mean your weaker it just means that person can’t kill you. You can escape without Vital damage. Nobody has been seen to attack Mihawk and then sustain and attack. They usually stop the fight when Mihawk does. Aokiji rides alone on an ice bike in the middle of the ocean left the marines if you look at it in real world terms it’s like a Office leaving the police force and turning to a life of crime. Your in damaged from all entities. Nobody even bothers to attack Aokiji until Garp realistically. Just something to think about. Shanks could defend himself to the point of escape from Kaido. Most people know an all out fight to the death could be fatal so they are more the reluctant to attack Aokiji and Mihawk they sent a buster call to Mihawk they ain’t go solo.

Using bounties is wonky. Mihawk beat Shanks with two arms,has no crew and isn’t even an”emperor” in the eyes of the world government. If Mihawk was the emperor instead of buggy his bounty would be in the 4 bill range like the others .Even his bounty being higher than two emperors should tell you he’s that he’s high Yonkers level. Imagine if king’s bounty was higher than Kaido’s.
Even story wise the fact that we haven’t seen this man fight seriously once should let you know that he’s a top tier.

My issue with kol is that he forgot that charcters such as the admirals were built up since before the timeskip so i really don,t understand why oda will build them up to make them weaker than the yonko And Because it doesn't make any sense.

Law & Kidd executed a great plan that only works on Onigashima and only with their unique talents. Shanks saw Kidd as a threat and so blitzed him and Law vs the BB pirates (it was a jumping) was mid diff at worst. Be serious mate

We could only hope so. I hate how G4 stamina issue still remains prevalent so far in the story, despite how far better Luffy became at using Haki. Luffy ,at the moment, can use Advanced conqueror haki without any draw backs, but loses armament haki for 10min when he uses G4.
@@xsanther3155 same with g5. Maybe this is my headcanon but think Oda gave the stamina issue to g5 for story reasons. Otherwise Luffy would end up too op too early. Although imo, we’re in the final saga, Luffy should be allowed to be op as hell now. Hopefully by end Elbaf he will have fixed the time limit issue.
G5 is fine, because Luffy has to work for it, so it won't feel cheap but actually earned.
G4 However, doesn't make sense at this point of the story.

Trying to say Mihawk and Dragon aren't on a yonko tier of strength is some of the wildest cope I have ever heard.
You bounty scale but then claim Shanks is stronger than Big Mum and Kaido and dodge the fact that Dragon is known as the most wanted man. Saying Mihawk is also not the strongest swordsman is also by definiton saying that Oda will disrespect Zoro's dream and never make him the strongest swordsman. It is quite clear that Oda levels up characters from first commander level to then a admiral/yonko level as the next step yet this would be assuming that Zoro will not level up anymore across the next arcs until he fights Mihawk since he is already hugh first commander level but you have Mihawk somewhere between the yoko and admirals.
